Premium Member All That I Have Taken In

At day's end, I take in the last light
seeping into the dark waters
across the bay and keep it here.
I gather the sound of departing gulls
smudged on the sky, the quietening
settle of birds in the cypress trees
along the foreshore, the giggle
of a child high on a swing
being pushed by a mothers hand.

I hold here the gentle sweep
of waves soaking into wet sand,
the slow roll of seaweed, bubbles
bursting around shells, wings
low over the water.
I draw in the evening and keep
it close with its lights
sprinkled around the edges
of the headland,
emerging stars hung soundless
in the heavens, the blinking
passage of a southbound airplane
heading into a long night.
From somewhere, the smell
of honeysuckle spilling
into the waiting air.

I make my way home, filled
with all that I have taken in,
having little space left over
to fit myself.

Premium Member The Day Has Taken You

*Dedicated to my friend Rick who passed away yesterday...12/11/22*

The day has taken you, but heaven opens the gate
No more suffering, nothing more to contemplate
Now, you are flying with angels in the sky
Just being in your faith with all the reasons why!

The day has taken you, but you are finally free
No more illness plaguing you, nothing worse to see
Free from the pain or even the evil across this land,
You’re singing with the angels my friend, I can hear the band!

My tears of reason do fall…
But for you, I will stand tall…
Because I know you’re in a much deserving better place
And you’ve found a way to be with me, even though I can’t see your face!

Your words are in my mind…
Your ways are in my heart to find…
Right here and right now, to replenish moments that are sullen,
Until I find you at the end of my path, left worn by teardrops fallen...

Premium Member The Right Road Taken

I hear a voice call out to me
through whispers in the wind at night.
It haunts my soul and sends a plea
for love to shine its brilliant light.

Within my dreams my spirit seeks
to find the source of this request.
To share the love of which it speaks
has now become my fervent quest.

I travel past the demons' lair
that held me captive for so long.
I quicken pace lest they snare
entrapping me within their throng.

I journey down the winding road
still following my lover's cry,
but as I see the fork I've slowed
now wondering which path to try.

If I choose wrong, the voice will fade
and my last chance for real love dies.
I listen for the serenade,
within her words she might advise.

She sings a song with a western tone
and now it's clear which route to take.
The west is where the light has shone,
the truer path, there's no mistake.

As further down the road I go
my destination lies in sight.
I hear the music's volume grow,
my heart's now dancing in delight.

Upon her beautiful face I look
as her arms envelop me.
I'm thankful for the road I took
for on that path I found the key.

It opened up sweet passion's door
where two lost spirits join as one.
Composing a true lover's score
this duet’s journey's just begun.

My daughter`s budgie "Sissie" died a late night
The next morning I told her that "Sissie" was dead
With tears on her eyes and cheeks, she asked her mom
                      - Is "Sissie" in heaven with God and grandmother ?
                       - Yes, she is with God, grandmother and the angels
                                                I answer her

Surprised at this answer, my daughter investigate
                                            whether it was true
She walks into the room where the cage with
                                         the budgie used to stand
After a short while, she runs back to mom....
                        - Mom, mom.... God has not only taken "Sissie"
                                       - God has taken the cage too

                              This is a true story - - - from gold child`s mouth

On the gurgling remains of Winter
as she seeps back into the earth
on a path around a lake
flanked by the casualties of winter's breath
cattails...
brown and bent with broken heads
backs turned to the pale yellow corn stock stubble
standing in mud clad fields
that lie beneath scattered hints of green
where a red barn and silo stand in wait

A gentle breeze... a ripple on the lake
cattail fluff floating in the air
a symphony composed by songbirds and frogs
drifts across the land and bubbling streams
that cut across the path

Moss lies abreast the thin skin of winter
still remaining in places
where the sun never shines

A blanket of burnt amber needles
and prickly cones
lie beneath a dark green canopy of pines
impaled by glinting spears of sunlight
where the path...for a momeent...is lost

Thump...thump...thump.. the beat of leather souls
on wooden planks over the marshlands...

The lake erupts in torrents of water tendrils
falling from the wings
slapping the face of the lake
as geese take to the sky...

And beyond the forest of pines...
the oaks and maples
display their new burgundy buds
and the few remaining
leaves of Autumn...
all crinkled and curled
still clinging to the past
on a well-worn path
that circles around a lake
with no beginning and no end
where the seasons come and go...
as do... I.

