Beltane Night (Pantoum)

We'll raise the flames of Beltane night,
in song and dance we'll celebrate,
espoused by fires in Pagan rite,
our god and goddess incarnate.

In song and dance we'll celebrate
among the flames of love's desire
our god and goddess incarnate,
my promise made beside the fire.

Among the flames of love's desire
a heart and soul have been declared
my promise made beside the fire,
and now my life with you is shared.

A heart and soul have been declared
to you my love, my Queen of May
and now my life with you is shared
as we unite upon this day.

To you my love, my Queen of May
espoused by fires in Pagan rite
as we unite upon this day,
we'll raise the flames of Beltane night.

Gold Digger

Gold Digger

now I'm not saying she's a gold digger
but her hands are in my pants pants pants
and I'm thinking as far as I can figure
she's not asking me to dance dance dance

cause the only tune I can hear playing
is the one that's in my head head head
and she's not skinny but she keeps saying
honey I need some bread bread bread

only last week she was begging me
she's needing cash for her sister sister sister
in my pocket once again you see
surprised her hand isn't one blister blister blister

I tell her go away you fool
you're not coning me this time time time
then she cries saying I'm not cool
the way you treat me is a crime crime crime

that's a lie and you know it honey
I give you everything you need need need
but all you seem to want is my money
I'm not a turnip and I bleed bleed bleed

so I'm not saying she's a gold digger
but her hands are always in my pants pants pants
and I'm thinking as far as I can figure
she's still not asking me to dance dance dance

To all of you who read the first song, I thank you-and to those of you who went to CJBELL.NET I thank you exponentially
  TAKE A SPIN IN CRINOLINE

Do you tango?
Do you dance a lot,
my Sir Lancelot?
Do you cha-cha?
And like me you sure are hot

Do you mambo?
Do you Lindy Hop?
Do you slow dance?
And does dancing make your champagne pop?

Do you rumba?
Do you shake your butt about?
Do you do the twist?
Now does it make you scream and shout?

This girl must dance as she must breathe
A two step done from two steps away
A breath apart and ready to dance
Wanting to wiggle and set to sway

Does the band believe in you,
The way that it does me?
Is the music your only muse,
And does the music make you free?

So again I ask you……
Do you tango?
Do you dance a lot,
my Sir Lancelot?
Do you cha-cha?
And like me are you hot?
And just like me, baby, are you hot?
    CHANGE MELODY
So do you want to quick step, Mister?
With me in silk and crinoline
Don’t peek under my dress demure
As you watch me begin to spin

We can rumba and drink some rum
We can ch-ch-chance a cha-cha or two
Put your hands forcefully around my waist
Because Mister, I’m ready to dance with you

You can lead and lead me anywhere
Places you may have seen before
Like to the bar and back again
But I won’t leave this here dance floor
No I won’t leave this here dance floor

Do you tango with your cheek near mine
And lips so close we share one taste
What is that Mister dancing man,
you don’t dance, oh what a woeful waste?
Yes what a woeful waste

So you don’t tango the way that I do
And your slow dance has slowed to a halt
Well Mister, the fact that you can’t dance
alas honey, that ain’t this young chick’s fault

No baby, that ain’t none of this young girl’s fault
No, that ain’t no fault of mine
But let’s not call this love to a halt
Because I said, Mister Mister,
that just ain’t,
that just ain’t this hot chick's faultttttttttttt!

Goodnight Kiss

I’m standing out at midnight
Waiting for you under the stars
Pacing back and forth
Waiting for your beautiful eyes

I’m praying that we’ll dance in the moonlight
But I’ll be crying if you leave me alone tonight
Cause it’s a night like this
That I really need your kiss
And I know I never wanna miss a night with you

I see the wonder of your heart
And all your beauty inside
Being with you makes me feel like I can fly
And I know you’re the only reason why

I cant help but wonder what you see in me
Without you what would I be
I love you more than you know
You can always make me high when I’m low

I’m praying that we’ll dance in the moonlight
But I’ll be crying if you leave me alone tonight
Cause it’s a night like this
That I really need your kiss
And I know I never wanna miss a night with you

Paying the Fiddler

I was nineteen that summer
  when I met him at a buck-out,
  and I was totally smitten
by all the Cowboy charm he had.

