Premium Member Not a Wolf I Bet

something is howling
more than one wolf and his mate
yipping coyotes

excited yipping
coyotes cornered something
not a wolf I bet

Loofah

I dearly love a good loofah
indeed I do how about you
I'll loofah here loofah there
loofah nearly everywhere
and whomever invented
the loofah
did an excellent thing
even the name 'loofah'
has a mighty fine ring
but I'm willing to bet
when day is done
buying a loofah
better yet
for the price of one
is definitely a twofer
oh and would you be so good
if you please
don't throw those corks away
do you think they grow on trees

Premium Member Out On A Limb

A tall tree I did climb,
on a bet of a dime.
Baby Bear said it was funny,
it was not for the big money.
The limb broke what a crime.

Premium Member I bet you will like this one

I do not like anything symmetrical
it is the artist in me
I wanted color for the kitchen
my husband leans toward black and white
he likes round things, and hearts, things that are even on both sides

I think symmetrical things are nonimaginative and boring
The minute I saw the multi-colored tile I knew that was going into my kitchen.
My husband had been saying “I like this, I like this I like this”
his choices were bland, tan, gray, vanilla, colorless.

I heard him say “I bet you will like this one.”
When I turned and saw it, he knew.
This colorful tile backdrop is now in our kitchen.
It has perked the entire house up.
I had to get a new canister set, and new dishes.
They bring me joy also, so it was worth it.

Premium Member Bet the Farm on It

As sure as scientists ask why
    and winged creatures fly

  Politicians will lie ~
             and soldiers will die

This One Bet

Were I to explain
what then would I say …
That the moon loves its axis
that each dog has its day
That the question unanswered
most answered indeed
That each start an enigma
and truth often bleeds
That the mind unexplored
without mention at all
That from season to season
time stumbles and falls
Against my better nature
I’ll place this one bet
The answer you hoped for
— you’re never to get

Oh Soprano Which Is Duplicate

The cries of those
That lacked leadership
From that time
Till now
That vision of America
That is cried from the
Tears of those who have
Nothing but aspire to
Have
That circle which is centered
From the trust
And believing
Which tomorrow's are promised
From this today
And that eternal trust
Of believing secures the faith
Of those who trust
Backbreaking efforts of workers
Staffs who believe in
The echoes of tomorrow
Stand beside me
When those who have chores
To secure the dignity of
The learners stand with me
Might the efforts of both
Admistrater and staff
Be for that tomorrow
Which includes us all
From the homeless to the lord's
From the administration to the tasker
Those unafraid to seek the need of
All people
Lay down those burdens which hind
That they trouble the way of procession
In the sight of these people who lack the
Understanding of your troubling!

Premium Member A Bet On Naivete

Thinking 'twould endear him to the fairer sex
He'd ever worn his heart upon his sleeve

By the time he found he'd been naive
~ The girl he'd married called him 'ex'

Everyone Is a Poet, I Strongly Bet

Evert poet follows a different style
Writing excellently showing a variety
We must appreciate their individuality
As wonderful news they finely mail

Poets must vary in all the ways widely
Then only classic poems will emerge
In deep ecstasy we all can submerge
May poets of this World muse shrewdly

Never criticize poets blaming their write
As that may spoil wholly their originality
We must always encourage creativity
As every poet, we must with love knight

Poetry is open to all to be wisely used
It is not at all a private affair of a group
Any person in poetry writing can top
In case he has with great talent mused

Please write poetry and actively participate
Express your heart through a broad mind
Everything peaceful, make this World find
A superlative poem, from you I anticipate.

Reckless Bet

His eyes with salty tears wet
Over needless reckless bet
On some spacious rooms to let,
Whose owner Nick Dick had met
And was told “Time for it not set.”
Not the same as “Not for let”
Rather meaning “Not quite yet”.

Then, just like that, rooms got set,
Nick Dick to this not forget
Like one cannot a ruined pet;
Mongrels: The Injecting Vet…

Where might he now thousands get
To good make an entered bet?
Twenty thousand grand not yet…

Nick has walked into a net.

Premium Member The Game Isn'T Over

After election party-hopping is prohibited
Now come the complains and slanders
Gone the frog comes the toad
Bet is no more bet
Defeat is still far away to be admitted
Hustle and bustle carries on after election and sworn in
Maybe settle scores at an opportune moment
Maybe democracy is challenged
Where's justice
Maybe this is the new way of life

Premium Member They Lost a Bet

What’s happening? A bystander asked the McCormick sisters, unduly soused.
They lost a bet, Wilma and Lucille said as the other two grunted and roused.
You mean they must pull that cart all the way to Marshalltown today?
Yes, and the horse was so happy she did a celebratory sashay.

Do you McCormicks often make your siblings tow the line like this?
It will make them much stronger said Wilma, an enterprising miss.
Lucille kept quiet, because she knows the mind of women on the street.
And seeing her sisters struggle to pull their cart was an enormous treat.

Premium Member He Was Never a Sure Bet

I introduced my fiancé to my best friend.
Knowing they would not get along at all.
I was the one not happy in the end.
For their love affair was not a bit small.

They both dumped me quickly.
They were a twosome, so slickly.
I had no idea this would be the case.
But their romance took a rapid pace.

My wedding was off, and hers was in full swing.
A six year engagement broken off, he took my ring.
She never wore it; he got her a much better one.
It took me a while to see he would have been no fun.

He never had these deep crazy feelings for me.
I was the one who wanted a wedding to be.
I sit in silence and stare at a lone cigarette.
Not willing to admit he was never a sure bet.

B E T

bet it all
            in life to see
            if you were lucky...
            gave little,
            received nothing...
            you won it all ...
             lost everything,
            died without
            carrying nothing
            of yours... so
             you couldn't do anything...!
