“You try to be faithful
And sometimes you're cruel.
You are mine. Then, you leave.
Without you, I can't cope."
Rumi

in the kingdom of love,
nothing is simple,
not even musings,
so tell me:
in your annoyance
do you still think of me
or am i just another
common cliché

in Rumi's philosophies
for cosmic connections,
must we be a
contradiction of circumstance
when our story has been sung
beyond the reach of stars,
so despite the dystopian demons,
i keep hope in the invisible
golden harp strings,
yet to compose our swansong

oh mistress of medusa
in splitting seasons,
when serpents spit venom,
your British horizon soul,
coupled with your
climate change heart,
procreate porcelain patience,
where rhythms of rage
lead to breathless silence,
but i never forget you

it can be tiresome
battling against
ebony lashes from
metaphorical daggers
when vertigo eyes
hunt for their prey
and i wonder if i
was at shooting distance
would you pull the
trigger to rip my
heart like shredding
secretive documents

but despite bonfire breaths,
my samurai spirit has
become immune to
momentary flames,
adopting a mermaid mind,
finding sanctuary in
deep waters until
the last ember dies,
as at the end of each storm,
when rainbows reappear,
i resurface upon your
ivory shores,
for what am i,
but a sea urchin and
you the empress of the sea,
so each time you are cruel,
i wait for the return of
tender gestures,
as i know it is your
veil of vulnerability

you hide from the world,
but in the intricacies of conflict,
i am still the moonlight
glowing upon your ripples,
as i know the code to
your handcrafted heart,
floating in wandering waves,
as you still ignite intimate spiritual
sparks of soothing sensuality,
so never abandon me - forever

in the imperfections of love,
in my abundance of flaws
i know you adore me
internally and externally,
for we are refuge and
safe haven for the broken,
like a masterpiece of
alliterative adjectives
glowing like gems
in topaz textures upon
mookaite mosaics

I know I'm no
Leonardo Di Caprio,
I've never been as
romantic as Romeo,
so love me for
what I am today,
I am not your past
of wasted sunsets,
so ascend with me like
tomorrow's sunrise

Premium Member A Dream Weaved

Your tapestry
weaved with strands of light
Contrasted with threads of black
A marvelous mosaic
of a wondrous soul

I drape you over me
Feel your warmth
am nurtured
I hear the tune of you
Singing your happy songs
Yet if I listen
Closer
just a little closer
I am drenched with your tears
The alternate other you
I open you up
Lay you on the ground
Marvel at the intricacies of you
All the subtleties
The bold designs
Shapes I could never imagine
You are magnificent
Breathtaking
Awe inspiring
Contrasts co-existing
Harmony within each part

I resist the urge
To fold you up
Place you on a shelf
Keep you all to my self
A treasure just for my eyes to see
I look around
It's not up to me
You are connected to all
Other tapestries and endless sea
carried away by them you us and me
So I marvel and just let you be
Magnificent
Funny
Beautiful
Complicated
Lovely
Breathtaking
You

Premium Member Life At a Glance

Enamored, I sit, in mystique of space and time
Glancing at intricacies of ebullience sublime
Contemplating mystery of universe all alone
Through echoes of destiny, heard and known,
Where birds roam, prairies bloom, oceans flow,
And lauding its miracles tranquil seasons glow
Enchanting passions of life, intimately I know.

Life at a glance is a bouquet of fresh flowers,
Exuberant pitter-patter of April rain showers,
Valleys and hills gracing resplendent meadows,
Sometimes sun-lit, sometimes in shadows,
Invigorating senses in fragrance of budding rose
Life is a bond of love that blossoms and grows--
A melody, a rhythm, a song every heart knows.

Alas, the happy vibes reside, tailing teary eyes,
For every smile somewhere, someone cries,
Dark clouds often daub expanse of blue skies,
Dense fogs precede beauteous morning rise,
And every celebration of success victory calls,
Someone on a steep-climb stumbles and falls.

Yet, hope of a new dawn always pierces dark
And replaces wolf-howls with sweet songs of lark,
So, I let mornings rise on ebullience of blue skies
Enamored in space, time, letting life actualize.

Vanquishing all reservation
 twilight's prelude heralds
 shadowy anticipation
of a secret amorous thirst
He surrenders once more
to his darkest desires
amplifies the sultry ambiance
with star spangled bursts

A slave in her entity
tremulous in her splendour
Captivating and illuminating
this shadowy tryst
yet her heart beats not in rhythm
to the songs he composes
she dismisses him once more

Saying… ‘it is what it is’
However, through chinks of his ardour
ebbing resplendence
Predominant primacy
hard to resist will persist
refusing to believe …’it is what it is’
refusing to believe …’it is what it is’

The intricacies of love
too difficult to fathom
Her preference mismatched
he cannot define
her daily mantra
heightens sensations
reserved for the one
 who appears to outshine?

