Notes About The Poem

Shiver

Summer on I-10

old van,

no air conditioning

furnace oven days

long hot tiring

pushing on

dark night

stop for directions

abandoned buildings

streetlamp

roadmap

landscape moving

like waves on the ocean

What the hell

Open door look at ground

no ground

only endless carpet

of locusts

far as the eye can see

moving rolling

chilling

slam door take off

I remember

crunching sound under tires

for miles

I shiver
