The Maker of the Stars

THE MAKER OF THE STARS

Giant candles in the night sky
Flicker for me as they pass by
YOUR majesty is what comes shining through

When I’m stuck in stormy weather
The stars help me feel better
Knowing where I am-helps lead me to YOU

BUT…there’s no deeper meaning
To star-lights last gleaming
‘cause their light can only show us THE WAY.

Chorus
You won’t find the answers in the stars,
They can only show you where you are,
Pray for understanding, even if HE feels so far
Pray to the maker of the stars

That ever-present empty feeling
Is an evidence revealing,
You need a connection with your maker too!

Hard to know how to feel better,
With missing pages in the letter,
Can’t decipher forever without YOU

Chorus-2
Look to the maker of the stars,
To understand just who we are
Pray for understanding, even if HE feels so far
Pray to the maker of the stars

Bridge
It might seem that there’s a surplus
(The stars are everywhere)
Each one of them has a purpose
Life’s a crazy circus (without YOU)

Chorus
You won’t find the answers in the stars,
They can only show you where you are,
Pray for understanding, even if HE feels so far
Pray to the maker of the stars

Chorus repeat

She wore a gingham apron,
battled dirt on hands and knees
while garments washed swayed brightly
on a clothesline in the breeze.

She sewed and worked a garden,
did the dishes all by hand;
her wiggling giggling kids
would straighten up at her command.

Her leftovers were loved as much
as was the ginger cake
she drizzled with that special sauce
she always used to make.

Today they’d call her backwards,
for no feminist was she!
But all she’d ever daydreamed of
was what she came to be.

The Watch Maker

The Watch Maker…

Let me be, leave me alone, I'm Him, I'm alone.
I'm in pain; let me be, let me be, on my own.
All the time, every night, I see their vanished sights.
Let me be, being alone, tired of silent nights.
In this world of darkness, I feel pain and sadness.
Nothing there in my heart only beats emptiness.
In this sad cave of time, I suffered from my crime.
I suffered with this pain; pain is there all the time.
Time is pain; I feel trapped, I cannot face the fact.
Who am I? Watchmaker, I don't know how to act.
Fault me not if I did what I did on my own,
I am here, lonely nights, sleepless, all alone.
What I did in my mind I made it partly blind.
I made it for my sake, what I hoped yet to find.
I have dreamt of the sun; shining sun seemed like fun.
No more fear, no more fright, a good deed I have done.
With the light, I can see a luscious land full of trees,
shining jewels, red and green, dancing with morning breeze.
I made birds fly too high, no more pain, no more cry.
Rainbow near, out of clouds, oceans there in the sky.
I made grapes; I made wine; holy wine suits me fine.
I made drunks; I am drunk; drunks, to me, are divine.
I gave love; I gave truth to all men's sins of youth.
I gave life, I gave death, I gave all reckless truth.
I shall sleep all night long to have dreams of the light.
If I wake up tonight, all your days will be night.
I need you more than I; if you live, I don't die,
Who is it? You or I; if we're one, both can fly.
Am I drunk, maybe mad? Let me be, I'll be glad.
Don't wake me. I'll be mad, knowing that you feel bad.

This should be against the laws of nature
Heavy snow in late March should be banned
Just when our anxious hearts start to lighten
This blast creates another winter wasteland

This unsteady mind of mine just can't take it
What seems more like half a year of winter
It just drags on and on till time ceases
Sure would like to talk with the administrator

Okay maybe I should relax a wee bit more
But the frozen north can be a bit much
Too late at my advanced age to be concerned
But oldies can sometimes lose touch

Sorry for causing concern but says we care
Will try to relax more and “Let it be”
Sounds like an old Beatles hit from the past
They were the absolute one and only

Soul Seeks Its Maker
(Scent of My Soul)

Soul seeks its maker for great relief
from grave doubts in spiritual belief
Mysteries sent to tantalize the mind
journey forth the true light to find

Little voices singing in ones head
suggesting other dark paths instead
My Soul giving its answer so firm
only the light I seek can ever affirm

Scent of my Soul floating in my heart
each beat grants it a newborn start
As my heart slows for a restful sleep
my brain journeys forth into the deep

Destination unknown, course rightly set
spiritual butterflies caught in my net
Answers are given in the flapping wings
Soul given rest as beauty stirs to sing

Music springs lovingly in rhythmic time
thoughts and joys given so truly sublime
My Soul then wakes to each newborn day
with love and its spirit holding sway

The Peace Maker

.

                                                         Oh restless spirit

Seek the one that calms the storm

                                                      And in Him find peace

Ode To the Home-Maker

I sing praise to the home-maker,
forgotten hero of the world,
whose actions raise up good children,
whether they be a boy or girl.

Whose presence is there to guide us
in a world that can seem half-damned,
who invest more love into us
than a day-care aide even can.