I thought that he was rugged,
  (and undeniably handsome),
then that bull slammed against the fence
and busted him up pretty bad.

I was surprised when he showed up at the dance,
he was battered and bruised but smiling,
and I heard him talking and laughing,
still high from the rush of the ride.

He said “You gotta’ pay the fiddler
if you want to dance to his tune”,
then he drifted across the floor,
said “Let’s dance” as he reached my side.

Mama told me I’d be sorry
if I ignored her and took up with him,
and I really hate to say it,
but I guess that she was right.

But when I review my memories
I know I’d do it all again,
  for that “Eight Second Feeling”
of our first long kiss that night.

We used to dance for hours,
in the kitchen and on the porch
and laugh about owein’ that fiddler
and what his pay would be.

But lately there ain’t been no dancin’,
just long strings of awkward silence,
as his eyes look far and distant
and not so much at me.

Seems his spirit has grown uneasy,
as I listen to him talking
  and realize it’s still Rodeo
  that truly holds his heart.

Oh, I don’t mind coming in second,
heck, life is like that sometimes.
  But knowing I’m invisible,
  well, that’s the hardest part.

I suppose I should be angry,
but I just can’t find it in me,
‘cause I know what it’s like
to love something just that way.

I felt it when I first saw him,
in the arena and on the dance floor
and I still feel it sometimes
when I watch him walk away.

I’ve helped him struggle to pay the fiddler,
and it breaks my heart to see him weary,
so I stand in silent acceptance,
as I watch him pack his things.

I understand his leaving,
I know he won’t be coming back here,
  our life together, a lesson,
one that time always seems to bring.

I walk out past the horse pens,
pull the gate shut…and I lock it,
hear my mare start to nicker
  as the trailer pulls away.

I’d like to say I’ll miss him,
his past still holds my heart.
But we danced to the fiddler’s tune
and the final payment came due today.

My Music

Need we wake up naked the sacred hour of dawn,

to dance to the songs of our fore fathers

In the sacred garden of old .

Need we from the setting rise ,and kiss in the moment the deepest desire of men

An existence beyond and void of time .

A small taste of eternity till the awakening of the phoenix, the golden dawn .

Need we wake up the sacred golden moment in dawn, stunned to silence

As he with practiced easy, gleaming with talent pull string for string ,David the bard with no equal

pulling his strings on the harp merging and pleasing to creation ,a secret set of chords he had

and with the chords his harp reflecting the goodness in his soul ,shunning the ghouls that haunted his king

singing:

Should we wake up naked the sacred hour of dawn to dance to the songs of our forefathers in the sacred garden of eden .

should we wake up at the rise, and from the setting to the dawn dwell in a land eons & eons long enstranged,

to be glad, rejoice and dance to the beats and chants of the drums as the psalm of the ancients is renewed ,

to move with the beat of the universe in its harmonious daze .

to remember the dances of old, performed around a bonfire in a thousand forgotten barbaric gestures .

Our tongue's as of fire we chant the song of languages .

bleeding it out of our deepest

holding none but letting go.

Rock and Roll

Sing loud like an asian cuckoo
Join crows in crew
Let's all mingle
By our jingles

Dance gracefully like the peacocks
Dump mental blocks
Get set your soul
Let's rock and roll

Glide alike the feathers in wild
Treat problems mild
For it's just fair
To smile with tear

Daddy Is Running Late

It’s another morning,
Daddy is running late.
Trying to get to his job,
trying to get out of the gate.

On the radio,
A song was playing through.
His 5 year daughter danced,
to Koby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.

As she danced,
Daddy searched for his car keys.,
He came upon a cute little smile,
an innocent face that said ”Daddy dance with me”

He looked at his sweet daughter,
the center of his world.
He picked her up,
and danced with his baby girl.

3 minutes later the song was done,
There was a hug and a kiss.
A big beautiful smile,
and a memory that was not missed.

