Best Too Soon Poems
One windy night upon my breast
I felt the kiss of winter’s breath
A breath that blew me into flight
Upon my breast one windy night
A leaf once green now bathed in red
With coat of spring and summer shed
True color bursting at the seams
Now bathed in red a leaf once green
Upon your breath I learned to fly
A flame of glory in the sky
Not knowing that the price was death
I learned to fly upon your breath
But all too soon I came and went
The seasons of my life were spent
A bud in spring that came to bloom
I came and went - but all too soon
So, here we are again, my dear
Our wondering hearts are trembling with fear
Of the step we took in the pale moonlight
Now, beholding each other in the bright sunlight.
Remember our plan? We'll take it slow
We'll allow our hearts and love to grow
Without the pressure of passion released
Too soon - but now, where do we go?
Is it time for us now to say good bye -
Do we gather ourselves and give it a try;
Are we done, my love, and now we start
On a future that tears our love apart?
Oh, help me now to understand
How we lost control of our senses and
That now, our passion being fulfilled
We ponder if our love is stilled.
Yes, here we are again, sweet dear,
Two wondering hearts now filled with fear
For the step we took while under the Moon
Was it too soon, my love - too soon?
All alone in a bush downstream
Where not a soul was likely to dwell
Pinned against the green grasses, a young girl
Injecting her ruthlessly, a cruel hunk
At my sight, off he fled
A rape victim an innocent soul
Her mind drifts into the abyss of sorrow
As red fluid streams down her thighs
Reaching out for a nearby leaf
Just to clear off the mess
Her heart,heavy in her ribs
Up I lifted and embraced her as the
torrent of her tears soaks through my shirt
I could hear her silent screams
As she tries to hold back the seething torrent
Holding on to her nerves,
She suffocates with each breath
For he had sucked out the life in her
Painfully, she groans 'Adieu my dignity'
Gone too soon, her virginity
Time and time again,
As the steady stream trickles down her face,
Her lower lip quivers
Her eyes, the colour of moss and dirt
Shoveled together
As if a black mist had settled upon her
The day bright, but the torrid sun she could not feel
The sonorous song of birds, less could she hear
Sadness, her nightingale
Tainting her joy
Inside her heart, a piercing thorn
As sharp and incisive
As the stroke of a fang
A visit to the great beyond,
Her last resort
Sharply, her pains I inhale
Sitting below my skin,
The depth of her piercing thorn
Round her thin dark hair, my hand hovers
Just to calm her intra-personal war
'Young girl', said I then to her
Brighter than the stars, the future
For the past can you change not'
Too dark, today's night
Too bright, tomorrow's sun
To wind back the hand of time
And save her day, my desire
To her, the world was lost
Off she sadly went!
Permanent joy, all but a task
You're fat
Yelled at
Abused
Misused
Sad sighs
Soft cries
Left home
To roam
The streets
Not sweet
Too quick
Turned tricks
Too soon
Was ruined
On dope
No hope
In jail
No bail
Unsung
Died young
Escaped! furtive glances
Manifest of enchanted trances
Arrested by crimson faces averted
Too soon, too soon, they'd flirted
The air yearned with sensation
Surreptitious, delicious anticipation
Peering deeply into each other's eyes
Too soon, too soon, they'd rhapsodized
Tilted heads on swooning necks
Lips toward targets puckered, flexed
The moment arrived, two souls to merge
Too soon, too soon, they'd felt the urge...
Somberly returned, Cupid's bent arrow to its quiver
Too soon, too soon, murmured love's melancholy river
I sat at your table
I’m sure, I was 5.
The first time I learned
About being alive.
Helicopter landed in
The field, Right out back.
No time to finish eating,
Rushed out, forced to pack.
Stayed with a neighbor
I barely knew
And then the next day,
Said goodbye to you.
And when you’re 5,
One minute your there,
Healthy, alive.
And the next your gone,
I visit a stone.
No one tells you
How to be alone
Because some lessons
You shouldn’t have to learn at 5.
A flower smiles
A tree shrugs off the golden bird.
Over the hill the red moon shines
And the blue sun is ashamed
To rise so late.
I seek to hold the nonsense
In my head and speak with
Tongues of liquid fire as
Time flows sideways back
From disaster to apocalypse.
And then I wake
and all
Is as it was.
Too soon to sleep again.

