My City

Of the Gods own country
of this paradise
where green and blue
merge as one
in the north is a city
that encompass the beauty
where the dream lands meet
lined by kaasaraka trees

where seven tongues are spoken
and a unique lingo was woken
lined by shores and calm beaches
which meets with forts of ancient elegance
who can pass by with no notice
the mountains high and hillocks of beauty
forests green and tranquil rivers
places of worship, unique structures
renowned for coir and handloom
and for its customs varied

The people here, with a smile of warmth
welcoming with open arms
known for their variety dishes
which does prick ones tastebuds
of the sense of fashion
who can beat their passion
and their thirst for knowledge
is to be acknowledged
fame it has know from times of yore
of the arts and culture it beholds

this is the city of budding talents
feel the vibe and do relent

Premium Member Delectable Pleasure

on a quiet
Sunday
afternoon
rain
playfully
danced
amidst the
flourishing
trees of
Georgia.

memories
tempt
tastebuds
with a
sweet juicy
nectar
ripe with
luscious
desire.

sensually
fragrant
arousing
all senses
slowly,
delicately,
sensually.

peaches
simply are..

the Fruit
of the
Gods..

one of
life's
delectable
pleasures,
for the God
& Goddess
in all.

A Lovely Little Daydream

A summer smile stuck on my face,
as I watched a soda truck racing
across the yellow maize farm.
"What is a soda truck doing
in the countryside, far away from
shops and clubs?" my workmate asked.
He looked as though he had witnessed
the Roswell event personally.
"Something isn't right," he added.
I smiled and gazed at the truck,
as it became bigger and bigger.
Monotonous tastelessness of rain water,
would soon be replaced by a fizzy, sweet
sensation to my tastebuds.
This would be the dozenth time I tasted
soda without actually drinking it.

Autumn Awakes

Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,
A coolness settles, shorter days advanced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Southward birds fly, so parts summer birdsong,
Mid leaves lay spiked beech, acorn--care enhanced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,

Sweetness in brambles flourished berries throng,
Black, elder, wild rasp--touched tastebuds danced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Favored spots, here and there, all lists are long,
'Tis time hearts invent for landscape has entranced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,

Deep verdant Ivy becomes, draped headlong,
Few flowers blooms hugged flown insects instanced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Harvested tabled, prayers blessed belong,
Autumn picturesque, surroundings felt...glanced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong.

Carnival

The carnival is coming to town
Double ferris wheel is my favorite
Corndogs and caramel apples on a stick
Give my tastebuds a treat!

Thoughtful Junk

I am the jolly lollypop
I tickle your tongue and make you hop
My sour and sweet and tangy flavour
Will make you forget all the day's labour.

I am the wafery ice cream cone
With a red juicy cherry on my crown
You should eat me so quickly
If not I will melt softly.

I am the creamy butter Pastry
You find me in every pantry
I am the guest of all the happy hours
I spread smiles when gifted with flowers.

I am the cheesy hot pizza
My spices turn you into a dancing diva
Red peppers on a crunchy crust will blow your tastebuds
My different flavours become your all-time favorites.

We all make you happy just for a while
And we do a least good for your lifestyle
Eat us once or twice a month
Vote for mommy's food for a good health

Premium Member From the Kitchen Window

The burst soapsuds dissipate.
Six doves outside my window
Enjoy their meal, congregate.
Wings whirr, head to the gingko

Baby phoebes see surroundings.
With wide mouths expose tastebuds
Hunger each day compounding!
I look, then see burst soapsuds

So much happening outside my kitchen window view that I forget the dishwater is getting cold and chores going undone.

Sweet Treats

Morning time...waking with sweets in my mouth
cinnamon carameltmarshmellowed out
breakfast cereal Sugar Dynamite
secret prize inside,bestows x-ray sight

Sugar shock,tooth rot,'60s psycotropic lollipops
an infinite selection @ Treat's Sweetshop
its addictive candy flavors
improves moods and bad behavior
beware of its dangers
sugar rush overdose and hypereality at most

Peanutbrittle,jawbreakers,misfortune cookie riddles
limesours with saccarine middles
crispycreams filled my mouth
multi-colored jelly beans, sweet and sour insideout

Chocolate candy bars filled the candy jars
cinnamon coal pepper scorchers
mouth and stomach torture
jellied fruit medley,candied vomit,flavor bliss
oatmeal crisps and spicey comets
cool peppermints sooth
my tongue stuck to sticky tarts stronger than glue

Sugared hyper,spoiled rotten
the last flavor blast, gone not forgotten

Narcotic treats penny gag sweets
firecracker gum
blistering flaming lip smackers
and moldy sugarplums

Blue cotton candy,caramel dandies,gingersnaps
assorted sugared snacks,
bubblegum taffy stale rotten candy
are tough chewing tasks
the good stuff in my secret stash:
vanilla cream mashed between two oatmeal cookies
even tried vegan fruikies
my heart's desire...
spent several days sugar wired...still ain't tired

