I wished upon a paper moon
~
I wished upon a paper moon
and fell among the stars
Was whisked away to somewhere good
a place just where you are
Along a winding riverbed
below a willow tree
With fireflies to light the way,
a path for you and me
We laughed as if the world were new
amazed within this scene
Of lily pads and dragonflies
the two of us did dream
Holding hands and skipping stones
the ripples came to shore
Magically they disappeared
as we called out for more
Reflections on the water played
in wavering design
You pointed to the middle
where a heart shape you did find
And then you whispered in my ear
my wish had now come true
Out here beneath this paper moon
in love, just me and you
Good night Soupers
Have a great weekend
There was once a man that wished truth to know
His heart and soul with knowledge to glow
Studied every single day
Whatever found on his way
Soon he found out in wisdom couldn't grow!

She wished to be rich
though she was built like a bridge
But she could cook, she could sew, she could stitch
So, she snagged a wealthy man
by repeating, ‘I do and I can’
Beauty was no part of the plan
You are everything I wished for,
I couldn’t ask for more,
You are so good to me,
and in return you will always have my loyalty,
I love how you can always make me smile,
its makes me want to stay for a while,
You give me unconditional love and honesty,
In my eyes you will always be handsome and strong,
no matter what people may say,
I know your love for me is pure and true,
You are my one and only,
I have a strong desire to be with you and only you,
I appreciate everything you do,
You’re love will never leave me feeling lonly,
You are the most amazing guy I have ever met,
and better yet,
I love the way you say "I love you" with out speaking,
I wouldn’t dare ask for anything more if i were givin the chance,
You are everything i wished for,
and much more.
In a fine weather
In your garden ,
I wept
When the gentle breeze blew .
As the fragrance rose
From the champaka flower,
When a wild pigeon cooed
Roosting on a tree branch yonder,
When egrets were seen flying
Towards the distant blue hill ,
In a fine weather ,
I wept
In solitude
In your garden .
Once a man thought it good to be merry
Thus he decided never to marry
He gave parties every night
Having fun with all his might
When he died, none was there, him to bury!

Limericks crochetés : Once an Outlaw wished to abide by the Law
Once an Outlaw wished to abide by the Law
He married sister to Officer Law -
Then he went to college
Now lawyer in village :
His in-law divorced to marry Outlaw !
He took her case up to Appeal Court
The judges pronounced the divorce naught
So she joined the husband
To form the In-Law bund
To trap couples in marriages fraught
He thus named his law firm : In-Law & Co :
Specialists on marriages broken by law -
His clients were divorced
Payment by cheque not forced :
Outlaws lawyers in-laws knocked on his door !

Moonlight shone upon her
As she wished upon a star
What price would it incur
For wishes that are so far
Need for it to come true
Would each have a price
Could happiness ensue
Her hope for a paradise
Wishes for a kind of love
That few would ever find
Wishes sent to up above
Hoped stars to be so kind
She wished every night
A true love that would fill
Prayed to the starlight
Love one day would reveal
And so she sat awaiting
For a wish to come to be
The thought intoxicating
One day to be her reality

Have you ever wished upon a falling star
and imagined how many there really are
Or did you bend down to pick up a lucky penny
and think of those who may not have any
Maybe you thought of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
or were just at a point in your life you didn't know which way to go
You found the rarest of four-leaf clovers
but looked for the tarnish on the gold coin you turned over
Luck comes around once in awhile
yet miracles happen every day
They're found in a parent's touch, a child's laughter, a friend's smile
and often in the kind words we hear and say
Always reach for the stars
give to those in need
Never give up your search for treasure
and know that luck is fate, indeed
We've had sorrow, yet we can heal
we've had joy we want others to feel
Overcome the bad, and rejoice in the good days
finding love and peace in so many ways
It were you
It's been ages as I wait
moments frozen in my silvery plaits,
Years be counted in my wrinkles
passion shines as hope twinkles,
Autumns returned in the orange hue,
as crispy leaves cherished their due,
Vibrant flowers in mesmerising cover,
Wished it were you back every summer !
I waited as perished every flower,
and sweet fruits all turned sour,
Yellow leaves swiftly bid adieu,
Turned at knocks to find it were you !
Many autumns passed by
to the sweet lovers convoy,
As I reeled in worst of fears
my emotions shuddered in tears,
How long ! How long do I wait ?
With brush of youth, I colour my plait,
and camouflage smiles with wrinkles,
to find if life the soul can sprinkle,
As breeze renders me a soft caress,
Tranquil in time our breaths coalesce,
raindrops to tune of our hearts will rhyme,
Sure it must be you teaching mime !
Inspired by song by Suzanne- It could have been you

