Monster Cookies

It is time to break out the oven mitts and apron.
Ready to indulge in a kitchen-ous sin
Little hands ready to stir the batter
Towels in Daddy's hands to clean the splatter.
Licking the spoon when eyes turn away,
This is serious business child, no time to play!
You grab the butter, I'll get the eggs
Oops, spilled the milk all down your legs
I'll go preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Making monster cookies is such an ease
I can't wait to taste them, I'm sure they are great
So glad for this time on our daddy/daughter date
There is sugar on the floor, and flour in your hair
Chocolate and peanut butter on your fingertips
Almost a dozen cookies on the cookie sheets
Some never made it, straight to our lips.
