A Faithful Companion-W

A time when women dressed as queens
And the queens used to ride like warriors
Men fought to live and lived to fight
And never went gently into that night.

To ride a *Marwari horse is to know the **Rajputs
To view a pair of perfectly curved ears
To see the twilight world of*** Rajasthan
To create frenzy of festivals a thousand and one.
To see Rajasthan, a gateway to the heart of
India’s spiritual and ceremonial heritage
.
Even in heaven horses are respected.
An old man and his horse came to a gate.
Man at the gate said, “Welcome to heaven
but animals are not allowed, Sorry!”
The old man ready to spend eternity outside.
as horse has been a faithful companion.
They came to a run down fence with no gate
A man invited, offering all the comforts of life
Smiling a big smile said, “Welcome to heaven”
The old man asked, "Is this heaven?"
The gate where you inquired is devil’s hell
He allows people ready to give up companion.
The old man asked, “Do you allow animals?”
Yes,”HE created animals to be men’s companions”.

Thank you for the info, Dr. As a result, I read up on these horses and their history in India, very elegant and proud history and a beautiful animal indeed. I do also like your first verse and still love it when women dress as queens instead of subjects.. and objects. Thank you for sharing this. Robert

Bonds between horses and riders are indeed strong, as evidenced by your character. I venture the horse feels the same! RAY

Beautiful writing of India. I had a good friend once that was from Punjab. He would always talk about rice fields. I once ate something he cooked, it was chicken with cayenne pepper, I forgot the name of the dish, it was really good though. Anyway I always love to hear about India. It reminds me of my friend. He prayed a lot, like in the middle of the day.
