Brenda Chiri Poet Rhyme

She Wished Upon a Star

Moonlight shone upon her
As she wished upon a star
What price would it incur
For wishes that are so far

Need for it to come true
Would each have a price
Could happiness ensue
Her hope for a paradise

Wishes for a kind of love
That few would ever find
Wishes sent to up above
Hoped stars to be so kind

She wished every night
A true love that would fill
Prayed to the starlight
Love one day would reveal

And so she sat awaiting
For a wish to come to be
The thought intoxicating
One day to be her reality
