In Front of the Fireplace

Huddled in front of the fireplace
Snow blanketing the outside world
Enjoying the smile upon her face
Another memory we will build

Snow blanketing the outside world
The atmosphere providing heat
Another memory we will build
Our honeymoon night we repeat

The atmosphere providing heat
In shadows of the crackling fire
Our honeymoon night we repeat
Never having lost our burning desire

In shadows of the crackling fire
Even after these many years
Never having lost our burning desire
Love making brings new tears

Even after these many years
Enjoying the smile upon her face
Love making brings new tears
Huddled in front of the fireplace

Congratulations on being among the winners of the pantoum contest. This poem captured the love between two people who have long been together. I especially liked the rhythm you used -- easy and flowing, like the love between two people who have been together for a long, long time. My favorite verse was the last. All our loves should be like this. Thank you for this poem.
