Day Trip 2 18 2025

chill to take my breath away
the tailpipe streamers
this day trip must take place

a cozy talk
heater on sun-strength
Dad bundled up

dust, sweep, mop
clean and sanitize
drop and talk

olives stabbed
martini sipped
Dad dips
his glass
to Mom’s ashes

preheat air fryer
flipping burgers

preheat oven
turning frozen fries

drop and talk
my Dad’s alive

this day trip must end
with tailpipe streamers
wall to wall traffic

and a warm smile
and a hand
as my husband
helps me unload

drop and talk
after I text
my Dad
and he
texts back a red heart
and tells me
he loves me

A warm heart helps deal with any cold. Lovely, well thought out poetry. Easy to follow, and equally delightful! Every day life often makes the best subject matter for poetry. Have a great day my friend.

I guess sometimes we must all have to face the cold, sometimes cold put upon us - some people get warmed by us and then we all catch it though - <3

Every day, my friend. A large picture of mom next to her purple usn. Dad smiles andgets teary eyed every time. Thank you, my friend. Loved each other for 61 years.

this is quite touching poem, my parents are both deceased and they come in my dreams frequently, a poem that conveys deep interrogations for me, enjoyed
