Best Unsettled Poems
While whispers shush on sheltered shores, as soon the cockcrow quakes,
the seas descry a skittish sky, sense summer zephyrs wake –
roused passions neath the sunrise pulse, the whitecaps throb and ache.
Along the crests crawl shallow shades the soaring sun effaces
and rains in streams enhance the dreams that fantasy embraces
while ocean sprays of yesterdays reveal forsaken faces.
The midday sun has slowed its run, a shrinking puddle steams,
between the knells of shattered shells drift soaring seagulls’ screams –
the beauty wends but never ends, or so it surely seems.
At dusk a ruddy disk descends, the skyline's furnace burns
and neath the swells where Neptune dwells, an undercurrent churns –
a seahorse hides and seaweed bides until the tempest turns.
While twilight hosts the winds with ghosts of barbed electric spangles,
a mermaid braves the crashing waves adorned with starfish bangles –
her spirit yearns in twists and turns entwined in rockweed tangles.
As seven stranded seamen scan the dimple-dappled moon,
a brace of surly Sirens serenade a lonely loon –
the breakers pound and sometimes sound a melancholy tune.
Soon gales ignite the briny night and rip the skies askew
with zigzag teeth flashed deep beneath a blazing bolt tattoo –
storms, spent, subside in ebbing tides, then all begins anew.

Rhyme
My eyes grow heavy,
Yet I can't sleep,
My soul feels weighted,
But I can't weep
I dream on
Without the hope I need
I need to talk
Yet my tongue's not freed
I clutch my pillow,
I cling to the thought
Of how we met,
And why we fought
It all seems so silly now,
And I wonder why
We could let this stand
And let love die
Pure "saving face"
Holds me back,
Especially since
Your verbal attack
Being a person,
No easy thing,
You've left your nest
And the protection of
Your mother's wing
Should i call?
Or hold out?
Be the weak one?
Or stand and shout?
Oh, Lord, please guide me
Let me know
The way to be...
I roll over in bed again,
And turn on the light,
But light doesn't help.
I have no sight...
Indecision means inaction
I start to groan,
To lose your love,
A fear greatly grown
Turn off the light,
Again to bed
In many ways,
Wishing I was dead.

Dramatic Monologue
There is unrest in my heart
they say things depend on
the sight of the beholder
each seeing from a different view.
They say men are men
and women are alien
perhaps it is men who
are actually the outsiders?
They talk at us and down to us
rarely seeing another's view.
Is it any wonder we tear our hair out
trying to understand their whims.
Obsessive about what they feel important
uncaring about all else.
Why should it matter?
After all they are all important.
It is their wishes and desires
that come always first.
What does it matter about others?
I AM ALRIGHT JACK.
That seems to be their chant
oh my dear, why are you upset?
Surely it is enough to take care
of all my important needs?
I am too busy to talk right now
you can have one hour in twenty four.
As you well know in between playing
sixteen plus hours on my game.
I must then spend a couple of hours
pampering both the cat and plant.
Then I must check the garden too
See I really have no more time to spare.
Run me here and there
and sit up to an hour
waiting for me in your car
oh wow, this time I can also go in.
More sitting around then home
to be faced with more of the same.
I ask you is this living?
the sole purpose of my life?
Oh no I am worth far more
it is time for things to change.
No slave or skivey am I, but
a free spirit that needs to fly.
So wise up darling or ship out
cause else it will not work.
Equality in all is my motto
not just the left over scraps!!!

Unsettled Calm
Why am I writing this,
when they say...
really no one cares?
I don't believe they are right.
The more "they" try to prove themselves,
the more "they" show who they really are,
and their true intentions.
"No one." is out there. Just like me.
Wondering if there is anyone left,
that is still trying to make things
different than they are?
"No one" has not given up.
They are simply feeling alone.
Altogether we are empty,
but as one we are full.
The object lesson is to wake up
and live the time that is passing.
Not just pass through.
Tiny hearts,
courageous, brave souls...
the remnant of the whole,
left behind to remind
others about the coming...
of the Lord
on that day "we" will pray,
thanksgiving at last.

Just like the tumble weed that rolls across the empty desert floor…unsettled was her
ability to love compassionately and just like the winds that blew during a ragging storm at sea…unsettled was her heart in its ability to believe in a real love that could ever be, like a broken record she always seemed to missing out in what a real love could or might ever really be, instead she stayed focused on distorted dreams of what an abuser said a real love should be.
So, many dark clouds that had passed in and out of her life over the years had distorted her reality and robbed her of the visions to see, what a real love could be.
She spent the rest of her life in a bottle and locked inside self imposed prison by her passed lovers and unsettled but not by me. A foolish person always wants to have everything without out putting in the work. A truly blessed and wise person accepts and works hard to keep what they have and hardly ever wants for nothing but they get it all in the end.

