Best Juliet Poems
Such deep, impassioned, love
startles our mortal ways.
Could we possibly have that
same eternal love?
Flowing in our souls and blood,
and being blind, make light of it?
How blessed, how young, how
fortunate,lovers they!
To refuse on this fetid earth to stay.
And of poison did imbibe and hence
dance forever in a moonlit sky.,
Willing to live in eternity, together. oh!
Not a beautiful flower, nor a stunning
sunset, no!
Could keep them here, why, on this so
controlling a place!
Be still this night and you will hear their
enchanting and bubbling laughter..
It whispers in trees, eternally, day and
night, a fortnight and foreverafter.
Poem ~1~
February 14, 2024
it's morning again;
i watched the sun yawn across the sky
making its way to my window
but the stars were still in your eyes
and last night's dew, still fresh
as i laid in your arms wanting more
wanting anything but a new day.
i always hated good-byes;
arms locked tightly around one another
lips pressing firmly while tired tongues whispered
"i love you" over and over again
but the hands of time never held still
and we'd start to part, then repeat the process
over and over again holding what we could from night
but day always dressed us
moved us along
left us standing alone.
i saw lover's leap;
it was this big rocky cliff
jutting out of the side of a mountain
and i settled deep in my own thoughts,
i'd like to climb it,
before sunrise,
when the stars are still fresh in your eyes
and the dew still wet between us,
kiss you,
close my eyes
and whisper "i love you"
over and over again
without having to say good-bye.
He yearned for a modern Romeo moment - but she lived on tenth floor.
Dear Juliet is on her balcony -
awash in moonlight. Do you see her there?
Her form - how graceful, and her face - how fair!
She is a pearl which night stole from the sea
and placed beneath the stars to spellbind me!
Behold the luster of her auburn hair.
The sun has set, bright red, and yet I’d swear
it lingers in her long locks so fiery!
How fortunate am I in that the Fates
have given me the love of Juliet,
for she’s a gem while I am but a stone.
And see how patiently this goddess waits.
She has her pick of any suitor. . . yet
she’s chosen me and waits for me alone!
Thou art to me the fairest crimson rose,
A tender bloom with dawn's first colour gilt;
Yet ev'ry flow'r in mortal clime that grows,
Is here for but a time, and then does wilt.
By all I e'er held dear, I now aver,
That though a rose may wilt, yet still 'tis sweet;
I only hope a place I could secure
In fondest adoration at thy feet.
For fairness found in form and face will fail,
But that within the heart may shine undimmed;
Though nothing for youth's beauty may avail,
A heart with golden deeds may yet be rimmed.
My Juliet, in truth I do declare,
I love thee not for youthful beauty fair.
I thought, love, I would never find. And then suddenly, I was spell bound
It would blow your mind! For the love I have for you is so profound
You came into my life way back when, and like magic you stole my heart
The love was universal poetry and I would follow you from the start
I would follow you to the ends of the earth; beyond the rainbow’s bend
If I die before you, I’ll rebirth! ..For you are my Juliet and I am your
Romeo!
I wasn’t looking for love, just having fun, sharing some inspiration
Never thought I’d come to love again, this was not my expectation
You say I stole your heart, well, mine got stolen too!
And yes, we did write beautiful poetry which forever stands as good
I’ll always be your angel in and out of time, because of this special bond
And should I die before you, I’ll return! For you are my Romeo and I, your
Juliet!
JULIET
Your long black hair, set in a velvet bow
Your well set shoulders tell me all I know
That you and I are no betoken age
As you take your bounding place upon my stage
So glad your grace, so lovely you of limb
That counting clans of discord does not dim
Your radiant eye, your gentleness of touch
Which show how I need you and how much
I read your looks with love in every line
Dream all night, and in your arms incline
Such gentleness and looseness all is won
Our beleaguered families need you as a sun
So much so, that you and I are all
The world needs to cleanse it of its gall.
Years and years have been lost to time, thousands of days,
nights, and morrows seen and despised out of immense ache,
The Juliet of my early youth is no more, transformed into a
stranger, yet my love dies not! Though I plead and beg for
her to recall and rekindle the love affair of many moments ago,
She bears news of her plans of wedded bliss to another, news that
I curse my eyes for seeing, ears for hearing, and heart for knowing
is true! With desolate heart and soul, corrupted mind, and disregard
of future as that of a mad man, I fall to my knees and scream,
"God and heaven alike, I defy and deny you both! For no
father of mine would rip asunder my motivation for humanity!
Nor does any paradise remain alive without her presence!"
