Best Goat Cheese Poems

I'M Stuffed!

I wanna spread you thin,
creamy, on a bagel
toasted
fresh
hot
savor each bite
lick you off -
my fingers
the corner of my mouth…
I’ll leave a bit to make you laugh.
Save it for later
I’ll say it’s a snack
if I get hungry before I get back

I wanna sauté you in garlic
…with peppers - hot
salt..
cheese..
the flavor in oil
infuse with your leaves
over a salad.. inside a soup
tomatoes
red onions
brown rice.. a scoop
not to dilute
or over power
the taste of your skin
lightly
dusted in flour

sizzle and pop
drizzle a dop
I’d make you a doughnut
if I were a cop
or better yet
I think an éclair
cream in the middle
squeeze you right there
in a coffee cup
some on my chin
lick it off
…and squeeze you again

I wanna bake you in broth
400 degrees
wine
sauce
caper goat cheese
stuff you with seafood
potatoes
brie
serve you with scallops
fresh from the sea.

reduce you to thickened,
sauce made with cream
jiggle your gravy
poach you and steam
fry you in butter
sugar your spleen!

I’m stuffed...your love
feast for a king

Premium Member Dinner For Two

On a blustery winter night my loved one comes to dine.
The table is set for two in front of a cheerful fire and
a candle flickers in delight beside one perfect yellow rose.
I greet my love with a kiss and a glass of Napa Ridge Sauvignon
Blanc. We sit for a while and enjoy fig and Humboldt Fog
goat cheese crostini, while we sip the sweet nectar of the grape.
Soon it is time for me to serve a salad of grilled romaine with bacon and
cherry tomato vinaigrette. We enjoy our quiet conversation while
listening to a compilation disc I made of some of his favorites…
Chopin piano sonatas, Billy Joel ‘s Uptown Girl, The Phantom Of The Opera
and a few selections from an old Beetles album.. Now the entre,
Lamb Chops with a garlic and mustard crust, haricort verts in browned
butter and potatoes gratin . With our entrée we splurge on a bottle
of Screaming Eagle Zinfindel..A bit later I bring out a huckleberry tart
with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.
It was an an evening of culinary delight, made truly special by being with
the one that keeps me safely in his heart.

Goat Cheese Boat

There once was a man,
Who carved him a boat.
It was out of the cheese,
That he milked from his goat.
The first one he failed,
So he made him a note.
Never use Swiss,
Because it won’t float!

Chicago Style

Golden brown and hot to the touch
One person could never eat that much
Thick as a brick and perfectly round
A more beautiful sight may never be found

Heaven on earth from the very first bite
It's also a veritable olfactory delight
You have to eat this beast with a knife and fork
It's not like the pizza you get in New York

So many toppings, just add as you please
One ingredient not found here...goat cheese
Eat til your busting, that's part of the fun
It always helps,if you belch when your done

One thing you must do before you die
Try a Chicago deep dish pizza pie

The Goat Cheese Craving Disease

A clever work indeed,
But you must really need,
Either a doctor or a goat,
It's up to you to vote,

In this poem you come acrostic,
To shepherds as diagnostic
As a woman a tad too caustic,
Of their herd's fruit a bit bombastic

I think they see with herder's eye,
You had too much Shepherd's Pie!!

Ha! Ha!

Premium Member Nothing But Goat Cheese

Old Willy’s ice-box housed nothing but cheese.
Row after row of perfect pillars packed
with gouda cheese, bleu cheese, mascarpone cheese
and a bit of brie (though for cheddar lacked)
all sealed in air-tight capsules and aligned
in such a way that no available space
went to waste. When his health declined
and failed in 1616, his cheese faced
a litany of tests as physicians
marveled at how it seemed to resist
decay or time induced decomposition,
the results of which have since been published
and studied by goats like me who mock that cheese
while hypocritically writing poems like these.

Food and Love

Food and Love Sonnet
Today is my day off I’m not writing anything so I’m
free to think of the time I fell in love with the woman
In the cake shop, I was only twelve and a half and
often she gave me a hug and an extra cocoa macron
I had plans and knew who I was going to marry, alas
I should have kept the plans to myself and not told
mother who in turn told my aunt and soon everyone
knew my secret.
Deadly shy and embarrassed so I never got back to
the cake shop again but found one in the other part
of the town the girl there was equally sweet and
often gave a slice of fresh bread with goat cheese.
Food and love often go together...and why not both
are vital parts of life? I don’t eat much food anymore.

Premium Member I'm curious about Jesus verses

For lunch, do you know what Jesus ate
on the very day that He turned eight?
Barley bread and goat cheese,
onions, greens, and chickpeas,
and for dessert ~ a honey-dipped date.
Here's a question, just between you and me ~
did anyone ever see Jesus pee?
I know of no book where it's recorded,
but was anyone ever afforded
a peek, say, by the Sea of Galilee?

You ask me what I'd like to do
On this, my special day?
Well I'll tell you but only if you'll come with me
Just you and I, okay?

First, let's hit a bookstore
No, not one that's brand new
But one that has old worn out books
The kind with years accrued

Then let's go museuming
If that's even a word
To see all the exhibits
Their stories speak unheard

And then let's find old buildings
We'll try to get inside
And wonder who once lived there
And make up tales wide eyed

And finally hit my favorite store
To get drunken goat cheese
We'll take it home and eat it slow
Converse for hours with ease

So yes, it is my special day
And that's what I'd want to DO
But all I'd want for a present
Is to spend this day with you

What's On the Menu

And with her “Chicken Nipple Dip”
                                and crackers set to side
She checked her table once again
and smiled a smile of pride

The ‘Duck Tongue” toast and “Pig Pate’”
she thought were sure to please
And don’t forget, she’s made a batch
                            of tasty “Old Goat Cheese”

The “Possum Parfait” glaze dessert
                          no sweet tooth should resist
But don’t disturb her ‘Aspic Owl”
lest she would smack your wrist

The gelatin of ‘Bladder Fish”
                              salts her most lively stew
I’m not sure if it’s still alive
but sure it’s good for you

So when your invitations come
do save the date for sure
I’m certain you’ll not want to miss
                             this night’s “Menu Du Jour”

When Jesus stopped in for a bite,
The barkeep near fell out with fright:
“I’ve got some goat cheese,
But no fish and chips, please!
Last time, that was it for the night!”

This Mick On the Next Stool

in a pub in Ireland

So this Mick on the next stool,
who's as serious as Yeats
but looks like Wilde,
stares at me,
with eyes crossed,
sipping Guinness through the foam.
Finally he burps and says,
"I'll bet that growth is cystic.
If it were on my nose,
I'd light this match,
hold a straight pin over it,
then prick it.
Poof! There'd be
a belch of goat cheese, sure.
But what of it?
You'd need a Q-Tip,
maybe a drop of p'roxide.
But in two weeks
new skin would bloom
smoother than a baby's bum.
With your luck, Yank,
it would freckle."

Stopped in a winery.
Splurged on chilled bottle of
sparkling Moscato wine,
salted, crispy crackers,
soft goat cheese to nibble.
Shared stories, goals, plans and
splendid time with daughter.
