Best Smiling(A) Poems
Your words has made love to me under a spell
I feel just so alive inside your love sweetheart
flying echoes within beautiful songbirds singing in the valley
Magic whispers you're a dream stirring silver waves silently
enchanting warmly upon a November breeze
Oh baby over and over honey in the mind golden turns
crystal drops splashes of happiness
Sweetest child of eternal beauty shining brightly
on one treasure sparkling jeweled gem everlasting memory complete
Looking across the mountains searching destiny I call your name
haunting wolf howls alighting our souls unite as one body
Our hearts marry together sparking ignites purity
Then looking out towards the ocean hills crumbling
they begin unfolding out this vision towards the sea
I fall crashing into your space thousands of miles away
in this nutshell smiling a Renoir dream classic
your an attractive intelligent lady kiss me quick
Who is now holding high position of royalty inside four chambers
A picture hangs sweet kissing a diamond among'st maidens
desiring hot one rose blushing red each petal crowning
emotions of passion pure in white forever burning flames
blue inside touching you softly in a feathered touch
In gentle soft warm flickers each a beat
gently in the wildest dreams softly sings our song
Take my heart and join it with your's darling
walk with me upon golden sands
dancing with joy finding such a queen
I sweetly surrender to you this soul
my pact true our lovers path
forever and always holding hands
our destiny divine and beautiful sings
this is something I spent quite some time alone writing just finished it today

Hey diddle diddle
We poets will fiddle
With poems that jump over the moon.
But sometimes we blunder
He still claps like thunder
And soon we are smiling a tune.
While he sits on his tuffet
and gobbles his sandwich
He brings a smile with each comment he makes
Collecting his wits,
With humorous bits
Jay Leno would gladly be paid!
To have him crack jokes
He cheers all the folks
Who stay up by light of the moon
Even little dogs laugh,
While the rest of us grin
You're a great guy, we love you! ... Ruben!!

The pendulum swings
(Left to right)
Zenith approaches
The vortex opens up…
With head spinning
My spin is heading
Towards your light
On the coattails of a watch and chain…
Tumbling down the word hole
Collecting words,
From the wall of air
That surrounds me,
To consume later…
Too much later
As quixotic adventures
Tilt me away from my pen
And images of you burn ever deeper
Onto the backs of my eyelids
Am I losing you?
Am I losing me?
Do I exist?
Did I ever?
It seems I am always risking
My life
My love…
The roulette wheel
Catches my fall…
Still spinning
I follow the white star
Onto the red
Where the tinker rings her bell
Smiling a Cheshire smile
Holding a blue-eyed pill in one hand
And a red-headed pill in the other…
Unblinking
The blue’s stare
Pierces my heart…
The burning flames of the red
Kiss the bleeding desire of my lips
Dissolving on my tongue
I am afraid to open my eyes
But, risking a glance downwards
The insane grin on my mad hat
Slips to cover Dorothy’s red shoes
That Alice stole from Robin
In Sherwood’s green forest
Now I am calm
As I enter your wonderland…
Melding with your mind
Dancing with your spirit
Swaying with your rhythm
Embracing all that you are
I am holding you so tight…
As the tears roll down my cheeks
The pull of never land
Tearing me from your bed of white roses
Back to the thorns on my bed of nails…
As...
(Right to left)
The pendulum swings

The joy of birth, the growing up,
leads us to adore our lovely babies.
But not, alas, without the toils of life.
Because we experience a lack of sleep,
contend with baby vomit,
or idiotically putting on his boxer shorts
completely the wrong way around.
Yet all is part of being loving
to a newborn child. Sometimes
I get the weird, unworldly feeling
that I'm the worst grandpa of all.
Perhaps it's just that I'm getting old.
Try lifting the chubby scamp a little while
and oh my poor back simply aches.
And if he cries I must find out
what ails the urchin, my dearest pet.
A dirty nappy? Someone take care,
mother or granny, it's their job I'm afraid.
But if it's a bottle of milk he wants,
or nibbling a few small pieces of cereal,
then I am game. Bring on the glorious food.
And when he sleeps, I'm just in heaven,
contemplating the profound miracle of life.
For though he's not directly mine,
he's the continuation of my genetic line.
And so I worry if he coughs or wheezes,
or falls whilst crawling, adding to his bruises.
Awake he's smiling, a gurgling bundle of joy
that makes me proud, he's Nicholas my boy.
NB Nicholas, my grandson, is now 18 years old, studying dentistry at University (first in class) and has a driver's licence too.

