Notes About The Poem

For Ink Empress's Musings of Love contest..

So this is just a musing written in raw emotions..

Musings of Love

“You try to be faithful
And sometimes you're cruel.
You are mine. Then, you leave.
Without you, I can't cope."
Rumi

in the kingdom of love,
nothing is simple,
not even musings,
so tell me:
in your annoyance
do you still think of me
or am i just another
common cliché

in Rumi's philosophies
for cosmic connections,
must we be a
contradiction of circumstance
when our story has been sung
beyond the reach of stars,
so despite the dystopian demons,
i keep hope in the invisible
golden harp strings,
yet to compose our swansong

oh mistress of medusa
in splitting seasons,
when serpents spit venom,
your British horizon soul,
coupled with your
climate change heart,
procreate porcelain patience,
where rhythms of rage
lead to breathless silence,
but i never forget you

it can be tiresome
battling against
ebony lashes from
metaphorical daggers
when vertigo eyes
hunt for their prey
and i wonder if i
was at shooting distance
would you pull the
trigger to rip my
heart like shredding
secretive documents

but despite bonfire breaths,
my samurai spirit has
become immune to
momentary flames,
adopting a mermaid mind,
finding sanctuary in
deep waters until
the last ember dies,
as at the end of each storm,
when rainbows reappear,
i resurface upon your
ivory shores,
for what am i,
but a sea urchin and
you the empress of the sea,
so each time you are cruel,
i wait for the return of
tender gestures,
as i know it is your
veil of vulnerability

you hide from the world,
but in the intricacies of conflict,
i am still the moonlight
glowing upon your ripples,
as i know the code to
your handcrafted heart,
floating in wandering waves,
as you still ignite intimate spiritual
sparks of soothing sensuality,
so never abandon me - forever

in the imperfections of love,
in my abundance of flaws
i know you adore me
internally and externally,
for we are refuge and
safe haven for the broken,
like a masterpiece of
alliterative adjectives
glowing like gems
in topaz textures upon
mookaite mosaics

I know I'm no
Leonardo Di Caprio,
I've never been as
romantic as Romeo,
so love me for
what I am today,
I am not your past
of wasted sunsets,
so ascend with me like
tomorrow's sunrise

Dear silent one, where do i start? You are really the best (not being biased) ever that iv read so far for romance, your way with expressing is not just poetically eloquent and flawless! But also evocative and has that sincere voice, which makes the readers feel so much! I actually cried reading this: especially those opening lines, sometimes relationships arent always calm and smooth, but true love, accepts and would selflessly give and ponder in such times too whether love is intact! From the depths of your heart, and an ocean of feelings sensuous, wavering. I found humor in the beginning but then the “climate change heart, procreate porcelain patience” godsmacked! I hear the ponderous beat of her stormy heart and felt your tiring battle. Your descriptions and references whoa! Still passionate, you offer her your love, Romantic SO! Loved it!

Passionate and romantic epic poetry, Silent One. One of my favorite verses starts, "but despite bonfire breaths, my samurai spirit has become immune to momentary flames", I love the strength and commitment of this metaphor and the conclusions of the verse. So much is said of the ups and downs of love and the pursuit thereof. My kind of poetry, my friend, A FAV for my list. Good luck in the contest. Seems little a winner to me. procreate porcelain patience, where rhythms of rage lead to breathless silence… adopting a mermaid mind, finding sanctuary in deep waters…I’m sure you are better than DiCaprio and Romeo. Really it is two souls that come together! Great as always!

Dear Silent One, your poem is truly a masterpiece. It exudes beauty and elegance, captivating the reader with its turbulent yet captivating narrative akin to that of a captivating novel. The way in which you skillfully intertwine raw anguish and unwavering optimism mirrors the intricate nature of love itself. I am particularly enamored by the incorporation of the Rumi quote, which sets the tone for a love that transcends the limitations of this earthly realm.

I knew someone as a friend who was welcoming and then rejecting. I really liked being around that person as they were funny and enjoyable to be with. However, there was an endless cycle of passive aggression that never ceased. Your poem reminds me of that time in my life and how I finally decided I would avoid that person. It's a very fine line when dealing with love and emotion. Your poems always get me thinking. I would hope the situation would change but it didn't.

Hi SO, the intrinsic beauty of your poem leaves me at a loss for words. Which amazing image to highlight as they flow like water over a waterfall! Which emotional confidence to muse on? Which complex line to hold onto as a source of new "musings?" Poetically magnificent, SO. A sure winner for the contest. Blessings!

There is so much manly confidence in these raw emotions you express here, "your samurai spirit has become immune to momentary flames..." In a world where men, true to themselves, are often shied away from because of their innate need to be truly masculine, these are not "Simple Musings..." They are deep and complex, and show awareness of feminine fragility... Yet hold to a determination to not lose face, or "headship" - which many woman can be nervous about.

Maybe she's loved "too deeply" and yes, you "know the code of her handcrafted heart" which you have sensed "in intricate intimacies..." "I know you adore me" "even in the imperfections of love,, in the abundance of my flaws" "love me for what I am today, I am not your past of wasted sunsets..." This is such a deeply moving poem, resounding with reality, humility, strength, belief in hidden goodness in each other, unyielding hope. Love it! Aqua M.

Love, everyone wants to be in it. Only thing is, the further you're in, the more complex it becomes. Would you change it, though, probably not?

Immensely soulful and that's what true love looks like.. "I am not your past of wasted sunsets, so ascend with me like tomorrow's sunrise"..... What an intimate and touching plea.... and what a bright option. The lover in you is so ardently bent on winning the lady of your love. I know you speak from the depth of your heart. "as at the end of each storm, when rainbows reappear, i resurface upon your ivory shores, for what am i, but a sea urchin and you the empress of the sea", Don't leave hope .... ! Keep waiting. So powerfully articulated! Into my FAVE Silent One.

Dearest Silent One, your poem reads like a tempestuous novel! The raw pain and unyielding hope intertwine, mirroring the complexities of love itself. I'm very drawn to the Rumi quote, setting the stage for a love beyond earthly constraints. The vulnerability in questioning "am I a cliché?" and the defiant declaration "I am still the moonlight" create a captivating emotional journey. And, yes, your ending, with its imperfections linger long after reading. Powerful work! - Blessings, Daniel
