Pickle Party

PICKLE PARTY

The pickles were having a party
In the superstore one night.
The manager was home in bed
So they knew they were all right.

It was a singles party,
Each looking for a mate.
Someone to share a jar with
Until their sell-by date.

One lady pickled pepper
Immediately clicked.
She was the pickled pepper
Peter Piper picked

A young girl in the corner
Was acting very silly
Under the influence of drink.
They called her ‘Pickled Lilli”

But the drunkest one among them
Was a pickled gherkin.
He’d been at the bar all evening.
He must have drunk a firkin.

He had a well-used chat-up line,
But whatever it was he said,
It must have been a bit saucy
For the beetroot turned bright red.

An old pickle said to the DJ,
“Please turn the music down”
He was a pickled walnut,
Ancient, wrinkled and brown

A very sweet pickle called Olive
And an onion got on very well.
But although they felt an attraction,
It was doomed to fail, sad to tell

They say that opposites attract
But you have to draw the line.
She had been pickled in vinegar
And he had been pickled in brine.

Then all too soon it was over.
The party had come and gone.
They had to go home to their shelves.
The day shift was signing on.

Football Fan

There once was a football fan from Philly
Who was known for being very silly
During the Eagles Super Bowl win
He dipped his chicken wings in gin
And gulped down Bud Light, dilly dilly

Silly Lilly

Once there was a miss by name Lilly,
Imitates to make others appear silly.
Pent-up feeling unleashed,
my pain of rejection eased.
Bloody Lilly, no good grief. Very very silly!

Kermit the Hermit

Lonesome Kermit
Was a hermit,
Living on a mountain, in a cave.

It was really very silly--
Worlds away from Piccadilly--
How that lonely cavern dweller did behave.

He was always in a quandary,
With no one to do his laundry
And he never found the time to wash or shave.

There is really no excuse
For style of that recluse,
And the way the fellow used to rant and rave.

For the whole span of his life,
Kermit never took a wife,
Cause he couldn't lure a woman to his cave.

Premium Member Stuttering and Stammering

While shopping for groceries, this sweet young filly
Bent over which made me act very silly
Accidentally bumped her behind
Which was quite well defined
Starting stuttering and stammering involuntarily

Being Green Is Not the Easiest Thing

Let's Have Some Fun Contest
Sponsor: Casarah Nance

I'll admit being green is not the easiest thing,
a frog looks very silly in a broken arm sling.

Yesterday Fozzie got a job singing at Shamrock Bar,
I told him I would drive cuz' it's not very far.

Out ran Rizzo the rat, stood like a deer in headlights,
I wanted to see Ms. Piggy later...oh, of all the nights!

Swerved and crashed into Rowlf's juniper dog house,
"oh I can't believe that annoying little mouse!"

Rowlf had the company of Animal and Gonzo,
what a sight to see Gonzo with an emerald afro!

We walked in to find a parakeet sleeping in moss,
"oh man, my arm hurts! It's about to fall off!"

I heard, “ARG! RAH!” Animal threw me a frozen lime,
I thought, “ will this really help? Pain is shooting to my spine!”

Then Scooter ran out with pickles, pears and olives,
Swedish Chef “Shmuf shaf”, was cooking basil and sage omelets!

I saw Staler and Waldorf cracking jokes in the balcony,
"I'm getting so annoyed, this is not the time for comedy!"

And who would have thought they would be the best greeters?
A first aid kit came out from Dr. Bunson and Beaker!

"Geez, I am feeling a little better, this injury is no biggie,
in walks my concerned lover, the bossy diva Ms. Piggy!

I'll admit being green is not the easiest thing,
a frog looks very silly in a broken arm sling.

The Clerihewer of the Fewer

If you orginally read this then, you would have seen it was a villanelle, actualy same it was the poem Hope, which I posted before this one. A very silly copy/paste error that was pointed out. Anyway fixed but original was too long now it's two poems. Thanks for reading.

He know returns the clerihewer of the fewer
Throwing his poetry soup idols in the sewer
With these naughty little lines of rhyme
It's MOSTLY in fun time after time

I think this is very long overdue
Of these I have written quite a few
Technically this one is out of form
With the rest I'll get back to the norm

I don't know what happened to our King of the quatrain
He's writing couplets and rhymes, but I won't complain
Just hopefully he doesn't ever do a free verse
Or I may have to break the rules and curse

Speaking of Jack the Quatrain King and cursing
He has an admirer of his poetry that's been rehearsing
I say that because who leaves comments before the coffee's even hot
I have my suspicions that Mr. Spivey is a robot

Once more with our King to what level does he make me stoop
I left a comment for a poem that contained in the title, Betty Boop
But haha my comment was the first to post
Too bad my house still reeks of burnt toast

I have always written alone, but now enterred a contest of group
With a green eyed girl that once wrote a poem about dog poop
I just had a little fun with it, but never asked her why
Because no one else would write about it was her reply

No if you're going to enter a teamwork contest do it with a Star
For surely you'll have a lot more chances to go very far
Of a thousand different jokes I could make
I'm going to leave it at that for my soul's sake

She seems like a sweet Welsh girl, but I think she has some fire inside
I think if she get's mad the best tatic would be to run and hide
Hopefully I won't let my big mouth get me into that situation
I'll let my words do all of my confrontation

I have always included the great PD in these
But I haven't talked to her in a while and couldn't ask her please
I won't take liberty at this time, I will first reflect
Really it's just a statment of respect

April Love

On a frozen April morning when the frost was in the trees
There was blossom like a snowstorm as the sun warmed up the breeze
There were blackbirds making music teaching angels how to sing
While the bees began to forage, golden humbugs on the wing

