Notes About The Poem

The Star Crossed Lovers, Romeo and Juliet

       Such deep, impassioned, love
       startles our mortal ways.
       Could we possibly have that
       same eternal love?
Flowing in our souls and blood,
and being blind, make light of it?

       How blessed, how young, how
       fortunate,lovers they!
To refuse on this fetid earth to stay.
And of poison did imbibe and hence
dance forever in a moonlit sky.,

Willing to live in eternity, together. oh!
Not a beautiful flower, nor a stunning
       sunset, no!
Could keep them here, why, on this so
       controlling a place!

Be still this night and you will hear their
       enchanting and bubbling laughter..
It whispers in trees, eternally, day and
       night, a fortnight and foreverafter.

                  Poem ~1~

Hi Paige, it surprised me, too! It was interesting how my poet- mentor in Britain, saw a line most significant~ that I totally missed After I wrote the poem, I almost changed the line…so glad I did not! One poetess saw this happen only saw 3 times in a few years. (Where a POTD and POTW are almost back to back.) I really was considering a stop to writing altogether! I shall carry on, now. And still have a long way to go. Your comments do help! Panagiota with gratitude and hugs!!

Dearest Paula, being with your friend as a source of solace is dar more significant than any POTD, ever.i do not consider it a win in any way, have you ever found me looking for one? I was in 2 contests in four years. Many of my poems astae ny stand on this, there are so maby forms yet to learb, so mant pietsI have never read, so its not in my heart to win In addition. The POTDand POTW are acts of recognition, not done by Soupers, nor are there thousands run nby poets. That is far too many~ but I realize others thrive on them.l know you get it! Thank you for being part of my to support team herel hohs,Pangie xxx

Dearest Pangie, WOW! Your words transported me to a realm where love transcends mortal boundaries, where passion knows no bounds, and where the soul's desire for eternal union finds passionate expression. The depth of emotion and the lyrical beauty inked into each stanza left me in awe. Your portrayal of Romeo and Juliet's love as an enduring flame, flickering against the backdrop of a world that seeks to confine it, is both haunting and sublime. Your words evoke a sense of timelessness and longing that is felt deeply. Moreover, your poem serves as a call to the power of love to defy even the most formidable obstacles, to transcend the limitations of our earthly existence, and to endure beyond the constraints of time itself. Congratulations on being honored as the POTD for such a masterful piece of work. Your talent shines brightly, and I have no doubt that your words will continue to inspire and uplift all who have the privilege of encountering them. - Blessings, Daniel

David! Hurrah, I got the page to work. Thank you for the many accolades about this poem There is no use in pretending that I can write as an intelligent reply as the comment you just posted.. that would be insane. Thank you for going to the ends of the Earth to complement this poem. It shows what a big heart you have for lanother person.. I prefer this type of comment compared to a text-type comment. it is enormous help to the poet who wrote the poem. Much appreiared, Pangie xx

After I saw the Zeferellis momovie version movie od the star crossed lovers, I was hooked on his poetry and his plays, well later movies of Romeo and Juliet can’t compare. It don’t even come close. The movie is available I think for five dollars on YouTube… See if you can. Thank you for being here today.. Hugs, Pangie cx
