No other man....Can make your heart smile like I do,
Because I appreciate you and know your value!
No other man....Will give you strength like I can.
I give you courage in those two shapely legs to stand.
No other man....Can make you feel sure and secure.
You know as well as I do this love is pure.
No other man....Will make your very essence glow,
And you know my M.O. so don't close your hearts window.
No other man....Can hand you the crown.
Only a king can understand and show you how to get down!
No other man....Will take your body beyond this physical plane,
Making passionate love to your brain!
No other man....Can kiss your lips, grip your hips like me,
Satisfying each fantasy going deep as the sea!
No other man....Can eat, preheat that oven like me;
Nor will another man make you cum continuously!
Bottomline what we share is without a doubt truly divine;
and no other man can stand the heat of your sunshine!!!
It is time to break out the oven mitts and apron.
Ready to indulge in a kitchen-ous sin
Little hands ready to stir the batter
Towels in Daddy's hands to clean the splatter.
Licking the spoon when eyes turn away,
This is serious business child, no time to play!
You grab the butter, I'll get the eggs
Oops, spilled the milk all down your legs
I'll go preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Making monster cookies is such an ease
I can't wait to taste them, I'm sure they are great
So glad for this time on our daddy/daughter date
There is sugar on the floor, and flour in your hair
Chocolate and peanut butter on your fingertips
Almost a dozen cookies on the cookie sheets
Some never made it, straight to our lips.
Two servings:
(Frozen) Don Miguel Mexican dinners
DO NOT remove plastic cover
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit
(Ovens may vary, cooking times
may require adjustment)
DO NOT prepare in toaster oven
Bake on cookie sheet 30-35 minutes
Carefully remove as PRODUCT WILL BE HOT
Let stand for two minutes
Transfer BOTH items to non-plastic plate
Then proceed as instructed...
To fling open cabinets and fridge
Chop one onion (Don't waste a smidge)
Douse with hot sauce, salsa and cheese
Place in Micro at highest degree
Remove one fork and tablespoon
(Oh man, I'm beginning to swoon)
Turn on your satellite cable
Place REVERENTLY on TV Table
One HEAPING spoonful to begin
(Ow! Melted cheese on my chin)
Place one gooey mess in your mouth
Chew slightly then swallow it south
Ahhhh...What's for dessert?
Add one part boredom, two parts hate.
A stick of narrow mindedness, you may adjust to taste.
Crack open shallow influences from a broken home.
Make sure the loathing stays, but discard the shell and yolk.
Stir up trouble for about 5 minutes.
Some choose to use a pinch of cultural indifference.
Preheat the oven to 365.
Procrastination warms up fast, watch the temperature rise.
Butter up the tray with a nice thick glaze of doubt.
Put hope on the back burner...you won't need it now.
After half an hour your excuses should be done.
Take them out, frost and cover them with oppression.
Garnish with ignorance, now, your disaster can be unfurled...
A last meal...
on the table set...
you could say...
...it serves the world.

Cake of Creation; Poetry by
Susan M. Walker, 2014
Honeycomb pans preheat in the sun;
filled of warm nectar so sweet;
confection made by bees.
Cooperation among honey bees;
bakers collaborating with sun;
produce oozing nectar, sugar-sweet.
Natures flowers, filled with liquid, sweet
thanks to numerous, hard working honey bees
crafted in an oven of radiating sun.
A sweet tooth has ancient sun;
Sol bakes flowing rivers, sweet;
with the help of his buddies, the bees.
chill to take my breath away
the tailpipe streamers
this day trip must take place
a cozy talk
heater on sun-strength
Dad bundled up
dust, sweep, mop
clean and sanitize
drop and talk
olives stabbed
martini sipped
Dad dips
his glass
to Mom’s ashes
preheat air fryer
flipping burgers
preheat oven
turning frozen fries
drop and talk
my Dad’s alive
this day trip must end
with tailpipe streamers
wall to wall traffic
and a warm smile
and a hand
as my husband
helps me unload
drop and talk
after I text
my Dad
and he
texts back a red heart
and tells me
he loves me
Wild beans
You make my farts sing
You make everything poopy,
Wild beans.
Wild beans, I think I'll bake you
Cuz I wanna eat for sure
So come and preheat the oven
I'm lovin' Wild beans...
Without worry I sit and wonder
When the next batch will come.
Dough rolled out, stretched and pulled,
Broken into pieces and stuck in the oven. Without the confines of an cookie cutter; natural in every way. An free form of emotional bliss laid flat on the pan.
I patiently wait, green plate on the table waiting for the oven to preheat.
The dough rises becoming smaller.
I only hope you understand
How lovely it is to be near someone you love.
Without the concealment of air tight bags they are free, the cookies that bake in the oven soon to be placed on a plate, devoured.
Introduced to the seduction of crumbs that come together; sweet, delightful
Before it fully hardens.
Soft, delightful.
Skinny dipping in an pool of cookie dough.
An illusion of things whole until broken apart by lips in full desire.
Drenched in saliva of deep need
Simultaneously becoming an memory
As well as a part of smiling lips.
The mistletoe that hangs above the heart.
Waiting for another batch made by your hands
please, would you kindly teach me how to make sense?
write me up a list of ingredients?
i need rest
i need rest
should i preheat the oven to 1,400 degrees?
maybe it'll bake better if i watch more closely?
i need rest
i need rest
i forget the rest
i forget the rest.

*I wrote this poem on January 20, 2024, as part of a ’30 days of poetry’ January challenge. This was day 20 and the prompt was: Write your poem in the form of a recipe. This can be for something tangible, such as a cake, or it can be a more abstract concept such as love or happiness. List ingredients and directions for mixing and tips for cooking up your concept to perfection.

I’m not one to boast
But this morning I was able to look up from the abyss
My mind clear and sharp
The wave subsided
The overwhelming rush of love and regret abated.
And for the first time in weeks
I didn’t burn the toast.
Looking ahead toward dinner
I may take some root vegetables,
Parsley , rosemary and olive oil
Preheat the oven to 400
Cut out my tortured heart, add it to the root vegetables
And let them roast.