What is time?
another spin around the dial
Tick tock goes the clock
Second to minute:A voice screaming
''Hey Doc''
Time to wake
Time to make a new
Feat to floor,seldom make it,except a few
These random mornings my watch I do not wear
I wake,smile and laugh''without the utmost care''
Slip up my double knot and dare the world...
On cloud twelve, now feat can't touch the ground
Nor would I let
Smiling a smirk sweetly smiling
Not one regret...
To harness this morning would be Heaven in a bottle that I must leave behind
If it is''as of now'' it has to be aged -potential to be a unique and special wine...
I raise my glass to the next tasting.....

Light Verse
Although some are blessed with healing powers,
I can only offer comfort to you.
At your side I’ll be in your darkest hours
when your greatest hopes and dreams go askew.
Of monetary wealth I have little,
just concern, uplifting words to impart.
Feelings of trust are my best transmittal
when you feel crushed and your world falls apart.
For some it seems that friendship is fleeting,
but a commitment is what I can make.
As long as my true heart is beating,
take my unwavering hand when you shake.
If I can make you feel self assurance
when others have abandoned you in plight,
then count on me smiling -- a hope-filled glance --
a nonjudgmental friend who’ll not indict.

Warning - Don't read The Raven and Watch Hitchcock on the same night.
Once before my bedtime, nearing, which I dreaded, fazed and fearing,
Stories mother would read me before she closed and locked my bedroom door —
While I washed up in the water, could mom have drawn it any hotter?
Before me swam a rubber duckling, chuckling as my mother shut the door
“‘Tis some water fowl”, I muttered, “which mother bought me from the store.
Only this and nothing more.”
Ah, distinctly I can place it - the sad night Mother would misplace it;
Or entirely erase it; of her mind remaining nothing more.
I lay in bed, mother tucking, on feathers of mother’s plucking
Time for your book, said mother clucking, clucking as she locked the bedroom door —
I’ll read “Make Way for Ducklings” and then warm milk she began to pour -
all across the bedroom floor.
Assuredly, I felt no sorrow, as mother left me till the morrow
Sighing - buying time – which maybe I could only hope to borrow;
I heard my monstrous mother screaming, or maybe Tippi Hedren streaming
as Hitchcock’s “Birds” was beaming from the TV laying on the floor—
“’Tis just Hitchcock’s “Birds” beaming from the TV laying on the floor” -
This it is and nothing more.”
Inside that book peered at me smiling, a crazed duck that set me dialing
911 and protective services to frantically implore
The feeling in my stomach sinking, “I need a friend”, I was thinking
Staring wildly at this ghastly mallard who chilled me to the core
Then, at once, I saw it, heard it, this grinning duck needn’t chill me to the core
as he said, “I will be your friend forevermore”.

Opening up
with a moon smiling tonight
sparkling stars mingling with white clouds
Searching for the soul's dream
stands a wonder before thee very eyes
flaming hot vision
The one whom sparks electric
who will forever and always burn
softly inside out
a candle sweet aroma scenting blossoms
whispering fragrance off beauty
Silver echoes deeply
within precious silent
soft humming whispers
sweet singing to a rose
blowing warm petal fingers soft inside waves
who will always sweep
sweetly across the ocean
Touching deepest sands
warmly we hold hands
Living in the land of eternal youth
always pure free as the driven snow
Dewdrops shines
in your sunlight rising
Sparkling beautiful forever
smiling a little something
wrapped up inside just for you
pulling on the strings warmly

The first hint
I stood at the gate
and was shocked to find
the clasp unfastened
It swung freely on its hinges
as if it had not a care
to whom might enter or leave
I looked out towards the horizon
across the wintered over field,
a stark white landscape
I saw nothing but barren trees with
twisted branches creaking,
silhouettes reaching on an opaque sky
I felt scared and nervous…
what would happen now that the entryway
to my heart had been left open
Then I felt a hand on my shoulder,
and looking to my right, there you were,
smiling a sunrise on my face
So I pulled the gate closed,
secured it tightly as I found the first
hint of spring in your kiss