Nothing but ineffectual
is her discordant course
the unyielding reality
of it drives him insane
and through the ebbing darkness
she hears him screaming ….’it is NOT what it is
It is Not what it is’

No satin ropes will tether
her cosmic line of duty
No romantic soft liaison
would induce her to stay
Tremulous and tender
her love cruelly wanders
from his romantic serenade
she turns her light away
Succumbs to his enemy…Day

whispering softly…. ‘it is what it is
It is what it is’

Premium Member If I Never

If I never write another poem again
Will you remember me
All the parts of my heart I exposed
The morsels of my soul
The intricacies
The pain
My manufactured pieces of joy
Humor
Wisdom from a fools pen
Stains dripped from a troubled mind
I sit here with head in hand
Looking at a blank page
Fearing I have nothing left to say
Coaxing my brain to respond

Drip
Drip
A word
A corresponding heart beat
An image projected
Displayed
Choreographed
Spinning
Coming to life
I wish you to reach out
Take it in your hand
Feel touch
Smell
live within the space
Allow the idea to expand
Grow beyond a page

Put leaves on my trees
Climb my branches
Drink from my streams
Add color to my rainbow
Breathe through my lungs
See through my looking glass
For if I never write another poem again
I can sigh and say
It has all been worthwhile
You heard my call
Responded
Understood
Seen the previously unseen
Walked along my landscapes
Left a part of yourself
Drank from my cup
Sat at my table
You my honored guests
The one I will remember
For you are the reason
My pen drips and my heart smiles
You help me remember
To see
To believe
One word at a time

Premium Member Poets, Do Not Give Up

Poets, do not give up
Whatever you write
Whatever you spit out
A genius will be up
To it somewhere. Someone
Will understand the tone
Of your voice, the hieroglyph
Of your thoughts, the myth
Of your vision and the dactyl of your wit
Someone will be up to it. The perennial spirit
Of your global view is astounding
Although few comprehend your writing
And the mechanical process of your brain
No need to call a surrealist surgeon
Everything is absolutely normal
Only the Poets fully comprehend
The intricacies of the supernatural
Being, who is not afraid to make a stand
Poets, do not give up
You see things from top
To bottom and from the wrong-side-up
There’s no need to bring a novel map
An updated or an archaic GPS
Many Poets fully comprehend the methodized mess.

P.S. In the memory of all Poets...

Premium Member Super Bowl Day

They're playing in the bowl tomorrow
and we are so very proud.
We Seahawk fans are loyal
and also very loud.
We'll be settled by our TV sets
before the game begins.
We'll stay for the fifth quarter
no matter which side wins.
I'm thinking of my men folks
who had cheered them through the years.
Are they watching them from Heaven
and applauding with loud cheers?

The Seahawk's franchise was formed
back in Nineteen Seventy-Six.
My husband and four brothers
would yell like lunatics
when the Seahawks added to their score
And it seemed as though they'd win.
I would look at them all yelling
and would shudder at the din.

Then when my son was older,
he joined that happy crew.
I threw in the towel and recognized
I would have to join them too.
They taught me all about first downs
and field goals and touch downs also
and many of the games intricacies
that a good fan needs to know.

My husband and my brothers
and even my loved son
have all gone on before before me
Their cheering on Earth is done.
I wish that they could be here
to see their loved team play.
Daughters and grandchildren will cheer with me
tomorrow on Super Bowl Day.

Lucky Number 13

Acute power or a mystical virtue?
Not daring to venture further
Became superstitious by token and sign,
Leaving the most positive meanings behind

Ends with a 3 that reminds me of the trinity
A belief that kept within
All good things comes in double,
You're not alone just behind 1
Together you became 13 an age in certain
Tradition when a boy became a man

Among the many numbers
People pretends you came out the worst
even saying that you are a curse
But besides all others, you came first
Ignorance do hurts,
So they put you behind as a negative sign

Thinking of you makes me enjoy
The intricacies of mental calculates
A million seconds in 13 days,
13 stripes for thirteen states
A Friday 13 in every year

Again let me be a bit humoristic
Since I'm in love with mathematics
For those who calculates well,
Come let me play with your head
Close your eyes using the power of your mind
Pick and choose which power hidden inside you
The clock strike 13 hours, the mind reminds
us that it's 1 'o' clock,
infact we're back at the starting block

Since things became a mystery we tend
Not to go beyond our senses
13 is a number that all human share
The 13 major joints in our body
13 lunar cycles in a solar year
And the moon travels 13 degrees across the sky everyday
Making things works in a mysterious way.

sporting a colorful chemise
a camera and a valise
temptations so easily tease
roaming as free as honeybees
tourists hear beckonings as pleas
and capture beauty with much ease

tiny things no bigger than peas
or vast expanse of deep blue seas
weeping willows in the breeze
ornate houses of bourgeoisies
candles lit to divinities
friendly playful bitty chickadees

lovable girl about to sneeze
a soldier's return from overseas
referees calling penalties
lovers creating memories
strange amazing intricacies
silly whimsical fantasies

many types of absurdities
two elephants on a trapeze
seven vine swinging chimpanzees
bears savoring delicacies
oddities among novelties
unavoidable catastrophes

moments of awe you want to freeze
as many of these as you please
photos are lovely memories
many worthy of galleries