The flag flies over this land of the brave and the free
as a symbol of the liberty enjoyed by you and me.
It flutters in the breeze of a quiet afternoon
reflecting sounds of battles in which men died too soon.
The flag flies overhead in cities and in towns
where people seek a haven from worlds turned upside-down.
It tries, gallantly, to honor, on quiet afternoons,
memories of warriors -- young men who died too soon.
The flag flies overhead -- unseen, by some, it seems,
who hurry on their separate ways in search of private dreams.
It waves farewell then, it appears, with the rise of the evening moon,
it gently reaches out to touch the men who died too soon.
Author's note:
This was written some years ago to honor our fallen warriors
May they rest in eternal peace.. Jake
“Heal The World” like in Heaven
A “Thriller” many believed he was too “Bad”
The King of Pops “Black or White”
Seven times he cried—“The Way You Make Me Feel”
Then he “Eased on Down the Road”
Singing: “Earth Songs” like “Beat It,” “Leave Me Alone”
Now “Ben,”—he is “Gone Too Soon!”

As I grow order around me I see.
The next generation of our family.
I love them all without any doubt.
But there's one that was special that
always stood out.
.
He was my cousin named Mitchell
O'Dell.
And all of our lives changed the day
that he fell.
Life is short or so they say.
But never so short as the day he
went away.
A loving and gentle, wonderful son.
Just beginning lifes journey at age
twwnty-one.
Handsome and smart with his own
sense of style.
How we wish he was still with us if
even just for awhile.
A young man's whose presence
would light up the room.
A young man whose life was taken
too soon.
Some will say "it's. What God has
planned."
They can say what they want, I still
don't understand.
It makes no sense and I ask myself
why?
What good comes if any when young
people die?
Maybe to love more in some kind of
way.
To treasure our lives and be thankful
each day.
When I look up at stars when they
come out at night
I pretend that one of them is him,
shinning ever so bright.
But still as I look up, just past the
moon.
It still breaks my heart that he was taken
too soon.

So much potential, courage and love
Alan Williams, Jr. was truly a gift sent from above
So young yet so wise; he fought to be true
Never giving up when times became blue
He dared to be himself, when everyone rejected him
His cup was never empty; it was always to the brim
That’s how he saw the world, dreams and second chances
No lost causes, just new songs and funny dances
He hadn’t seen his family in quite some time
They didn’t see the angel he was, they never let him shine
But that didn’t make him bitter or mean or lost
He deserved love and he was willing to pay the cost
He loved unconditionally, believing everyone was good
Even when it hurt him, he did all that he could
To accept his own flaws and put aside the pain
So that he could help another move past the strain
He never asked for anything back; he gave from the heart
And even though he’s gone, he’ll always be a part
Of each and every one of us, the people he held close
His brand new family, the one that he chose
His passing is a tragedy; no one knows why he’s gone
He will never be forgotten; the sun sets then again comes the dawn

I still love you
I still miss you
I still wish to share with you
I still pray for you
"But she didn't even say goodbye"
"She is in a glorified body now, no more pain"
The only thing we can do, is to love and support each other

Too Soon
Do very youthful men and women fret
About the ill success of dreams they’ve dreamt?
They barely have begun to even whet
Their lust for life! I think they are exempt
a mere while yet from lessons to be learnt.
They’ll bill and coo before spring season’s spent.
Then soon, and summer-touched, they will be burnt.
And finally, they’ll look back and lament
how weariness, like fog, has come to fall
upon them from a drizzly sky once gold
with April’s hope and not November’s pall.
Beneath Spring’s gilded skies, their growing old
is but a road stretched far in front of them.
Too soon will come cold winter’s requiem.
(Below is the poem that inspired it)
“Age” by Sara Teasdale
Brooks sing in the spring
And in the summer cease;
I who sang in my youth
Now hold my peace;
Youth is a noisy stream
Chattering over the ground.
But the sad wisdom of age
Wells up without a sound.
What a horrible ruin
Vows falsely spoken
Love's most terrible tune
Heart and vows broken
Vows broken too soon
Joy has escaped, stolen
A night's dark-dull moon
Love's most bitter token
Sad day, sad afternoon
Tears and blood betoken
Love, a scary baboon.

COMING TOO SOON
by H.B.Ussach
Popping up like pre-fab stucco-concrete-aluminum posies,
Poking up on parking lots as donut shops and quick lubes,
They are plain, utilitarian, proletarian low-low-price bunkers
On a retail war-weary land.