Premium Member Takers Taken

The night takers come when the sun goes down
When there's no one around to hear the quiet loud
They are the shadowed clouds feared by the proud
Seeping in through ears with maddening clapping sound
Insane clowns with razor sharp teeth poking around
The mind pounds until it's fully unwound
Once it's lost it can never be found

The brain twitches and seizes until it freezes
Epileptic diseases permeating the creases
Too late to call out or to cry to Jesus
Life never owned each one of us leases
Man thinks he can do whatever he pleases
Monkey like minds relating to rhesus
Trying to pick up all the evolutionary pieces
**** disguised as treasure but it's still feces

Witness lowly ones described as meek
Traveling along a narrow path to seek
Listening to prophets from the past speak
People laughing and calling them Jesus Freaks
Thinking they're feeble minded and weak
Are the wise and powerful really so unique
Who will be left to listen to their critique
For the night takers came and took them in their sleep

We live in a world of wise people who feel Science
is our salvation. Yet each attempt man makes to improve
upon creation seems to destroy another part of it.
Eventually we are the takers and the taken.

Premium Member Taken, Never Forsaken

When I try to look back, it hurts to start
A mother I was now in continual broken heart

In the innocence of that Sunday quietly shopping away
When my thoughts to humanity go in angered astray

One minute he held my hand, the next he was gone
In suspended silence I float amidst stared public throng

Questions through confusion as to where I stood last
Still feeling his hand, that loving maternal grasp

Lights became brighter, louder were the voices
Still confusion abounds in sporadic lost choices

Who could have taken him, where has he gone
So many voices not singing the same song

Continually I dream about these words you've just read
To the end of my days I can't think of him dead

Taken

I let you break the door to my soul,
You savoured the flavour there in
Only you did,
But the broken door gave me pain
I let you, cos of the sweetened words
Issuing forth from your honeyed lips
I let you, cos those words tells of your love for me
And it enchants me,
It sapped me, and pets my stubborn soul

You kissed me passionately
With the girdle of your muscular arm all about me
You cooed words laced with rhythm like strains of Celine into my tender ear
I quiver like a leaf by a flowing river
As I opened the passage to my soul

You entered me, you took me
My painful moan tickles your shaft
You unleashed your manfulness over me
And I felt with all the nerve in my body,
Your shaft stirring the abyss of my hole

You quiver, like you were epileptic
This time, I heard your groan-moan
And a milky fluid from your shaft rained on my navel
Weariness engulfed my whole
I barely could raise a bone

I saw you walking to door,
Hoping a meal would follow your return
I made out of the bed to bath
And await your coming
Alas! My wait was a waste

Another day has passed me by

Taken gently, by the falling sun, and the starry sky
Leaving stiletto barbs that heaven will hone tonight

Today disappeared
As a slim gray ghost that has been taken away

I never thought to say goodbye...

It seemed but one of many days
That come and go

But then a flickering shadow of bare boughs
A certain wind that blew
Curling brown leaves around my feet
As if to remind me
This was a phantom day

A slim, gray, ghost,
That never will pass my way again

My thoughts had other needs today
And reckless .... was I....

I never thought to say goodbye...

We read the stories every day,
A child snatched by a stranger.
He’s taken from his loving home
Where there should be no danger.

The devastated parents beg
For him to be returned.
Heartless abductors do not care.
Their frantic pleas are spurned.

He has been loved and nourished
For the whole of his short days.
Far from loving arms that held him
With his innocence he pays.

A lucky few are found alive
But are forever changed.
His future has been colored
By the demonic or deranged.

If or when these deviates are caught,
They should not be freed again,
They should live their lifetime in a cage
And feel their victim’s pain.

Taken, Possessed

"Taken, Possessed"

I’d kiss those scars
Trace them with my warm breath
All the way up both paths
To where King Stamen stands erect and
Star tipped towards my shining jade moons dark lit
Kiss him where a glistening pearl drop
Waits wet and haunted
Ready to be mesmerised
Sibilant and silent he whispers
Lay it upon me
And so too,
I grant that wish,
he's wilfully taken
Scars in his mind
dissolving kissed in kind
his crown now all mine

He now reigns me in,
My Blue Sky

Premium Member The Roads Not Taken

Regrets on the roads not taken.
Wondering what would have happened,
What could have happened,
If I just gave love one more chance.
Would my heart be whole or,
Still as empty and broken,
As it is now.
The one and only to ever feel,
Died in my arms and that,
Is also where my heart died.
I see you when you come,
For me at night.
Standing there just looking,
Making sure I'm alright.
I feel you as my heart breaks.
I yearn for you every day every night.
I watch the same movies over and,
Over again only because they're yours.
Are you still waiting for me?
I know your always there,
Especially when the lights flicker.
It's always at night,
When I miss you the most.
I put your shirt on your pillow,
So when I drift off your,
Always near me.
I woke up one morning and,
Your shirt was gone.
I looked in the corner and,
It was folded in the chair.
That's when I knew you were here.

Premium Member If I Am Taken Hostage

If I am ever taken hostage
I hope it’s by my grandchildren
They will take me to a park,
And make me swing and slide,
I will crazy laugh
And chase them down
Play and play

Day

Point Taken

A new teacher whose discipline lacked,
From his pupils was daily attacked.
So he taped to each chair
A sharp tack in despair
And they soon got the point - that's a fact!