Daffodils were slowly swaying under bushes turning green
And a bluetit woos his lady in a spot he thinks unseen
There's a fox that's heading homeward jumping fences on the way
Everything is looking perfect as the spring gets underway

As I whistled to the starlings that were sweeping up the street
And I skipped along the pavements missing cracks with both my feet
I was feeling very silly under skies so clear and blue
And it's all your fault my darling since you whispered "I love you"

Premium Member What If

What if God hadn’t planned the world,
in his exact and perfect way?
He might have left out all the flowers,
that brighten up the day.
If he hadn’t made the sun so bright
or the moonlight so subdued,
how would that affect the ocean’s tide,
or the growing of our food?
Perhaps the bees and butterflies,
would not fit in the scheme
and we’d go to sleep in daylight
and were never meant to dream.
If the sunrise and the sunset
did not come in Technicolor
and the sky was always darkest gray,
or some hue even duller;
if the only animal he made,
was the hippopotamus
or maybe just for fun he’d add
the big rhinoceros
and the others things He gave us,
were slugs and bugs and such;
do you think we would be happy?
Would we like that very much?
And now I’ve had a dreadful thought.
I’m elated its not true.
Suppose in his forgetfulness,
He’d forgotten to make you.
Would he see how very sad I was,
if I had never met you?
That’s a very silly question, ‘cause
God never could forget you.

                                                                   For Desiree's contest "What If"

Premium Member Cat Observations

Trust is so much a part
of every relationship –
I mean, I love my cat,
but he has this disconcerting
way of sleeping with one
eye open, as if checking out
the terrain, listening for
incoming -- well, he's
either a very silly, typical
paranoid cat...or they
know the human soul
a lot better than we admit
to.

Cats seem to have two basic
instincts: start and run – while
mankind has 3: more, more, and
more....

I was going to cut the grass today;
then thought, as with dust, grass can
wait till tomorrow – unlike laundry and
cat litter that seem to ferment awfully –
therefore, some must-do chores were
gotten too...while executing the
routine tasks I wondered, why do
I hang-on so? A little kitty meowed.

At the Moment. . .

Long ago before many days and months,
At the days we shared everything,
There was a twilight- that
Noticed the things we did. .

Other than that none spotted our chats.
And the allocated time to
Assign our remotely done works
There U pulled me unto u. .

I lost not only myself but
Also my customs of originality
Never ever wondered it would happen. .

We laughed, we cried, we played by
Imagining our every sweats was true
My nail marks in your chest
Your lip marks on my cheeks. .

Could not judge it right or wrong- since
We’re paired as couples in each dreams
Embraced our weakest shape links
We got lost along the ways. . .

Never comes the days wherein-
our hands together in my bed,
	your arms around my waist,
	our affectionate kisses at surface,
	your pull dragging my wrist,
each of ours admiration and motivation,

	our doting numerous nick names,
	a very silly fights
and a tight hugs after them,
	hot spellbind looks.

	Lost myself in subconscious migration-when
	U hypnotized my eye balls.
whilst these all happened for abundant days
	including our mutual breakup. .

Became conscious only after everything got over
Every single moment flashed within a micro second,
when I saw u through my bus window at yours-where
U was found acting asleep with hands enclosing your face
And realized I was vanished at the moment. . .

Beer Is Just Fine

Without any doubt or fear

my favourite drink is surely beer,

anything from pale, to brown ale

in fact any beer that's on sale,

never halves, only pints or larger

stout, bitter, Smooth or golden lager,

wonderful taste of malt and hops

produced from ripe natural crops,

must be drunk cold never warm

drinking good beer will do no harm,

beer surely doesn't cause a beer belly

drink too much makes you very silly,

you can keep your spirits and wine

a good pint of beer to me is just fine,

beer is drunk north, south, east and west

every Country thinks their beers the best.

Premium Member The Birds On the Farm

Ten years ago, there was a cock
Who lived up to his name.
For though he left us all well-fed,
He left the yard in shame.

Replaced was he by one who was
A very silly goose.
That goose got cooked; he cooked himself;
A danger being loose!

And with him was a vulture,
And that vulture sure was mean.
He swooped down, getting us in war
that plucked us all quite clean.

I could not rest until the two of them
Were good and gone,
Praying I’d not have to watch
That grey goose on the lawn.

Another - grinning, wrinkly-necked -
On TV bobble-bobbling,
Paced with worn-out rhetoric
He was fond of gobble-gobbling.

And by him was his sidekick,,
Female version of a “Quayle.”
I hoped inside the white barn
that chick would never dwell.

The other bird, a darker fowl,
“said” he didn’t want a war.
He was called by some a “chicken"
But at least cared for the poor!

So for November’s bird
He was voted on one day -
The turkey that was chosen
Before Thanksgiving Day.

Two years have past and nothing's changed
The same old cuckoo song.
And I don’t see a good bird yet
To even come along.

How sad there’s no bird like the one
who from a forest came,
Then presided in the white barn.
Now a statue bears his name.

Like an eagle, symbol of
this stretch of land was he.
But since his time, few birds have flown
much higher than a tree.

It’s geese and quails and chickens
and turkeys growing here
while people on this vast great land
are filling up with fear.

I'd hoped our newest turkey were
an eagle in disguise,
and that he’d get to take us soaring
into bluer skies.

For how much longer can our farm
keep running all amuck,
in which case we’re all better off
electing Donald Duck!

No, dear reader, this is not an April Fool's prank piece. It's merely a bit of nonsense for this very silly day...

Alice asked Tweedledee,
"What is logic?"
Tweedle thought for a moment then said,
"Though I never before have considered the question,
Here's how it rolls 'round in my head"
A thing that is so just might well be,
If that isn't too abstrusely quaint,
But I really don't see
How a thing that can't be
Can be anything other than ain't".