Who have a vested interest in
seeing that we are brought up well,
their children being their life’s work,
the results of this you can tell:

Less instance of mental illness,
less nihilism and despair,
less major social dysfunction
knowing that someone will be there.

They also provide a model
to their children subconsciously,
showing them how to structure their
own futures homes and families.

They give a agree of value to
a child just starting in life,
to know they’re so important that
another will freely sacrifice.

They teach those kids to realize,
that in a world so harsh and tough,
their existence isn’t nothing,
they are truly worthy of love.

And I think it should be mentioned
what home-makers do for their spouse,
building the kind of refuge that
reality rarely allows.

Making it so the house is more
then a shelter you happen to own,
making a place for life to happen,
turning board and glass to a home.

So many homes now without,
and the results haven’t been great,
children are depressed and stressed out,
many marriages end in hate.

Millennials not having children,
they never were shown why they should,
too many drugs and school shooters,
wherever we’ve gone, it’s not good.

Using daycare, the latch and key,
too much emphasis on career,
tells our kids they’re second-fiddle,
would be easier if they weren’t here.

Throwing away the cornerstone
of any balanced child’s mind,
demonizing those who stay home
when in truth I think we would find

That all of us would do better
with more stay-at-home parenting,
we should pray for more home-makers,
on their shoulders rest near everything…

The Rain Maker

Sweet rain is hammering the dry ground
Dirt turning to muddy foundations
Leaves nodding their heads to the sound
Gaia smiling upon her creations
The earth with green is gowned
Eudora now pouring her libations
To Ceres, with grain is crowned
Patron, we give our adoration
The fruits of your harvest abound

Premium Member Large Dress Maker

To the right of my screen, what should I see?
There’s a plus-sized blonde wearing a dress that’s pretty.
Kudos to you for making clothes for the large lady.
Those are the kinds of women that appeal to me.

What you are selling them really looks nice.
Your clothing does justice for a big girl at a good price.
I want to see a woman of mine in your dress.
For the business you are in, I wish you success.

The Coffin-Maker

Tight like
coffin,
black like
nightmare...
The coffin-maker likes his black tight
wagon, driven by the mare at night.

How the Widow Maker
Changed My Life
Written: by Tom Wright
6/21/2018

With each eyes blink I observe,
 My life in constant change;
It requires of me, almost daily,
Some things I must re-arrange;

Problems, all health associated,
Prevent my accomplishing much.
Some days I’m feeling depressed,
Others, anxious, and out of touch;

But as I glimpse this past year,
I’ve never questioned why?
Because I’m constantly driven,
 By a much greater force than I;

As death’s shadow lingered,
Prayer warriors began to pray.
In the quietness of dawn,
My departure God would stay.

I’m thankful my Doctors sagacity,
God didn’t compromise.
The “Widow Maker” has given me,
Renewed focus on the prize.

It is said the first flag maker was Ms. Betsy Ross
Was also said she could do well with some dental floss
As one can imagine twas because she ran out of thread
She forgot to order it because she didn't take her meds

Premium Member The Dream-Maker

As the darkness of the night looms in
The Dream-Maker visits us in our bed.
He rides a fine steed of fiery black
With reins as fine as a spider's web.

By his side he carries a golden sword
He never slows down, never lingers.
A salesman dreams of his next commission
As the Dream-Maker rides over greedy fingers.

With silver armour that glistens in the night
He rides through the brain of a radio deejay.
Who dreams of non-stop talking
Without really knowing what to say.

To fool all the people
All of the time is a politician's desire.
So he dreams of an extra brain
In the hope it will make him wiser.

With an helmet concealing an empty face
The Dream-Maker glides over a teacher's lips.
Who dreams of a hidden smile.
To watch over exams that students sit.

No-one will see the Dream-Maker arrive
No-one can escape the Dream-Maker's curse.
Not even the factory creep dreaming of a tongue
Long enough to lick the boss’s ****.

The Dream Maker

You and i walking on the beach in my dreams,
Everything is perfect or at least that is how it seems.
Your laughing and giggling still something don't feel right,
Because i know if i were to wake it was just for the night.
You had that sparkle in your eyes and that smile on your face,
The dream was so real i could smell, touch, and taste.
We swam in the ocean and collected sand dollars on the beach,
There wasn't a moment in this dream that you were out of my reach.
We made love in the sunset and watched the stars in the sky,
Then the Dream Maker showed up and suddenly you began to cry.
He said"Hurry make it hasty." and i couldn't understand why.
At that moment I realized that this was just a dream,
I wish it could last forever; hell i'd do anything.
I pleaded with the Dream Maker to stall a little time,
Then you instantly vanished and I lost once again what was mine.
I woke up in a prison cell to a picture of your face,
With a sand dollar in my hand and that oh so familiar taste.
