Cat Observations

Trust is so much a part
of every relationship –
I mean, I love my cat,
but he has this disconcerting
way of sleeping with one
eye open, as if checking out
the terrain, listening for
incoming -- well, he's
either a very silly, typical
paranoid cat...or they
know the human soul
a lot better than we admit
to.

Cats seem to have two basic
instincts: start and run – while
mankind has 3: more, more, and
more....

I was going to cut the grass today;
then thought, as with dust, grass can
wait till tomorrow – unlike laundry and
cat litter that seem to ferment awfully –
therefore, some must-do chores were
gotten too...while executing the
routine tasks I wondered, why do
I hang-on so? A little kitty meowed.

Thank you so much, Lisa; Joyful that this one gave you pause to smile and relate. Inspired by my cats, a few years ago I put out a little book of cat poetry, and drawings. It was a fond labor of admiration and love. Joe.

Cats are sulky, sultry and Wiley, they make us love them through their clever characteristic traits, they are cuddly as well and soothing when you need a cat to cuddle and her shoulder to cry on. But they are shrewd, still we love them as they are, always chilled out! Loved this poem Joe. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

They are such a hoot; love your analysis! Was lying in bed last night, forgot to close the door, and felt a little nose pressed softly against mine, and a furry little body pressed into my shoulder, as if it were a baby. A Zen moment. Blessings, Joe.

Hello Joe ... cats have a mind of their own and do what they do when they want to do it. Even so, they are great company to come home to - thank you Joe - Lindsay

Beautifully & lighty reported, "basic instincts," too/2. I loved the movie for all the wrong reasons. But your 2 basic I stincys of cats, 3 more & more & more - fir us humans - that takes the bun. Lots of fun truths

This made me smile Joe. We have a cat we raised from a kitten. Her world is inside but she is happy and rules her domain with her squeaky meow. Wouldn’t have it any other way! Blessings xxoo

Hi Connie; I have two, and we also do not let them out for their safety -- so, they get the run of the house...and they do own it. I made a special extension in the back of the house, where it is all screened in but it feels somewhat like being outside (lots of birds, trees and feral cat visitors). I have 3 cat trees, and a bunch of other little things for them to jump over and around. And they get a lot of our attention so it is not too bad for them. Joe.

The cat in a catbird's seat definitely. A refreshing piece Joe, encourages me to get a pet.

Lot's of cats in shelters just waiting for you. They are great. They are great protectors. When I come home, and they are not in window waiting for me, which means they are hiding, It's heads-up! Joe.

Fun to travel the rabbit trail with you - pondering your cat, your love for him and how he makes even your chores worthwhile with a simple meow.

Hi Kim; they are so cute, I live with two. Thank you. I have learned some very large lessons about love, from sizes much smaller than myself. Blessings my friend. Have a beautiful day!
