THE MAKER OF THE STARS

Giant candles in the night sky
Flicker for me as they pass by
YOUR majesty is what comes shining through

When I’m stuck in stormy weather
The stars help me feel better
Knowing where I am-helps lead me to YOU

BUT…there’s no deeper meaning
To star-lights last gleaming
‘cause their light can only show us THE WAY.

You won’t find the answers in the stars,
They can only show you where you are,
Pray for understanding, even if HE feels so far
Pray to the maker of the stars


That ever-present empty feeling
Is an evidence revealing,
You need a connection with your maker too!

Hard to know how to feel better,
With missing pages in the letter,
Can’t decipher forever without YOU

Yes, He will show us where we are but not always reveal how to go. His great gift of choice is sometimes a burden for me. You’ve put your feelings into beautiful lyrics, John. Well done. He provides the sun and moon and stars for our orientation, he gives his word for moral guidance so were never left not knowing what to do, we just need to listen to him when he speaks(through his word the Bible that is) thanks again!

And though I have friends who are into astrology, as one who owned an offshore fishing boat for many years, I relied on the stars sometimes at night when waves were rough and my GPS was jumpy. I relate to the feelings you express in your beautiful lyrics. Have you written music for it, or is it intended to be a lyric poem? A fave for me, John. Far offshore, I always felt at one with God and nature.