Light Verse
Unsettling the evening brings with it cold
As the night holds the last of the warmth
Burrows of her brow lives likely to unfold
And her heart leaves with it dire and soft
The night holds mysteries from her heart
Unsettling the evening brings with it cold
Where she buries her feelings to impart
Burrows of her brow lives likely to unfold
She freezes where men bring her flowers
The night holds mysteries from her heart
The time is elongated by the night towers
Where she buries her feelings to impart
No other person can understand her eyes
She freezes where men bring her flowers
It’s one of a many distinguished disguise
The time is elongated by the night towers
She forces herself to embellish the night
No other person can understand her eyes
Softly she extinguishes nearly gone sight
It’s one of a many distinguished disguise
As the night holds the last of the warmth
She forces herself to embellish the night
And her heart leaves with it dire and soft
Softly she extinguishes nearly gone sight

Title: Unsettled Gain
A letter from moon came with hopeful
Scattering calm and peace for earth’s human beings
Opening window I found smile in face of the moon
Demanding surety of peace not only keeping words
Rays of the sun whipped encircling rostrum
Stop such non physical matter address, next
Bombs and bullets are today’s religion
Why you aren't understanding phases of human beings!
People say, hear, religion emerged from cowardice
Stop to allure me O sun, as you are your burn
You, cannot bring mild gentle numbness
Which requires through dialogue, peace, born
No, brother religion is gain of knowledge
To bring in rest for unsolicited mind and kind
To bring harness of unity and justification
I know more than you because bright reigns religion
A culture of natural brother hood accepting other dues
A pure science of trust and perfection at least to meet God in heart
Which enables to proclaim realisation of heaven or destination
Farther beyond human beings’ knowledge.

Blank verse
Staring into the night as time slowly ticks away,
Pondering things of life and why they happen this way.
Sleep evades the eyes of age like thoughts that are fleeting.
Deafened ears can hardly hear the heart that is beating.
There are thoughts that haunt an unsettled heart,
When life appears to have fallen apart.
Giving no thought to a life of one's own,
Lifting up others, pedestal or throne...
Then the silence gets louder as the darkness shines bright,
The eyes open wider as the soul gets a fright.
Those that defined this life, they all go away.
I stare into the night just thinking this way.
I find sleep with out rest for peace can't be found.
My hand on my chest my heart it does pound.
All around are busy in life, children, parents, husband and wife.
And when life begins to slip away, who will hold my hand?

Summer on I-10
old van,
no air conditioning
furnace oven days
long hot tiring
pushing on
dark night
stop for directions
abandoned buildings
streetlamp
roadmap
landscape moving
like waves on the ocean
What the hell
Open door look at ground
no ground
only endless carpet
of locusts
far as the eye can see
moving rolling
chilling
slam door take off
I remember
crunching sound under tires
for miles
I shiver

~ Welcome to 2022 ~
A time of conventional and possibly nuclear war
where no one can be sure what each side stands for
A time of global power struggles and shifting alliances
in which the old world order cannot be relied on
A time of soaring cryptocurrencies with no real-world basis
challenging existing monetary systems' homeostasis
A time of 'social media' controlling folks' minds'
with algorithm-based feeds both cruel and unkind
A time of pandemics and variants, one after the other
when masked men fear to shake the hand of their brothers
A time of 'us against them,' secular versus religious
of simmering hatreds on the cusp of explosions prodigious
A time of lightning-fast change so shocking and weird
the dominant emotion around us is fear...

Autumn has begun unsettled
That season with fickled weather
Not it alone three others meddled
In it though I find great pleasure
Coolness turning of autumn leaves
Fancy ballgowns for deciduous trees
Just for fun!

Verse
There’s not much to love in the land of
72 ounce steaks
Air-conditioned grace droning over
AR-15 soaked Saturdays
Remembering is not the problem these days
Rather it is forgetting that
Children can have new names
If they pick them up with their own hands
The bootstraps have all but worn off
these snakeskin boots
And I am tired of something I can’t put my mind to yet
But I never thought I would love
Bird feces soliloquies
Thanksgiving apart from family
Humidity on top of humidity
Or evenings that never turn to nights
So I’ll just hold my own name
Firmly in soiled hands until I can
Plant it back in the ground
Where it belongs, beside a cool swift stream
Shaded by a bigleaf maple

Integrated feeling
Connected and willing
Comes on a unexpected reeling ...
Feeling confused, that's what we're feeling
Sensitive souls just knock knock
The words of soft , We need to unlock
Learnt to discard the fregile feeling ,
To engage the feeling of hard rock ...
Stroke the soul silently to silence ...
Sincerely realise the loves abundance
Say the calming sentence
Engage trust hearts. Release tense.Smile, dance
