Shining brightly flashes of white light
into spectral colours sparkle inwardly

Atoms arranged within a crystal structure domed
a gemstone takes shape measured from the clarity of beauty

Within diamond ultraviolet wavelengths transmit visible
jewel jubilantly crowned regally royal gift

Water droplets become liquid pearls, delicately balanced on milky white petals
Crowning gems sparkling jewels mist under lashes gleam

The beautiful white yellow sunlight all visible wavelengths of light refraction
Fluttering a rainbow promise under the bridge colors bright

The goddess of fertility, wealth and comfort her name Dana-Ana
A crowning beauty sings whom stands in every dream

Sitting on deep rocks a treasure who combs every feeling
Sea cradled her and she heard Neptune whisper .... so beautiful you are

With golden glowing fingers of emotions held captivated in her rays
Filled with warm love when evening shadows and stars turns out in the sky

Before there was a world or a word
there was unfathomable loneliness
in the gaseous expanse of pin pricked night
an infinite course of vibrations, sound
nascent, coalescing, gestating,
until planets ripening birthed with souls.

There was only the orb, the throbbing soul
and an unknown longing for word,
conduits formed synapses gestating
to wavelengths of crystalline loneliness,
the aching white noise, static, lack of sound,
and the wanderers of celestial night.

Man was born to such a daunting midnight
aqueous eyes and conical ears for soul
to shattering din’s discordant sound,
no bird song, no harmony, no words,
just an aging, aching, aloneness,
of random thoughts thus wordless gestating.

A rhythm of circular gestation
formed the day and lingering became night
and thus weakened, warmed the loneliness
with woman kind He brought her soul.
Ether resounded with sheet lightening, words
for those sounds were to souls, the God sound.

Strong, silibant streams of understood sound
released from the oval egg of gestation
songs formed as man combined the God like words
croonings of passion fill the nubile night
as joinings rolled-tidal of mated souls.
Word all powerful had freed loneliness.

Each creature gifted an end to loneliness
earth, water, fire ,wind, all given sound,
all graced beloved with shimmering souls,
hatched from the dragon’s egg, life gestates
into the bountiful passage of night.
Cherish the ever present presence of the Word.

No longer alone, a sound vibrating within
each atom relates to the soul, gestation continues
in the night's never-ending cycle of the Word's life.

Sounds of Life

As I hear clinks of your cups
I can listen to orange sounds in your ample eyes
I can hear your obvious highs as if nearing a sea
Morning in a humming bee
You are busy at the mild harsh and tasty sound
The butter knife spreading butter on the dark dense toast
For the person you love the most
Eloquent silence all around
Soft munching sound from inside our mouth
Mingles with the wind from south
The door bell chimes its beautiful tune
Like the monsoon
Then comes the rustling of newspaper pages
The train crossing so many bridges
Combines with the rhythmic drumming of the woodpecker
The sound of your stirring sugar
Bubbling of boiled water in the kettle
They settle
In a silent sound of a loud red lily in bloom at the window
As rain falls in a crescendo
The flip flop of your sandals
Passing into your bangles clinking together
Culminating in the slurp as we sip tea
Real moments of pure glee
A great strength
Against the various wavelengths
Of the bang bark bray
Throughout the day

About the Blue

Atmospheric perspective such a common ruse
You know way off in the distance a mirage of blue
Nitrogen and oxygen meet wavelengths above
A sky gathering that becomes a type of scattering
Creating the effect of a canvas mistakenly blue
A visual type of sorcery for the colour isn't true
Kind of like the occurrence within our blue eyes
A different sort of scattering makes a colour disguise
Not one person's eyes carry any cyan pigment
However we all do see this color eye so different
Vincent Van Gogh loved ultramarine and cobalt too
And Augustus Renoir used it primarily to set moods
From the mines in Afghanistan came lapis luzuli jewel
This adorned every Egyptian Crown to be sparkling blue
During the Renaissance marine was most commonly used
These are some facts of our favorite colour blue

I feel from the sting of your tale
tasting salt of an oceans breeze
burning under the embers
within a setting sun

Now entering one twilight zone
where all wavelengths are held inside light
slowly diminishing visions fade
as the darkness slowly invades

Sounds of the night called under a velvet curtain
where shadows begin their dance with the moonlight
faraway stars you cast your gaze upon us
incinerating blue blazes beholding

Float with me, my love, amid coral pink nebulae on the astral stagecraft
Surfing wavelengths ultraviolet, in close encounter of two dreamy hearts;
Oh, how charming it is, to woo romance in opal aura of stardust galaxies!
Glistening your happy smile, in sculptor’s blueprints upon blushed motifs
Like the ephemeral musings of burning meteoroids on ruby rose tapestry
Lost in the constellation’s scarlet orange tinges on kaleidoscopic imprints.

