FOUNDATION
“...we achieve true wholeness
by embracing our fragility...”
Jalaja Bonheim
FOUNDATION
i had
no script
no actors
no stage
instead let me direct this life
my life
stage the words
add a subtle dramatic tone
with fragility
once the foundation is built
i'll work on emotional recall
work in the layers
does it sing
does it dance
does it make you think
does it make you feel
you can design the most beautiful building in the world
but with no structure it will not stand
for this one i start with the word
"I"
yup that’s a keeper
next go out on a limb
"Love"
it can't be all about me
so i finish
with "You"
yes you
‘what happens when you open your heart?,
your inner strength becomes an outer foundation.’

Sex is just the icing,
Isn’t the whole package,
So much more enticing.
But problems do arise
When all the baggage arrives
Into play. It is better if all is
Laid to rest but that is
The ultimate test. At times
It can be such a pest,
And cause so much stress.
It will turn into a
Whole mess for one another,
Unless they learn to
Lean on each other.
To also know the difference
Between love and just pleasure.
The body and mind
Will not know.
The heart and soul
Will surely take its toll.

You’re beautiful
You’re strong
You’re confident
You’re amazing
You’re wonderful
You’re courageous
You’re loving
You’re kind
I speak these words into existence in my life
and watch them manifest.
Because there was a time not long ago that I
didn’t believe in myself, I didn't feel worthy to
associate myself with anything good.
The deep wounds of abuse warped my image
of me.
I still have to fight every day to see and feel
beautiful.
I used to wait on others to say these things
about me
Now I say them to myself if others say them
too,
That’s just icing on the cake………………..

The twin blasts and
lip-syncing was
no insane coincidence.
The travail of incredible sinking
will never be found.
The abstract family
and myriad remixing of stem cells
may solve the puzzle of
assured suicide of the earth.
The small rapes and big assaults ?
A crazy progenitor wanted
to have a control on volcanoes
as on sea. The spewing
lava was throwing gas rich froth
to start a megarevolution.
Was it a terrible mistake of
you coming out of the mud pits ?

ICING ON THE CAKE
Mountains, valleys, rivers and trees
Flowers, sunsets, birds and bees
Sunlight, moonlight, stars and sky
Creeks and streams that gurgle by
Rainbows, waterfalls, colorful leaves
Plants, animals and the big blue seas
Butterflies, dragonflies, prairies and lakes
All add to the icing on this cake !

ice crystals form here

colors dance today

my love;
last night
while you drifted
curled within my arms
my thoughts grew
full-bloom, beneath the moon.
on white sand
we melted together
into passion's splash
like dripping candles
atop birthday cake
and i wished
you awake!

Silvery white, thick fog icing
All trees, road, can't see far
Great veil disguise for deer to roam
Reveals where spider webs are

Enticing Icing and Pricing
We were inspired by the great icing,
That had been attractive and enticing;
We wanted to buy;
Take home and try,
Until we saw what it cost and pricing.

Limerick
Inside familiar folds of my hanging apron
I encounter a blinkless miniature figurine
Glossy, posable, plastic as a Lego creation
Loyal component of kitchen enforces routine
Breakfast allures with buttery muffins toasted
Lunch- a- lot predicts sandwich towers teetering
Dinner calls for lavish legs of livestock roasted
Day which follows knows a sequence repeating
Pack away cycle of soap, soak, replace, bench polishes
Scouring for recipes, Lego lady's eyes neatly smile
Cinnamon wafting whirlwind with servitude accomplishes
Devourers' belches earn her Master Caterer title
Beneath bed, which ejects me at six am alarm
Failed slipper search produces palm sized plaster sculpture
Icing faced, eyes without memory, eternally calm
Solid base she stands on stops commotion from toppling her
Nine am sees my arrival, politely inquiring co-operation
Afternoon forgets to yawn, incessant key tapping keeps on
Harsh carpark steps echo, repell dusk's contemplation
Traffic jams tomorrow's chasms, where dreams hold reunion
Crisp gives way to crinkles, plaster sculpture refutes
Her congeniality and aptitude due to exhaustion
Chalky cheeks split with encouragements' overuse
Legs held as one are motionless to express discourse
Steam escaped open door shows mirrored me showered
Bounce of towel buffed flesh rises in delightful nonchalance
Droplets of conciousness roll a path cleansed in empowerment
Serpent tongue hair saturates time, attacks life with vehemence

One last thing, middle thing, or first thing before I go
No matter which direction, love always follows
There's no competition
It's not just tradition
It's what it's all about, it's icing on the gateau

I always shun the cake,
With too much icing,
Unless I have witnessed the bake.
I always distance myself from a cake,
That has too much frosting,
And I find it hard see the actual cake.
So, it is with me and bureaucracy,
When I see too many layers,
And little transparency.

Burlesque
The crisp coolness of Autumn inhabits my birthday.
Candy corn and pumpkins have sprung up.
The cell phone rings off the hook —
well at least while I was working.
Suitcases have been swept clean
as indelible leaves of Maple red
find their resting spots in my mind,
along with the whole Acadia forest of pine.
Fair kisses left on a business trip to Boston.
My heart is tendered as a luggage tag.
I hold on fast to the heel of forget-me-not togetherness.
My coworker plays, “Do you feel younger?”
Like no. Next year
is a tantamount birthday —
I don’t share that.
But the icing on the cake makes for a delicious life.
