The Narcissistic Neanderthal

Like an archaic humanoid dinosaur
you plunder through life taking no prisoners,
with your philosophical knuckles dragging on the ground.
You are a dying breed born of privilege and tenacious greed,
tendering little in life other than your selfish need.
What is it you seek in life other than your very personal comfort?
You never give a sideways glance to anyone with no chance of adding to your
circumstance; narrow minded cruelty subsidies the shutdown of any
tenderness, allowing emotional banalities to supersede integrity.
Your karmic debt is too cancerous to be free -
a lover of women among inept men,
but piteous fodder for contempt among strong women.
Neanderthal, you tossed love off the tongue like spit flung and stung my cheek with
runny dung....in disgust I turn away at your insipid attempt at manhood.
So many conquests, so little time.
The pittance you gave is but a trail of unwitting shame,
littered like Gretel's bread crumbs into a wilderness of pain...
How sad you thought such a pittance could buy my soul.
I am no longer a member of your colonial servitude,
and you are an inept fossil long past its prime.
                 From this moment, Narcissistic Neanderthal,

I am free.

Hello, My Name Is

Before I start this is a very personal poem to me. So please be nice in the comments. Also if you have a question about it Soupmail me about it. Well here it goes.

Hello my name is...
Isn't this party great
Hello my name is...
Let's get to know each other
Hello my name is...
Can I but you a drink
Hello my name is...
I think I like you
Hello my name is...
Let's go somewhere we can be alone
Hello my name is...
That girl you won't remember in the morning
Hello my name is...
I can show you a good time
Hello my name is...
I can show you a good time
Hello my name is...
At least until you get tired of me
Hello my name is...
Just keep you voice down
Hello my name is...
No one will ever know
Hello my name is...
I promise, they always promise.
Hello my name is...
I can never recover
Hello my name is...
You stole that chance away
Hello my name is...
Low self esteem
I feel like I have nothing else to take
So instead I just give
I've struggled for years
But I got tired of saying no
In a voice you never heard
Like I could be happy
Like I could forget the life stolen from me
Like I could pick up the pieces of my porcelain heart
And put it back together
Make it whole somehow
Like I could just forget what happened
Like I wouldn't remember that night
It just doesn't work that way
Now all my encounters start out as
Hello my name is...
I can't even remember anymore
Hello my name is...
Whatever you want to call me Sir
Hello my name is...
No longer a way I can identify myself
Hello my name is Brittany Larson
Why don't you tell me your name
Why don't we get to know each other
Just remember my story is a long one
It all started with
Hello my name is...
And he never let me finish

Saturday
The day she rewrote herself
No more sad songs
With livelier tunes she sings along
She has welcomed the call of opposites
When she wishes to be alone she calls a friend
If she is sad she tries on happy
At first a game of pretend

She changes her hair
Relishes how the young men stare
Subtle differences from the outside in
She knows all things have to begin
One step at a time
Rewritten line by line

This all feels like a Dream
The changes pick up steam
She now looks in the mirror
She's not confronted by fear
She doesn't look away
Her life has become OK

Not a simple chore
But this woman wanted more
Tired of waiting
Locked behind a dark door
That was not the life
She had been made for

That other her
Has gone away
Endless night
Exchanged for day

Reality from imagination
The person she is was there
She may not have known
Yet others were aware
Butterfly wings
Beauty redefined
Etched in bright colors
Spread out with her mind

Paradise - Contest

Paradise is where your happiest
A very personal thing.
Remembering sunny days,
An ice cream cone, a diamond ring.
Dancing in the moonlight
I would snuggle into your chest
Softly touching your skin, was my delight,
Easily, loving you, was paradise at best

I Sought To Touch All The Burning Fires

This moment is not for being lazily idle
in the distance starting gunshot sounds
This racehorse needs no governing bridle
Race like the rabbit running from the hounds

Wind streams by as I run to nothing ahead
behind lay unfullfilled , selfish desires
Images of Gods and demons flash in my head
as I seek to touch all the burning fires

Yet hope promises a future great release
a settled place for my lost soul to rest
Can I find that light to set me at peace
this lost bird fallen from my safe nest

Aware of my great failings I surrender to fate
Crying for mercy, praying it is not too late

 Robert J. Lindley, 03-16-2015

Note, this is an edited, shortened piece of the original written long ago..
The original was so much longer and very personal in
 language and scope.

Premium Member Your Sparkling Friends At Ps

They almost are sisterly or brotherly.
What's more their care for you extends beyond lovely.
These friends are not, flash in the pans.
They are there for you, whenever they can.

They write you very, very personal mail.
And share what's happening in their life's travails.
When you are not at PS, they are concerned.
Trust me, by them, you are never spurned.

They are the brightness of your days.
At night, on your pillow, you think of them in high praise.
Like butterflies, they help make your days beautiful,
With you, their words are florever truthful.

Stunning and sparkling, like stars in the shy.
You thank your God for them, and never ask why!

A Man of Integrity

Today, the local daily papers highlighted a man of honour...
Deserving of his honorific title Datuk bestowed on men of honour...

Given his loud and strident calls for those holding the reins of power....
To better buck up in all matters of governance, to honour pledges while in power..

From relative obscurity, this quiet man has been religiously executing his duties...
As a number 2 man in the high office called the Special Branch, overseeing matters of security...

Given that his beloved nation now staggers under a yoke of suspicion and bad governance....
He is steadfast in his intergrity pledge of topmost quality service to the king and nation...

Loud is his urgings for civil servants to uphold pledges of intergrity and loyalty...
It is obvious his strong conviction is born out of a man of the highest principles...

Befitting the post of the Special Branch deputy director....
Today's interview in The Star provides an insight into his character...

