The burst soapsuds dissipate. Six doves outside my window Enjoy their meal, congregate. Wings whirr, head to the gingko Baby phoebes see surroundings. With wide mouths expose tastebuds Hunger each day compounding! I look, then see burst soapsuds
So much happening outside my kitchen window view that I forget the dishwater is getting cold and chores going undone. June 20, 2023

A very nice scene you set, Sara. I felt like I was right there standing by the sink next to you... I have a few bird feeders outside my kitchen window, too, and it is so easy to get distracted by such colorful visitors...

Sometimes we get lost in the scenes outside. If we are in the kitchen, what is being cooked may even go burnt. It has happened to me many a time. My kitchen window opens to the backyard where birds hop and rest on the mango tree. A lovely poem Sara

Valsa, Sorry that you have burned your food but good that you can enjoy the outdoors with all of nature. A mango tree in the yard is nice I am sure. We have pear, apple, and fig in the backyard/garden plus some blueberries, raspberries, and blackberry bushes but they can't all be viewed from my kitchen window. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate the visit. Sara

You were so invested. So sad if something happened.

Kim, the last couple of days I have been somewhat sad because the Phoebe family I have been watching disappeared and the babies were not old enough to leave the nest. I know something went wrong with the hatchlings. Sara

Hi Sara. I like how your poem moves from you concentrating on washing the dishes to momentarily being distracted and in awe of the natural world outside your window.. and then you bring the reader back again to the washing up. Your poems express your love of nature. We cannot live without nature but nature could live without us. Cheers - Gary

Why, thank you, Gary. Within its (Ae Freislighe) limited framework, it is hard to write what I want to say but you read between the lines. Your presence at my page is always appreciated. Sara