When tastebuds crave an everlasting taste
even toothpaste's nothing to waste
suck, never chew hot swallows in haste
found tastebud relief
gulped this 32oz. blizzard
topped with chopped strawberry twizzlers

Nighttimes mean euphoric wake dreams
cool whipped creamed baked desserts
milkshakes quenched my sugar thirst
Next an ice cream brainfreeze sprinkled with the works,
Ate three slices of icecream cake unthawed,
and an entire carton of chocolate marshmellow smorgasborgs
smothered in toffee fudge crunch and caramel popcorn munch

Baked treats make each morning time sublime
Sugared creamed pastries cake sweet
Saccarine cereal tastes surreal
Chocolate sprinkled ,vanilla milkshakes
completes morning meal
Then the entire day of sugar shock toothrot
indulgence at Treat 's Sweet Shop

Witch's Stew

Witches have wacky tastebuds, as this poem will tell!

Cup of eel eyes
Cup of toad tongue
Cup of snakeskin, too.
Boil twenty minutes-
Recipe for Witch's Stew!

Bonus activity: Have children write their own recipe for "Witch's Stew" (rhyming recipe not necessary!). Tell them a good "Witch's Stew" should include 3-5 ghoulish ingredients. You may also have children draw (or draw and label) their ingredients and/or draw a picture of a bowl or a pot of the stew, with all of the ghoulish ingredients they chose swimming around the top.

PIZZA- LISTING MAKES - A ROBUST TREAT

Thin, thick or double crust...Tell me what you lust.
Variant flavors, eye-wheel hush. Tickling your tastebuds to blush..Ham, vegy,
pepperoni, it has.. Cheesy or saucy, it is just. Each piece, one great blast
Oven-fresh a delicious trust! Mouth and nose will combust! Allured to
pizza's smokey gust. Merrily! I'll eat two or three. Especially when
given for free. Though sometimes, I crave whole. For each
savory part a full! One or two takes, isn't a big ache.
Healthy body will not be at stake. For you can
choose each flake. Combine it with fresh
juicy shake. If you got much, do
                                  some quakes. So fats and
                                      big bellies will break.
                                         All these makes
                                             pizza one
                                               robust
                                                treat

Hot and smooth, sweet dark delight
                                                 Starless chocolate night
                                                Set my tastebuds all afire,
                                                   Feed their lone desire:
                                                   Dullness laid to waste,

Food Lovers

You go into the kitchen and begin to prepare a meal.
I tiptoe up behind you and tickle your waist.
You jump and squeal with laughter.
You put the ingredients on the work surface.
And pickup your sharp knife and wave it in my face.
Now Keith stop being silly while I prepare your food.
No more touchy feely. I am not in a childish mood.
I put up my hands and put them around your waist.
Giving you a passionate kiss.
You turn and use the cutting board.
I open the chilled white wine.
You take the glass and have a drink.
Then leave it on the side of the sink.
You cut the salad and shake the bowl.
Putting in salad dressing I think it was Vinaigrette.
It was nice the salad was all wet.
You peeled some fruit and took an orange segment.
Turning to me you put it to my mouth.
I bit into it halfway then put my lips to yours.
So we both got the taste.
It ran into our tastebuds.
You laughed and turned away.
I pulled your hair to one side.
And kissed your neck.
The taste of the orange was on your skin.
You laughed and said it tickles so much.
I said I love when you laugh! I can never get enough.
We move to the table to eat the meal.
You begin to rub my leg with your foot.
I say darling what is it you want?
You push closer and whisper.
My lover Can you pass the salt.
I get up and walk over to your side.
You pull back and look in my eyes.
I take your hand and you get up.
Then you sit in my lap facing me.
Your hair covers my face as you lock lips with me.
We can eat our meal later it wont go cold.
Making love to you is always more fun.

When the Bubble Bursts

Buoyed over waves of elation
Marvel at favourable sights of creation

Prospect for attainment visible
Within glossy bastion, even trials seems agreeable

Mollusk of endearing devotion, grumbling for denied favours seem so easy
How progenitors of our existence purse their frustrations makes one feel lousy

Reeking of corrupted souls, makes tastebuds sour to elixir
Grafted as second skin blends to exude a new color

Aversion so easily discerned when everything awash
How chameleon spirit avulsed everything from one in a stroke of whiplash

Hooters perched on the demise of accrued inheritance
Consternation that needs to be shackled for their malefactor dance

When plunder acknowledged for their vantage
Stipends bequeathed as morsels to owner of the heritage

When the bubble finally bursts
Lesson that even if one's dominion life is not always just

Monitoring in anticipation stranger's and dear ones alike by holter
Affirms the old adage that blood is thicker than water

Candy Cane Sticks

CANDY CANE STICKS

bent little crooks
red and white
stripes
help us swallow
Christmascrass
hype

succor sugar comforts
stuffed stocking taboo

peppermint sticks
disabling treats
bow to licking
lips

spry little hooks that
stoop to bingecringe
stick sickly sweet
decaying teeth

succor sugar comforts
stuffed stocking taboo

tastebuds tingle
sleighbells jingle
cell-o-feigns
freed
Candy Cane
Christmascrass
creed
