Best Pear Poems
We all enjoy the apple, grape and cherry
We all eat the orange, as if it was air
We never forget our favorite berry
But what about the bulging pear?
As I remove the banana from the cut glass
I leave my poor little pear
like countless others, in this worldwide farce
It lies alone in its cut glass lair
I taste the banana, long, firm, almost white
But I see it's mournful green spotted eye
I have finally realized the lonesome plight
Like some old, forgotten half baked pie
I place the Banana down upon the table
and I grip my long forgotten Pear
Like a scene from an old story or fable
I engage the fruit in my lustful stare
I pierce the skin with my long sharp teeth
I hold the fruit, now naked and bare
I re-discover the joy that lied beneath
I am sorry, my vastly underrated pear.
Certain moments make this all worthwhile
'Random' presets left but to defile
Blink your eyes to see the flash of white
Blink once more to gain a different sight
Milliseconds gazing at the stars
In which I understood you as you are
And in that time the notion came to me
A sigh of love bled out of honesty
The story of a bruised and rotting pear
That learned to dance on wind and open air

middle of august
I went to the orchard to pick a pear.
I picked another so I’d have a pair.
But now their skins I’d have to pare.
One was all I had gone there for
but soon I had a basket with four.
For room, I moved them to the fore.
It got late and I had quite the load.
The hens roosted and the cattle lowed.
As I was leaving, I hit the Mother lode!
Well, now I had enough pears to sell.
Maybe I could even have a pear sale
or send them overseas by para sail.
Okay, I’m finished with my tall tale.
Oh, and about your day, please do tell!
I’m outta here – I’m draggin’ my tail.
Down where the willow trees blossom
And the pear blooms white as cotton
An old man works summer's garden
Though worn out from years of hard work
And the pear blooms white as cotton
Touched by God's grace and sweet kindness
Though worn out from years of hard work
There'll be a pear crop come autumn
Touched by God's grace and sweet kindness
An old man works summer's garden
There'll be a pear crop come autumn
Down where the willow tree blossoms

My hubby came home with a grin
Said “I’ve booked us a trip to Turin”
I found my bikini
it looked oh so teeny
now I’m fasting to fit myself in
I cut out the chocolate and cake
well apart from one tiny mistake
on my diet of pear
gently poached in fresh air
I should soon be as thin as a rake
But my efforts were sadly in vain
My wobbly bits were for stayin
They just wouldn’t budge
So I brought out the fudge
ate it all, now I’m praying for rain
I know I'm surely not the most beautiful tree
For my leaves and form are really quite plain
All year I quietly stand and bide my time
In the fall I bear fruit, the waiting not in vain..
Finally my branches yield globes of green an gold
I bear their weight with pride and such delight
With reluctant pleasure at last I let them go
My yearly efforts a beautiful fall delight...
The season passes and comes the rain and snow
Then it seems in a much different role I'm cast
For a lovely partridge on my branch will perch
And just perhaps I am really beautiful at last......

robins swoosh around
up and down the pear tree stands
gails blew pollen dusts
robins left the tree
fearing a storm will blow hard
the pear tree was sad
a new pair dropped by
finches revel with raindrops
pear tree smiled, birds soothed
Prickly pear cactus
Beautiful yellow blooms, sticks
Thorns, gives food somehow
This darn belly fat came out of nowhere
I swear that yesterday it wasn't there
I'm so freaking mad
Need a doughnut bad
Can't stand that I look like a fricken pear...
