You dance love, and you dance joy and you dance dreams."- Gene Kelly
I am lost in an endless dream
My love and I are together
Dancing hand in hand, we're a team
Like the zephyr and a feather
Swirling and swaying to the beat
We are caught up in love's sweet trance
To the music, tapping our feet
Adrift in our fantasy dance.

Embraced in splendour of the night
We vowed that we’d twirl evermore
Waltzing the dream till morning light
Upon earth’s grandiose dance floor
Moments too precious to forget
Memories stored safely in heart
To replay in our mind cassette
Forever my cherished sweetheart.

I do not want this dream to end
To wake up and find I’m alone
But dawn breaks in to apprehend
Into the real world, I’m thrown
I await night’s darkness to sleep
To dream of my love and our dance
I am lost in fantasy deep
Hope this will last longer perchance.

Bleak since you left my heart and dreams
In your arms it felt so real
Tears cascade down my face in streams
The heartache I cannot conceal
Come back to me prince entrancing
We’ll waltz to happiness again
Dreams are for love and romancing
To a melodious refrain.

Premium Member Puddles

We splashed and dashed
We cared no jot
No inhibitions
Or adult rot

The rain was cool
The muddy puddles
No obstacles
No silent troubles

Just joyful freedom
With innocence
No hidden agenda
Or false pretence

I'm not sure when
We made the change
When childhood joy
Crept out of range

Although we've grown
Matured I'd say
In one sense drifted
Too far away..

The curious
The beautiful
These open hearts
Protect from dull

So when it rains
I want to be
The one who dances
Gleefully

In deepest puddles
Barefoot, or welly
We should all be
More like Gene Kelly

In quiet bay's embrace, where waters sigh,
I gaze at mountains 'neath the western sky.
Their stoic peaks, a timeless range,
Whisper tales of change, foretell the strange.

As thick cloud veils the once majestic view,
An atmospheric river brews anew.
The deluge nears with torrential might,
Veiling peaks in a shroud of endless night.

Dreams of Gene Kelly, dancing in the rain, light and free,
I thought to waltz within the storm with glee.
Yet, as I spread my makeshift wing,
It opened, spun, a tempest's fling.

No dance with lift, but a wild ballet,
Blown away, on hills, I found my way.
Not my dance in the rain, but rain in flight,
A twirl with wind, a spectacular sight.

The deluge unleashed, a relentless pour,
Nature's rhythm on a relentless tour.
The hills transformed, a watery stage,
A tale unfolding, a rain-soaked page.

Then, as swift as it had come to play,
The front passed over, unveiling day.
Sunlight pierced the lingering gloom,
A promise of calm after tempest's bloom.

In the aftermath, a cleansed terrain,
A story etched by the atmospheric reign.
For in the dance of rain and wind's embrace,
Nature weaves a tale of beauty and grace.

Rain - Rape, Abuse, Incest Nonsense

The sun was out this morning
But soon the R.A.I.N came and erased any ray of hope I had left
It committed theft
Of my virginity
Flooded and damaged my fertility
R.A.I.N. drops were falling on my head
My secret garden became a water bed
And growing within it
Was the clitoral swelling
That became a dwelling
For constant pain
And while Gene Kelly is singing in it
I’m crying from all the R.A.I.N.

I can’t stand these April showers
How can it bring May flowers?
But deflower me?
What have I done to deserve
Falling victim to the second nature
Of a worthless soul
I guess not realizing the devil could be so bold

When it was all said and done
All I could see was the RED blood between my thighs
That I unwillingly sacrificed
For the R.A.I.N. to stop
The ORANGE that represented my strength was slowly fading
The YELLOW became a brick road that I couldn’t ease on down
Because it was now blocked
I didn’t know how to get back to my sanity
I couldn’t see the GREEN in me that once represented my dreams
And like the BLUE in the oceans, skies and the heavens
I became distant
The INDIGO made me suddenly aware that
I could no longer trust anyone.
All my shame and sorrow
Was clad in VIOLET
Bright enough for the world to see

Feelings of hopelessness and insecurities
Were trapped inside the rainbow
The R.A.I.N. left behind
No lucky charms or pots of gold
I beg for the R.A.I.N. to stay away
But no matter how much I pray
It continues to pour on unsuspecting souls

Athletic grace and agility,
were his trademark style.
Energetic sensitivity,
That crooked little boy smile.