I Wished
I wished on a shooting star
I wished on the first star I saw in the night
I wished on an eyelash to find a true love
I wished on the candles on my birthday cake
I wished on the penny I threw in the well
I wished on a wishbone breaking it in two
I wished on a dandelion blowing seeds into the air
I wished on a ladybug to grant me good luck
I wished our love would come true
I wished you knew of my love for you
I wished that I knew… you were wishing for me too
I wished
I wished
I wished
I wished until there were no wishes left
(Damn! Where’s that Genie when you need him?)
Expensive boy toys you kept buying
All the while to me you were lying
Though you felt like confection
Till I found your protection
And ended your ideas of trying

I WISHED MY PEOPLE KNEW THIS!
MY PEOPLE COMPLAIN LIKE THEY WERE FED WITH CONSTRAINS
SO MANY CORRUPT LEADERS DECEIVING THE YOUTH WITH THEIR WORDS LIKE PROPANE
THE YOUTH SNIFF THEM AND GET ADDICTED LIKE COCAINE
SO NURTURED WITH THEIR DOGMATIC MENTAL SLAVERY THEY WILL KEEP DESTROYING THE FUTURE THAT WE CAN’T CONTAIN
I BELIEVE THE YOUTH WILL RISE UP ONE DAY AND FIGHT EVERY CORRUPT HEART WITH MUCH PAIN
I WISHED BOB WAS ALIVE TO REWRITE HIS “REDEMPTION SONG” BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE USE IT FOR MY CAMPAIGN
ON ALL LIGHTS AND LET’S SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR US TO POP CHAMPAGNE
LAST NIGHT I HAD A DREAM WHERE NKRUMAH TOLD ME THAT WHEN HE TOOK A LOOK AT AFRICA NOW, HE GOT SAD BUT WITH MY WORDS HE WILL SUSTAIN
EVEN AFTER MISUSING OUR TAXES, THEY FORGET TO FEED THE CHILDREN IN SOMALIA BUT I WILL CUT DOWN MY LAST PLANT AND FEED THEM WITH PLANTAIN
WHEN WE MAKE EVERY VISION AT NIGHT AND DRAMATIZE EVERY REALITY IN THE MORNING
WE MAKE FOOLS OUT OF FOOLS WHO WILL BRING NO FOOD FOR THE FOLD
THEY CAN SPIT ON MY GRAVE BUT THE TRUTH WILL BURN THEM DOWN EVEN IN THE COLD
I loathe the light of breaking dawn
as it snatches my dreams of you.
Your face appeared for a moment-
Your breath- a brisk, soft wing-
the pressing of your side, I felt...then gone.
The goblet I have not rinsed,
as the last drink of wine was from your lips.
I gave you "Ann's Beautiful Daughter" in our second year,
once pink, but now dried. It died between
the pages of your favorite book.
I inhaled your perfume as I slept last night,
my drug that let me sleep on, to dream-
and as I awakened and cursed the sun
I realized it was the hundredth day, I wished it more,
for with time the world might be less grim.
I listen for your voice- in the songbirds,
the rain, the wind rushing thru leaf-gallows from trees,
but the silence is deafening. It creeps into corners
and slides down the walls, and when I call it back
the lips part to shout, but it cannot be heard.
I say your name to feel it form on my tongue-
to hear it echo a familiar ring...in the room...
down the hall- to fill a barren space.
I repeat it over and over until it sounds odd.
Then it falls from my ears and reaches up to
caress my face.
I found as apport
A Monty’s tail
I wished full Monty
