Daddy Is Running Late

It’s another morning,
Daddy is running late.
Trying to get to his job,
trying to get out of the gate.

On the radio,
A song was playing through.
His 5 year daughter danced,
to Koby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.

As she danced,
Daddy searched for his car keys.,
He came upon a cute little smile,
an innocent face that said ”Daddy dance with me”

He looked at his sweet daughter,
the center of his world.
He picked her up,
and danced with his baby girl.

3 minutes later the song was done,
There was a hug and a kiss.
A big beautiful smile,
and a memory that was not missed.

Another morning,
Daddy is running late.
Don’t be in such a hurry,
to get out of the gate.

For life is too short,
Never take time away from a child ever.
Because to a 5 year little girl.
A 3 minute dance with daddy will last forever.

Such a great poem about father-love. Those short times with children add to life-long memories.