Be it his decree that I hurt for eternity both alive and deceased
then be it my decree that his life and love never was!
Thus I have become what I am, with no rue nor shame,
For I am not the tender Romeo that once lived and breathed,
No more do I dwell in her heart or mind, and no more do I wish
any essence of a Romeo dwell inside my soul, for my Juliet
is buried and lost in abundances of new days. No day, nor night,
nor morrow is good for me, Sans trust, Sans faith, Sans morality,
Sans love do I wish to have or hold, Dead but still breathing I am,
Condemned to memories and dreams of elated yesteryears,
denying my own will, but loyal to that promise which cannot
be broken by even the cold lifelessness of heartache, I shriek,
and yawp, and yell, and raise my voice beyond the sting of pain, as
I wake each night, bleeding the same sound from my lips,
"Juliet!, Juliet!!, Juliet!!!" Repeated until my eyes are dry and
my voice is drained to the most silent of whispers, I force out,
over tears, over ache, over agony, over all, in one last breath,
"Juliet"
Bernadette and Juliet
Alone, alone in her mind
as she sleeps comfortably
now alone permanently
as she drifts away un-noticed
Was it Bernadette or Juliet
that flew away
as the designer was given
a one thousand gun salute
As the glittering buttons
of a non-existent dress
grabs many headlines
allows many excuses to forget
So the role models fling their false tears
not speaking to, not noticing
the unplanned photographers,
Tv cameras that the PR people sent
As our models of hope
are wrenched apart
their love still untouched
by the ravages of the real? world
And all that is left is a world
that can't look smart, that will find
something else to pay ten grand for
in a world with one fewer true love's passion
Again , she pines on barren stars
and clasps the handrail of despair,
maiden of night, gazing afar
Juliet speaks to feeble air .
Oh, hours trickle on beats quite piled,
that mock a future then decide
unmoved, her pulse begins to roam
of fevered thoughts on walls, alone.
With ebon clouds that float midway
she ponders, restless as a breeze,
compelled to seek this dream-like play
that waits for lovers' melodies.
Yet tresses blow without relief,
for love denied like winter thief
as silence drapes the skyline’s veil
on empty porch howling farewell.

For those concerned: This is JAM's Proposition and I obliged...now I already know that this will generate all the talk on Soup!! Have fun guys!
Carefree spirits a smile away
encompasses a youth today
Noble bearing and light of feet
I hope there is a chance to meet
Passed by and by in crowded space
Our eyes caressing each other's face
Racing pulse and temperature rise
Which in blushing I tried to hide
High visions floating in mind's eye
Dissolves in realistic sigh
What will tomorrow's morning bring
If declaring, my heart, shall sing.
Shakespeare's quill gave Romeo and Juliet a tragic ending
but that's a sad love story I think needs a bit of mending.
Yes, he's the Bard, but quite frankly it broke my heart
to learn they both died needlessly. I hated that part.
In my rewritten dialogue between them, I'd find a way
to change their ill-fated future and have Juliet say,
"Romeo, it's only for you that my heart will ere yearn.
I will simply fake my death and when our families learn
that we've left Verona, we will be married... man and wife
and be together as we have planned, happy with life."
The messenger she sent to give Romeo the good news,
I'd replace with a more diligent one that I would choose.
I'd have made the couple more intelligent and shrewd,
perhaps put an end to the Montague and Capulet feud.
The tale of star-crossed lovers would end on a happy note,
without Juliet seeming to have died. No need for an antidote.
When Juliet says, "Romeo. Romeo. Wherefore art thou?"
He would come to her on the balcony, and he would vow...
"Juliet, I swear, never did my heart love until now.
For I never saw true beauty til this night,
and if perchance our families had forbidden us to wed,
from Verona we would've left. From Italy we would've fled.
With apologies to Shakespeare, my edit I would offer,
not a penny nor one Euro would I take for my coffer.
Indulge me for just a moment for I'm a romantic at heart,
and dared alter the ending by not keeping the couple apart.
Juliet
If perchance that thou should dance.
Twould be the light fantastic,
Hath no power in deference,
Might death, if called, be askance,
Thy breath be sweet,
Julia bequeathes, requites,
Unholy, mist of passion,
perchance to bride claim, yet myself,
olde English takes a lashing

Romeo and Juliet take a hike
You had something pretty nice
I've got the whole world but I'm alone
I've become a one girl tragedy
Out of my mind
Lost capacity
A ghost who wishes to be seen
Pathetically partner less cause
Love's been one sided affair
Romeo and Juliet; at least they were a pair
