It Is the Most Unsettled of Times, the Most Unsettling of Times

~ Welcome to 2022 ~

A time of conventional and possibly nuclear war
  where no one can be sure what each side stands for

A time of global power struggles and shifting alliances
  in which the old world order cannot be relied on

A time of soaring cryptocurrencies with no real-world basis
  challenging existing monetary systems' homeostasis

A time of 'social media' controlling folks' minds'  
  with algorithm-based feeds both cruel and unkind

A time of pandemics and variants, one after the other
  when masked men fear to shake the hand of their brothers
  
A time of 'us against them,' secular versus religious
  of simmering hatreds on the cusp of explosions prodigious

A time of lightning-fast change so shocking and weird
  the dominant emotion around us is fear...

A couple of friends are gone (passed away). Most are in Poland. A few have gone from Poland to Germany. 4 million plus refugees outside the country already. Over 12.5 million displaced within the country... This is the worst scenario since WW2. :) gw

Debra L Brown March 31, 2022 at 11:04 AM Gershone, we certainly are living in Perilous time as a Christian we have been taught about this very issue (prophecy) in the Bible. I'm not sure where the Jewish people stand on this. As someone well versed in the Jewish tradition and Holy Scriptures, I certainly respect your views as we worship the same God. I enjoyed poem.