We danced like this
A fit of madness, twirling around
round as the beat drowned
drowned out sounds of outside melodies
unwanted tunes, I danced with you
black dress of luxurious lace swept low
Encasing legs perfectly porcelain
Fanciful footwork-I led you-you led me
In this symbiotic synchronicity
The light cast down illuminate
a striking angle of your face
smiling, a twirl, hands in mine
around the floor, intertwined
hands in mine
A room looked on...no notice, no matter
Removed from their critique
judgement, opinion.......all words of others
They mingled into sounds of nothing
noise lost in our self-made song
Eyes locked to speak all unsaid
I kissed your pouted lips instead
our steps never un synched.......
We waltzed on as the night made dawn
The floor beneath was then sand
The ceiling now sky...now you and I
The makers of noise, a memory to forget
Just an inner existence of two
Each day we dance this way
Making song and venue all the same
Taking turns at leading step
For which of us hears the music
Will lead the other in a dance through it.....

glanced at one last rose in my garden!
deep crimson velvety petals -
incandescent as luminous horizon at sunset,
mystifying as the shadow of amber clouds
glowing as the colour of my pulsating, fluttering heart ~
at the delightful thoughts of being with my beloved.
summer is leaving ~
magical rose bush almost abandoned...
one last flower
bursting with radiant hues,
still smiling a ravishing smile ~
last dance of a ballerina ~
a jubilant performance of a creative soul,
before the curtain finally drops and
the performer fades away with a departing bow.
reminding the inevitability of separation, decay and death.
It is alone and lonely...
swaying and twirling on a brittle branch
final witness of the rejoicing,
I see the solitary beauty, bravely waiting to join its clan.....
I will wait to see the resurgence of a new bud ~
I will wait, and not despair.

What is this feeling that resides in me
I’ve felt it before, but not quiet the same
Was I stung by the sweetest honey bee
When did Cupid pass that I did not see
Certainly in this matter I have no shame
What is this feeling that resides in me
A nervousness I feel, coupled with glee
I am smiling a lot, but am not to blame
Was I stung by the sweetest honey bee
The experience makes me feel very free
But this moth has not eluded the flame
What is this feeling that resides in me
Something tells me, that I must decree
Inside there’s a wildness I can’t tame
Was I stung by the sweetest honey bee
I’ve felt some joy, but not of this degree
It must be real, yet it feels like a game
What is this feeling that resides in me
Was I stung by the sweetest honey bee

A time when women dressed as queens
And the queens used to ride like warriors
Men fought to live and lived to fight
And never went gently into that night.
To ride a *Marwari horse is to know the **Rajputs
To view a pair of perfectly curved ears
To see the twilight world of*** Rajasthan
To create frenzy of festivals a thousand and one.
To see Rajasthan, a gateway to the heart of
India’s spiritual and ceremonial heritage
.
Even in heaven horses are respected.
An old man and his horse came to a gate.
Man at the gate said, “Welcome to heaven
but animals are not allowed, Sorry!”
The old man ready to spend eternity outside.
as horse has been a faithful companion.
They came to a run down fence with no gate
A man invited, offering all the comforts of life
Smiling a big smile said, “Welcome to heaven”
The old man asked, "Is this heaven?"
The gate where you inquired is devil’s hell
He allows people ready to give up companion.
The old man asked, “Do you allow animals?”
Yes,”HE created animals to be men’s companions”.

Verse
Make each day better than the one before
Promise yourself a dinner at your favourite restaurant
Give yourself a gift of that sweater you had your eye on
Little things that help make life exciting and interesting
It's not selfish to treat yourself every once in a while
It makes for a happier existence
You'll find yourself humming happy tunes and smiling a lot
So what if people around you think you've lost it!
Keep 'em guessing and even add to the rumours
By occasionally doing outrageous things
Like sit-ups in the middle of the local mall
And when security escorts you out to your car
You keep singing those happy tunes and waving at everyone
This advice is likely not good for everyone!

Narrative
Lion the mighty king
Stood shaking his mighty mane
The tiger patiently slept
Guarding his extreme right
Elusive Amazonian jaguar
Licked his paws in salute
The leopard kneeled in front
Smiling a sly smile
Black panther flashed his teeth
Glaring at the top spot
The cheetah huffed and puffed
Ready to resume the charge
The predatory gleam rose
In the caracal’s eyes
The ocelot ate its meal
Unaware of the completion
The puma jumped forth
Ready for the next round
But the best ever title
Went to my cat Prittle