Static

`

Slandered wavelengths
from an old worn out speaker
cracking with each unbalanced bass note
Finding my brain on overload
and a slower heart beat
out of tune

Static becomes the union,
tuning dial gone, volume at high
glowing in the corner of cobweb melodies
lingering on a distant shelf
now sinking lower in this
roadside armchair (Where are the earplugs when you need them)

An empty bottled fortress
protects the pain at my feet,
brown glass soldiers stand guard,
bottle cap mementos flip
like dancing beans on a folding table
at El Mercado

One more for the road
(like I need this)
along crooked dotted lines, weaving nonsense
two at a time, smirking
snickering like children hiding from a babysitter,
mimicking the way

Still the static, white noise,
drowns out the joy and the trees cry,
when birdsong of night haunts with a sound
interrupting the dance of the
beer bottle chorus line
and I tap a painful toe

Colorful Fall

Carnelian and crimsons orchestrate eye music
Ornate as orange oboes that blare a fiery woo
Loud in the hills, flaring flutes of maroon thrill,
Oscillating in burgundy trills of a breezy banjo
Red rises in volumes that the silent trees hear,
For they farewell warmth, in sun-setting relief,
Undulating in vermillion wavelengths an adieu,
Lingering long in mellowing yellows, autumnal

Free leaves wind-whorl a gold saxophone-puff
As apples blush in whistles of a taupe wisteria
Looping branches bare-brown in tuned annual
Love-fest festooned in earthen melody eternal

Empyreal Heart and Soul

O Nebulae of Heart and Soul!
In infrared portrayal WISE,
your colors grace the stellar skies.
Have you a core celestial role?

Supernal presences you seem
that steal one’s fancy unawares,
far-off from earthly human cares,
inspiring a soulful dream.

Does music of the spheres resound
in utterness of heavens’ art
to beating of a boundless heart
we seldom hear here on the ground?

You bring to mind the vintage song,
where lovers fell in love and kissed
one magic night in moonlit mist—
a classic tune, still going strong.

Six thousand light-years from our Earth
is where you two evince your charm—
part of Perseus’ spiral arm—
in cosmic womb for starry birth.

That limb is in our Milky Way.
Cassiopeia holds the Soul
east of the Heart, to make the whole
of the mosaic on display.

Your archetypal names evoke
Cupid and Psyche myths of old,
tales allegorical untold,
poetic visions you awoke.

In concert you’re a perfect pair.
Befittingly you reign on high.
Lest we forget wherefore and why,
our true humanity is there!

 ~ Harley White

Inspiration for the poem came from the image and article “Heart and Soul”... at [www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/WISE/multimedia/wiseimage20100524.html]

[The Heart and Soul Nebulae are seen in this infrared mosaic from NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE. All four infrared detectors aboard WISE were used to make this image. Color is representational: blue and cyan represent infrared light at wavelengths of 3.4 and 4.6 microns, which is dominated by light from stars. Green and red represent light at 12 and 22 microns, which is mostly light from warm dust.]

What does it mean, to be green,
Referring to color, not politics or emotions.
There's some tints or hues, between yellows and blues;
With a lot of room, in between, for so many types of green.

There are some greens that actually say green:
Blue-green, yellow-green, light or dark green.
Other greens are just as real, for example: veridian,
Verdigris, chartreuse, teal, mantis and harlequin.

We've also seen, place names in green:
Dartmouth green, India green, forest green
Pakistan green, Paris green, sea green,
Cal Poly green, Persian green, office green.

Plants are mostly green, so many plant colors follow:
Artichoke, asparagus, honeydew, and avocado,
Apple, fern, lime, mint, olive, shamrock, forest, pistachio...
Anyone ever heard of phthalo?

What does it mean, to be green?
I, personally, get a thrill, out of chlorophyll.
All these greenish strengths, are really wavelengths
Of reflected light. We define which green is right.

Mgc

Straight rows of soft chairs, larval eyes stare blank
Absorbed by glowing colors on the wall
Their jaws slack, fetid whiff, unwashed and dank
Arrested minds the blue screen does enthrall

Their horticulture, growing docile strains
Indulge the twisted whims our lords conceive
The whores to culture, placid in their chains
Reclining prostrate, ready to believe

Our nation’s spirit sinking to expire
Omniscient demigods behind the screen
Transmuting our light to synthetic ire
Red, white, and blue bows to red, blue and green

Unconscious fulcrum, force you can’t deny
Black keys in gray hands of the puppet priest
Subliminal, no chance to wonder why
Clandestine reins pulled taut, they lead the beast

Imbue the symbol with gilt qualities
Admire how they conspire, our life rewired
Such dazzling tricks to blind the polity
In breaded, cheap amusements, we are mired

Our brave new virtual reality
With hidden craft, untruth is overlayed
Eclipsed sun darkens to totality
Beneath benighted noon we walk as day

Predicted, instinct’s base reaction known
To tidal waves of violence and sex
Minds titillated by distraction’s bone
From our Media-Government Complex

Our internecine hatreds stoked, inflamed
Creating and enhancing the divide
True culprits are protected, victims blamed
Incessant war, the great rift yawning wide

Unseemly freedoms have been made taboo
Renouncing power, most don’t even grieve
Relieved to give up guns and money too
Behind red tape and laws lurk skulking thieves

Resounding echoes, our once great New World
Through wavelengths, diodes, context redefined
Cold software guiding social plots unfurled
Far colder people fine-tune the hive mind

Inheritors of might presume the role
Unburdened by the ballast of remorse
Their dark ascent to power and control
Soul-searing wind as you climb to the source

Some zealots hold that this is Satan’s world
Each object of desire imbued with blight
Much clearer when the plan becomes unfurled
So glaring it becomes they have the right

This morbid monolith, our freedom’s bane
Temptation steals your breath, you’d best beware
Choose reason in a world that’s gone insane
Reclaim your only soul and say a prayer

In a Coastal Town

World shifts, the air thins
In a coastal town...
slatted blinds, every hue from
Warm reds to harsher blues
Hardwired to heaven
Homing instinct with
Different wavelengths
Sunlight scatters

They're more elusive
Ubiquitous in nature
Occasionally frightening
Peaceful yet troubled
Superficial beauty
Bewildering imperfections
Sunlight fades to darkness
What mischief, what gentle
Assistance they can give
In legend, lore