Another morning,
Daddy is running late.
Don’t be in such a hurry,
to get out of the gate.

For life is too short,
Never take time away from a child ever.
Because to a 5 year little girl.
A 3 minute dance with daddy will last forever.

Premium Member Fiddler and Frog

the Fiddler played and sang a tune
all the while the sun became moon
	Sir Frog was dancing
	and sometimes prancing
but then the music died too soon

“Fiddler,” cried Frog, “why do you stop?
I’m still in mindful mood to hop!”
	Fiddler said, “Sir Frog,
	bring me honey grog
and I’ll play the night till you drop!”

Choose To Dance

A song leaps from my heart at the beginning of each new day,
A song with a melody that never plays a sad song,
Never carries a tune that is wrong, this is just my way…
If I have the choice of sitting this one out, I will choose to dance!
If there is breath of life there is always hope of life,
Love and great things to experience and know!
It is so important if there is love of the heart, to let it show!

Some live a life that never knows real sorrow,
Some face sorrow more than it seems they should.
Some we say, have more than their share,
But still face it as much as they could.
If you have a choice dance, dance, dance!

Even in the face of sorrow, I don't want to sit this one out,
Even in the face of tears, I don't want to sit this one out,
I want to choose to dance!
I hope with all my heart, that no matter come what may,
That you will always choose to dance! Dance of the heart, dance of the soul,
Dance with all your might, dance with courage, never letting go.

Premium Member Go Dancing

When His wind excites the leaves
Light and shadow go dancing
When His wind on water weaves
Light flicks around - tapdancing

His wind dried up the Red Sea
To silence Pharaoh's hot air
Israel crossed over free
Their song - instead of despair

He breathed life into a child
Who danced before Him as king
The Davidic king compiled
Worship songs - for us to sing

His wind-driven chaff is wild
He scatters His enemies
His rebuke returns it - mild
His wind provides remedies

Breathe on me, Holy Spirit
For I must be born again
The singing - I can hear it
I am dancing from within

Danse Macabre

The sun fades away behind the horizon
And all is still, the in-between time.
All is quiet, as though lying in wait….
And then there is a stiff, sudden movement.
Slender, twig like fingers grasp the earth
And strain as the rest follows upward, through soil.
Dark, empty sockets gaze around, soaking in moonlight.
And then, under the shining full moon, a dance begins.
A single violin plays, lively notes awakening others
And soon the entire field is full of figures,
All dancing in their own ways, and a clacking
Sound is heard whenever they touch each other.
The violinist continues, grinning all the while
As everyone dances, leaping and twirling in the air.
No one disturbs the dancers, for if they did,
They would be enticed into dancing as well, forever.
There would be no return, as other dancers could tell.
And so, on and on goes the dance, and all the while
The pale, ghostly moon resides over them all.
The song has woven among every dancer,
With strands of Sorrow and Joy, and even Love.
New friends are made, yet words are a thing forgotten.
But then, suddenly, there comes a cry of warning.
The Song slows, and figures slowly stop and
Begin to shuffle back towards their lowly homes.
For there is the bright Sun, peeking its head
Up and over the mountains, finger like rays of light
Reaching and greedily turning all back into soil.
Because now it is daytime, and during the day
The Danse Macabre cannot be, not until night
At full moon, on the night when skeletons
Walk and dance as they did in life.

A flower blooms beauty in the prime of spring
Dances as a dainty ballerina in the amorous air
Enters many enthralled hearts that solely sing
For her to dance to their tune with luring flair.

To her sensuous surrealist world she takes them
Their minds floating mesmerized in ecstatic air
Adulation plucks the flower from the drying stem
Youth wilts with passing years, she does not care.

Time plays with her lonely life the unkind game
She falls from the heights of admiration and grace
Gnawing apathy, an infliction she could not tame
Arc light fades as obscurity pervades to embrace.

Flower of her gleaming youth flashes on her face
She dances to the flitting rhythm of her swan song
Blaze of the last dance makes the stage a fireplace
She burns the affliction that agonized her for so long.