He commanded the stage while dancing,
setting the tempo.
Dramatic ballet choreography,
or a comedic roll.

He danced with leading ladies
and with Jerry the mouse.
He embraced the scenes with gusto,
as the villains, he would trounce.

A voice that soothed or dominated,
evoking joy or pain.
His songs would carry across the stage
or while singing in the rain.

As musicals faded from Hollywood,
his star never lost its shine.
I watch his movies every chance I get,
I smile every time.

I have shared him with my children,
watched there eyes take light.
Saw their reaction at his dancing,
I could feel their delight.

Gene Kelly will live forever,
On celluloid and discs.
No one will ever fill his shoes,
No one would dare to risk.

Serenade Me, Julius La Rosa

His striped tie has a green tint color
And his hands are dark and bulging with blood.
I can see them gripping the steering wheel like parrot talons.
I can see from all the way up here
That one of his fingers has a golden wedding ring,
And he just sits there in that Studebaker
Looking up at my apartment window,
Like I’m some freaking captive locked in a high tower,
And he’s my guard, my sentinel,
Making sure I do not escape.
“Hey you! Yeah you! I’m talking to you!
Oh? You have a problem with me seeing the blond bombshell?
The one with the face that launched a million ejaculations?
The face that burned the topless towers
Of a million American households?”
Now he has a cigarette going inside that sleek automobile.
It’s dangling from his lips
Like a big white toothpick from Scully’s.
The Los Angeles Mirror,
The front page,
Rests forlornly on the passenger seat.
I can even see the headlines from up here –
Something about an execution,
Julius and Ethel R.
Serenade me, Julius La Rosa!
Sing to me now! ‘Eh, Cumpari!’
It’s 1953 and all’s well in the world.
There shall be a tiki torch in every back yard!
“A cocktail? Here, have mine.
I’m well stocked here in my Kasbah.
Now, sweetheart, what were you going to say?”
“When I dance with you,
I feel like I’m in Paris by the Seine,
Dancing in technicolor with Gene Kelly.
You have wonderful moves and a very masculine touch,
And I can almost hear Gershwin music,
Way off in the distance.”
“By the way, my darling Norma Jeane, who taught you to dance?”
 “To be honest, my mother.
It was an emergency situation, I had a hot date, so…”
And now we are sashaying on my torn and tattered carpet,
With Perry Como crooning ‘No Other Love’ on my Hi Fi,
Over there in the dark corner.
The lights of the Big Enchilada
Glisten outside my lone window
Like a million incandescent candles
That burn with lust for us.
“Hold me closer.
I need to feel your warm blood.
I need to breathe in your luscious sweet cologne.
Mmmmmm. Kiss me.”
“I will kiss you.
I will kiss you long and I will kiss you very hard.
But first, my darling, why not some Rachmaninoff,
The second piano concerto,
Instead of Perry Como?”
“No Piggy.
Locked in your arms I’ll stay.
Waiting for you to say,
No other love have I.”

Somewhat Twisted Thoughts Concerning Precipitation

NEVER venture outdoors when it's raining cats and dogs
It rained cats and dogs during a drought and the farmers were NOT amused
It rained cats and dogs and the county WORKERS were not amused
However they were grateful because there had been recent layoffs
Due to inflation, every time it rains it rains, quarters from heaven

When Gene Kelly sang in the rain he got arrested for disturbing the peace
So Donald O’Conner had to take over and HE got arrested for public intoxication
So they asked Debbie Reynolds and she said, ‘You have GOT to be kidding... I just got my hair done’

Every time it rains, it rains pe…Ouch (THAT’S gonna bruise)
Just my luck…It rained pennies from heaven and I forgot to turn my freekin' umbrella upside down
Due to inflation in now rains quarters from heaven (Dude, you seen the price of UMBRELLAS lately?)

