Near My Fireplace
I lean my face near the burning fireplace
As I embrace the warmth that gives me grace
And base my thoughts upon the human race
I keep up pace in my small comfort space
And unlace evil climbing the staircase
To chase our souls that leave a loving trace.

Upon the fireplace mantle
A metal high container
Filled with white flowers
Two birthday cards lean
In the middle stands
The large family painting
A waterwheel house
On a farmer's field
Beside this painting
Two photo's found
Followed by a glass
Candle light
In front of that
Stands a small angel
Watching, keeping,guard
On top of the mantle
As we sit around the fire
reminding ourselves of our ancestors' ways,
we should also remember the Great Spirit,
which has bestowed blessings on us,
in the form of rain, rich harvest,
and beautiful land.
The Cloud Warriors are drumming in the skies,
ushering in the rhythm of rebirth and prosperity
for our descendants,
and acting to the will of the Great Spirit,
who sees all, and is never seen....
In its hearth, the reds and blues
A life of its own, for us to use
A warmth is given on cold eves
And adds romance, if one believes
No truer picture can provide
Than love near to the fireside
The heat, with embers burning bright
Serve well to make a warmer night
When the fire should die down
Two lovers heart still stay around
An Evening with Poet friends
9/13/2023
Really, sharing fully is nothing new to me.
Just want all to dive in without a bit of hesitation.
Splashing like shiny, rainbowed fish and express
The rays-of our shiny, unique individuality.
I only wish, a few of us were in a room together.
You’d read us your divine, poetic creations.
Teas, lemon, coffees, and hors dourves….
No strangers, just caring, close poet friends.
You are invited to bring, fresh, baked sensations.
I will provide plaid throws, as the Autumn winds blow.
So bring your delicacies and unique poetry..
A poetry evening, where all shall be honored!
Declared winners and stunning sensations.
While the warmth of joyful, appreciation burns!

I wonder what Mack is brewing today
All I can do is lick the pot
He builds me up higher, my embers, they-
Are smiling cause they know they're hot
I stare at the red sofa he's sitting upon
And at the cat I've burned once or twice
What can I say? The thing knows its wrong
To sit by a fire with ice
I taste a small dripping of soup from above
My flames hiss in the deepest content
With my dancing shadows, I warm as a glove
As I wait for a new log's descent
Fireplace rhythm
dazzling imagination
uplifting my soul
Overgrowths of arm-post life
Lift upward as my steam-breath
Vanishes thinly into the sky
Cool sweat drips deliberately
As the stacks grow larger
And the sawdust smells and sticks
The wagon-load will wallow obediently
As the frost bites cleanly
Through the still winter dusk
Ash white smoke curls softly
From the cut-stone chimney
Where a portrait of simplicity
Sleeps eternally in my mind
Huddled in front of the fireplace
Snow blanketing the outside world
Enjoying the smile upon her face
Another memory we will build
Snow blanketing the outside world
The atmosphere providing heat
Another memory we will build
Our honeymoon night we repeat
The atmosphere providing heat
In shadows of the crackling fire
Our honeymoon night we repeat
Never having lost our burning desire
In shadows of the crackling fire
Even after these many years
Never having lost our burning desire
Love making brings new tears
Even after these many years
Enjoying the smile upon her face
Love making brings new tears
Huddled in front of the fireplace

Fireplace
Holds many hearts
When it is cold
The warmth is refreshing

The world would be a much better place
If we all just sat in front of a world fireplace
And talked about love
Giving our hearts a shove
Wars would finally disappear without a trace

A House With a Fireplace
By Elton Camp
Sure, I have a fireplace in my den
But I’m not gonna drag wood in
From it comes some crawly bug
A fire won’t make the house snug
Up the chimney the heat will go
That is saves money just isn’t so
Besides, who wants to smell smoke
That’s an odor that makes me choke
And I’ve seen this happen before
Cinder pops out and burns the floor
It’s tiresome piling on more wood
Just so the fireplace will look good
Plus, in the colorful home magazine
Carrying out filthy ashes isn’t seen
And when I try to build the fire anew
Just to go out is what it often will do
Fireplaces belong in pioneer days
I don’t find much in them to praise
A fireplace in the living room
Does wonders sweeping away the gloom
It's mesmerizing
Spirits rising
Rest is swept away by a celestial broom
a warm home grown on your skin
of a golden glow flickering paper thin
as the red hot log emits a crack and a hiss..
our stimulated minds meet at passion's kiss
a tightening embrace of a bronze statue
melting her heart, she surrenders her virtue
the marble floor stages a horizontal pirouette
a fire dance of static, blazing silhouettes