Clearly it shows he is not easily cowed under political pressure..
And most admirably, not seduced by subtle promises from political masters...

Headlined as From Special Branch top cop to enemy of the state...
His candour in this news piece is credit to his character...

He knows where his loyalty lies and he is highly principled...
Admitting that he deliberated well and hard before he launched....

Some very personal and opinionated statements that jeopordised his career.....
When in fact he has merely 1000days more to see the tail end of his career...

What a ignominous exit for the country's top cop because of his stand on integrity...
How many other officers in the goverment dares stand up to uphold such integrity....

This dedicated man daringly calls each spade by its name and no other names will do...
Even as in this complex society we live in, a wrong can be whitewashed with blinded loyalty...

If only there are more politicians and statesman of this datuk's quality...
Our country will not be suffering from escalating racial prejudice...

Or economic ills that is plaguing our posperity and currency...
Are there more men of integrity and high principles..

Are there more such men to help steer this troubled country...?

Premium Member My Wife's Purse

The other day I was rootin' around in my spouse's purse,
And was astounded by the contents that were so diverse.
If caught, I'd surely have hell to pay or maybe even worse,
And fer that very reason I shall never share with her this verse!

I was lookin' fer the spare car keys since mine I had displaced,
But was careful not to disturb her 'valuables' in my sneaky haste!
I discovered a broken pencil stub and a half-eaten Snickers bar,
A Wrigley's chewin' gum wrapper and the lid of a Mason pickle jar!

Diggin' further I found a dozen lipsticks in various sizes and hues,
And fer some reason her bag contained a couple of 3-inch screws!
Her wallet had a stash of cash that fer some reason she was hordin',
And curiously among other things was a photo of the King of Jordan!

I found an old 1980 date book which seemed to me of little use,
And wads and wads of used Kleenex which I found rather abstruse.
There was an assortment of finger nail files and emery boards,
Outdated grocery coupons and various threads, strings and cords.

I never did find the car keys after goin' through all the trouble.
They're probably lost without a trace 'midst all that useless rubble!
Thankfully, I didn't get caught or they'd be haulin' me off in a hearse,
Fer furtively rootin' around in my spouse's very personal purse!

I Will Rise, Above Heart's Weakness
(I Will Rise Above -MY - Heart's Weakness)

Shall I bend, to your massive will
break chains of my aching heart
Or with infinite time wait until
life gives love's sweeter restart

Shall I cry, into your bad heart
show pain dripping in blood
Or wait until we dare race apart
in a deluge waiting to flood

Should I weep, for your mistakes
eat truth to save your soul
Beg forever even more hard retakes
and love burning like a coal

Should I grovel, in abject shame
a man dying in his despair
A fool uncaring of his family name
begging again without a care

I will look, again into dark eyes
fight blackness that stares back
Choose to forget your very bad lies
seek deeper love that you lack

I will rise, above heart's weakness
cut out my longing love needs
Forget your sexy body and sleekness
which my dream forever feeds

Voices In My Head

Suddenly a voice appears
I hear it in my mind,
within my head not in my ears
not of the normal kind.

But it is clear as any voice
as far as I can tell
and speaks within my inner self
of things I have to tell.

But making others listen
is a task I have to bear,
for it's me who is the medium
and their words I have to share.

As feelings, thoughts and pictures
mix with words within my mind
I know to whom they’re speaking
and the one I have to find.

So I then bring through the person
whose earthly life has past
to the friend who really miss them
since their body breathed its last.

Bringing very personal memories
to confirm they are their friend
with several words of comfort
to prove death is not the end.

When their meeting’s finally over
I know both have been set free
from the sharpest edge of grieving
for the friend they'd never see.

Whichever's your religion
or whatever your belief
it's not knowing if death's final
that intensifies your grief.

But when a friend who knows you
gives you proof death's not the end
you'll then know life's just a journey
for you’ve shared it with your friend.

But I am just the medium
who hears voices in my head,
the proof and understanding
you'll get only from the 'dead'.

~Author's Notes:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. ...
- Genesis 1: 1-31

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
-Hebrews 11:3

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14: 6

And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. Revelation 22:19

App-Ology

There was a man who did a deed,
though not of hate, or even greed
'twas innocent, or so he thought
'til everyone was overwrought

They crossed their arms
and stomped their feet,
one sent out an angry tweet
another just unfriended him
then instagram-med him looking grim

He sank into a deep, deep funk
how could one free of sin debunk
these angry people's thought's about
his deed, indeed he had some doubt

Had he done wrong and misbehaved?
Would his reputation, e'er be saved ?
How could he fix this sorry state
where all he knew, now all knew hate?

His mind began to twist and turn
he thought of all he'd ever learned
of the mind of man (and woman too)
what words would work, perhaps a few
could he deploy to change their minds
and quickly put this funk behind?

And then, a spark; a flash of brilliance
a solution that could work for millions!

He'd write some code, something really cool
not just fix his problem; he'd make a tool
so the next time, well really, just in case
he'd ever need to save some face
he wouldn't have to think so much
of right and wrong and hurt and such
that took so long and felt so bad
and made him feel so very sad

And so he used some elbow-grease
and wrote himself a masterpiece
a java applet that all could use
when they really needed a good excuse

Just point it at your address book
(though you may want to give it one quick look)
and make sure your bosses' name ain't there
though in truth, he probably wouldn't care
to read your very personal regret
or if he did, he'd likely forget

Your mea culpa then gets sent
to everyone who may resent
your gaffe, or blunder or big faux pas
whatever's making your nerves raw
a personal email from you, to UNSUPPORTED CODE
that simply says, I TAKE THE BLAME!