Premium Member Beyond Infinity

I sit
Alone in the dark
The finite contemplating the infinite
My mind travels to the stars
Innumberal planets and moons
My World no longer feels so large
It is less than a speck of dust
I travel further
Beyond the stars
To space without end
No beginning no end
Even this void is not enough to hold my God
I look to the microscopic
He also resides in the small
We have only begun to see
The details the intricacies of him
The universes within all worlds
Molecules, atoms, electrons and DNA
His signature pointing the way
Ordered
Divine
It should increase our faith
Nothing came from time and chance
Here I am the finite
Watching the sun rise
Thankful for another day
I know through Jesus I will become infinite
Limitations will be removed
In the future he will help me understand
For now I am thankful for today

Happy Logic

Nothing has a reason to begin with
It is a party of its own with no clothes on
Formulaic intricacies grow wild in mushroom clarity
Causality set in motion by music sounds out loud
Its grasp far reaching, weightless, astounding
On a line of invisibility destiny stretches in a yawn
Violins have no strings to be attached to any song
Held fast in times illusion
Dancing is forbidden in the dark
Freedom is an extension, not exactly hair
Randomly receding in all directions
Time is unwinding on tomorrows blink
Strobe-lights are an afterthought of spinning on
History sinking fast with every drink
Coming to festivities with one shoe missing is wrong
The black one or was it a sneaker
Let me think
Music laughs at circumstances quite like this
But changes tempo as it wishes
Surrounds circles so circular and round
Directs them to their proper corners square
Orgasmic at the edges of forgetfulness in fun and laughter
Circles are not square
Not yet!
The evening is young and has no children
Light the cigarette with caution
Don't forget the curtains
For no other reason than attention to be friendly
Tip the waitress when the party ends
Logic dictates that we leave before we came
That way we can go and never come again

Free Cee She Does Dedicated To Donna Jones a Poet Supreme

SHE DOES
she does make me feel whole
she does touch the intricacies of my soul
she does, and she does it all
with every poem she answers a holy dove's call

she does thrill me body and bone
she does make me feel no longer alone
she does write words I could never duplicate
she does write words that will allow her into Heaven's gate

she does something that makes me feel real
she does write words that describe how I feel
she does scribe stanzas that shake me awake
she does put into words feelings for this poet's sake

she does know the respect I hold for a poet of her grade
she does know the lady has a soul only the universe has made
she does write words that set my spirit free
alas, she probably doesn't know what her words mean to me

My Poetic Love Affair

Thrusting his knowledge inside , his strong hands hold my hips
His thoughts enter into my essence as I kiss his full lips

I savor the sweet smell of perception all over his skin
As his prophecies penetrate my depths finding solace within

I open the secret chambers of my soul, freely allowing him to explore
Passionately he places his spiritual goods, behind my guarded doors.

I wrap myself around his wisdom, as I invite him inside
Eagerly embracing his ego and stroking his pride

Down the small of my back inspiration caresses my curves
Releasing the desires of his heart and the strength of his words

His understanding carefully maneuvers through the maze of my mind
Easily navigating the intricacies of my intellect, each and every time.

Pressing tightly against each other, inhaling his spirit from the air
And I gaze into the eyes of my Poetic Love Affair

Premium Member Life On Hold

Claim your own joy
No more waiting by the phone
Hoping for a call that often never comes
He is not the completion of you
You are a whole person

These lost hours can never be reclaimed
Stop asking questions for which you have the answers
Do not pour your love into a broken glass
He is not worty of a love that is so pure

He feeds on your soul
Time to close the buffet
Claim your own joy
Discover the intricacies of you
Realize you are lovable
Don't count his failure as your own

Your time is now
You were never meant to live your life on hold
Claim your own joy
Let your laughter explode
The one you are meant to Love will hear it
You are made for better things
You deserve so much more
Yesterday will not be tommorow

Premium Member Life's Highway

Speeding along life's highway
With the scenery flashing by
Must stop and smell the roses
There's more than meets the eye

We miss the tiny intricacies
Subtleties that mean so much
Life's delightful wee treasures
The warmth of a babies touch

A gentle breeze at daybreak
Welcoming a brand new day
Puffy white billowy clouds
Trees as they swing and sway

Life's a highway, enjoy the ride
The end comes far too soon
As you look for it's hidden meaning
You reach life's final swoon

Reflecting back over the years
Of the good times and the bad
You realize it's been a blast my friends
Thankful for the life you've had

With heartaches and some sorrows
To get through it all unscathed
Is nothing short of a miracle
In your memories you're left to bathe