Sure wish it would rain on somebody ELSE’S parade for a change
Once it HAILED on my parade (The floats sustained irreparable damage and there were minor injuries)
Nobody’s gonna rain on MY pa…(Uh, God…You forgot to clear this with Mother again didn't you?)

Ode To the Rain

Rain drops pounding upon my window pane,
Oh joy! Not the foreboding sound of gloom.
The sun blotted from the sky by gray rain
bringing harmony and flowering blooms.
I hear the distant sky's waning thunder.
The catharsis of mother earth's womb shares
the joys of rebirth in the winds chorus
with the sound of wonder.
In the warmth of my home, my soul declares;
the rain has come to relieve me from stress.

Shall I take a sweet nap or lose control?
In my flannel pajamas, I delight
in quiet time alone, feeding my soul.
First, sleep with dreams, love caressed in starlight.
Hand-in-hand, a stroll under silver moon.
Awakened by a gentle kiss to spark
feelings stolen by my mundane routines.
With flower petals strewn,
moistened blooms beckon me out to the park
to skip and splash like a child in blue jeans.

Rain still pours from the sky as I reach home
for a matinee, Singin' in the Rain.
Cozy with hot tea, no more need to roam.
Warm, content feelings, I cannot contain.
Gene Kelly inspires me to leave my bed
dancing through my house with full abandon.
Music plays loudly, I'm liberated.
A gray day turns bright red.
As I dance, ducks splash outside on my lawn.
My tired body feels rejuvenated

"You dance love, and you dance joy and you dance dreams." - Gene Kelly

I am lost in an endless dream
My love and I are together
Dancing hand in hand, we're a team
Like the zephyr and a feather
Swirling and swaying to the beat
We are caught up in love's sweet trance
To the music, tapping our feet
Adrift in our fantasy dance

I am drunk with his sweet perfume
As I lay my head on his chest
We glide and float across the room
My trembling heart against his, pressed.
All around us are empty seats
And memories of happy years
And all the while his firm heartbeats,
They sound like music to my ears.

I look to see my lover’s face
And his eyes seem to glow with fire
I hold him in a tight embrace
Like that a Muse gives to her lyre.
So on we dance and time stands still
We ignore each passing hour
We are imprisoned by the thrill
Being in each other’s power.

I do not want this dream to end
To wake up and find I’m alone
But dawn breaks in to apprehend
Into the real world, I’m thrown
I await night’s darkness to sleep
To dream of my love and our dance
I am lost in fantasy deep

Ah! The Golden Years of Hollywood
And those old black and white movies
Some were cinematic disasters
But some you could call quite groovy

Even now, my heart skips a beat
When one appears on the late night screen
I choke up a bit seeing John Wayne
As he swaggers in and out of the scene

Today with its technology and trickery
We don't know if people are real
Or made up computer animation dudes
To me, it seems way too surreal

Take me back to the Spaghetti Westerns
The gangster films of Cagney and Bogart
The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello
Loved them all, that was cinematic art

The stunning sensuality of Ingrid Bergman
The glamour of a young Liz Taylor
The bombshell beauty of Marilyn Monroe
Bardot, Betty Grable and more

The newsreels, the cartoons, the travelogues
And the giant blockbusters of the time
Sure was a lot for twenty-five cents
Plus popcorn and a drink for a dime

Ah! The Golden Years of Hollywood
Great musicals like “Singing In The Rain”
“An American In Paris” with Gene Kelly
Sure wish I could go back there again

Premium Member Let's Dance

Let's dance in the rain or out in the sun.
Let's dance like Gene Kelly or like Fred Astaire.
Let's dance ourselves into oblivion.
Let's dance all decked out or in underwear!
No matter where, we'll be devil-may-care!

Let's dance like magic on top of a cloud.
Let's dance as if showing off for a crowd.
Let's dance like Footloose and kick up our feet.
Let's dance. Come on, Babe, you're going to be wowed;
slow dancing last, we'll turn WAY up the heat!
