                  ~

Yesterdays, never tell me where they run to
Only the callow days that breathed with you
Utter those resplendent whispers to my ear

Why did you let her go?' It hushes me, still
Each silver moment since has been an echo
Reverberating midst passion's sweet improv
Every memory is filled with an aching divine

My faculties still recall your beguiling aroma
Your flavor, even now, speaks to my senses

Soft, the moonlit eves, we swam in a dream
Open, the hearts we shared with a rare love
Unconcerned with the courses of its delirium
Lost to the realms those passions took us to
Many years have passed, but I can still hear
All our promises like petals - a life potpourri
They're faded now between the pages of life
Each one, a wilted bloom of love's memories.

Premium Member -Losses And Gains

Good old ageing inevitably involves loss
Affecting our faculties
Varied for each individual
Different losses ,different degrees

Frustrating and difficult it is
A struggle at times to say the least
Adjusting and learning to cope with
“Life’s old age beast”

Along with losses there are personal gains
We individually accrue
The greatest blessing age has gifted me
Is absolute appreciation and gratitude!

Premium Member valor's silhouette -

friendship - we have chased that apparition, endlessly,

          but it's elusive spirit - always beyond our fingers' reach.

resentment, disappointment, heads thumped in anger,

                    each of us in a role, obligatory - never had a chance ...

oh, how I pleaded, many times, just to be your friend -

          tears perishing in the stream of lost hope between us.

it is what it is, we are who we are, oil and water, thus.

                    still, you have always been my hero, there's no other,

the exemplar of character and integrity, innately kind,

          talented, brilliant, hard-working, and always altruistic,

letting others, even friends, wittingly take advantage,

                    rather than risk a slight or argument ... or alienation.

goodness and decency were the edges of your sword,

          a gallant knight, willing to lay his life for friend OR foe.

yet now my heart rends so for you, my dearest father,

                    armor rusting in the rain, sword blunted, halted steed.

and your faculties failing - that, the cruelest calamity ...

          but still, you push to stand tall for your beloved queen,

and your squire is here, true, fain to shine your armor,

                    'til the bellman of Valhalla calls ... for it's most dear.

Fear Of The Unknown

That sudden unknown, so unrevealing,
it's the tell-tale trademark of the one in question
as it sets off nerves in every-which-way,
plainly creeping aimlessly neath our epidermis.

Shock-waves traipse, recruiting ghostly minions to crawl hither,
steeping the fleshy folds with squirming eels marinade,
forever slithering downward and chilling our brittle bones,
while simultaneously causing us to gnash our pearly whites.

Until we came upon the realization,
that what had truly manifested itself,
was a self-induced fear that was so absorbing,
it had overwhelmed the mind in consuming anxiety,
losing control of our mental faculties,
proffering it free-will to buildup theoretical obsessions,
and alternate concessions.

Demonically Dispossessed

Demonically Dispossessed

...man has the ability to express great love,
and dispense great evil...

The legions of darkness descend as they beastly bewilder and offend
The serpents of Babylon attend as their ecumenical evil does extend
In a pandemonium plunge with pernicious pains and succulent sponge
With tenacious tongues they lunge and fast fade away as they expunge
~~~
In their fallacious faculties fermenting feces frolicking the wasteland
Demonic disciples preach profanities before the sanguineous sand
As they efficiently eviscerate exigently under their hellion command
For they are curious to castrate the condemned as their cries demand
~~~
Within their taunting tantalize as hearts bleed amidst the scarlet skies
Their goal the soul to compromise and for love to cripple and capsize
In a vortex venomous vile blasphemous broods of a damnation defile
For we must battle the bile as warriors of light with a sagacious smile.

Premium Member Acid Tears

The weighty hand of Death crushes the core of your being,
sending a shiver, slithering up your spine like a cold chill.
And an empathic moon silently slips away,
as darkness conceals the tears pooling in your eyes.
Your heart is numb; you feel nothing:
there is no anger, no hate, no feeling at all:
just an all-consuming emptiness,
where your heart should be.
Abandoned to your worst nightmare:
life has lost its meaning; it just is.
Death has reduced your heart to a hollowed-out
shell, that's falling apart, piece by piece.
Love receded into memory's maze
of bittersweet moments and forever dreams.
And acid tears burn your cheeks like rivers of fire;
corrosive enough to dissolve hope and tarnish your soul.
Crumbling into a fetal position, you hug your knees
and rhythmically rock back and forth;
teetering on the edge of despair.
Your soulmate died, leaving a gaping hole in your heart:
that time will never be able to fill.
Your breathing is erratic as panic wrestles for control:
but you fight back, slowly regaining your faculties.
Yet, your heart harbors pain,
and the tears spontaneously flow once again.
You can't see how you'll continue your life:
there are no more tomorrows to share, only yesterdays to recall.
And you've never felt so helpless and vulnerable:
a part of you died; now grief consumes the rest.

Premium Member Some Signs That I'M Getting Old

My beautiful hair is now turning grey -
a sign of age that I cannot deny.
But I’ll fight it until my dying day …
I have huge stocks of my titian hair dye!

My waterworks don’t behave as they should,
I laugh or sneeze and I dribble some wee.
Pelvic exercises don’t do much good -
I wear ‘Depends’ pads that no one can see!

My memory is now getting quite bad
I repeat words, I repeat words I say.
As long as I live I’ll be very glad …
until they carry my coffin away!

Failing health and faculties, are my fears
I may live to regret my twilight years!

A fictional write – I am admitting to nothing apart from dyeing my hair !!!

One Senior's Sonnet

One Senior’s Sonnet

The feelings are frozen, fetid in time,
Decisions denied to the dwindling mind;
Possibilities piling like lengths of twine;
Acceptance of aging cannot be blind.

Duties demean while trying to hold on;
Where hides the help while faculties dim?
Will compassion kindle the fire now gone?
Can joints jump for joy in arthritic limbs?

The sun is sinking in a twilight red rest.
Peace being pursued is allowed conquest.
And tasks like talisman line up in rows
In order opting one by one were chose.

The frightening fear of morning’s trembly dawn,
With prayer and persistence is dead and gone.

Premium Member Staring Into the Abyss

Staring into the abyss of crises’ appearance
I’m stricken with panic, disclosing my unbelief and ignorance…
Yet with God’s radiance, I can behold His gracious sustenance
Indeed assuring His provisions of bountiful abundance
Midst wellness of healthy satisfaction-extravagance;
Thus, I thank Him for His timely deliverance.

Staring into the abyss of insecurity’s disillusionment
I’m gripped with anxiety’s tormenting predicament…
Yet with God’s vision, I can perceive thru His enlightenment
Indeed opening my sight to His sufficing contentment
Midst His blessings for spiritual fulfillment;
Thus, I praise Him for His compassionate engagement.

Staring into the abyss of uncertain future
I’m attacked by doubt’s torture…
Yet with God’s illumination, I can see His grace-gesture
Indeed expressed by His Scripture
Midst His promises for triumphant faith’s venture;
Thus, I worship Him along holiness virtues’ posture.

Staring into the abyss of life’s grueling difficulties
I’m paralyzed, confronted along terrorism’s realities…
Yet with God’s lens, I can see His miraculous verities
Indeed highlighting His mighty goodness-certainties
Midst His power* controlling universe entities;
Thus, I trust Him with my yielded faculties.

Poems That Quote the Bible Are Not Poems But a Preach

When some write they quote the bible,
forcing on you some ancient eye fall,
but that's not a poem it's a preach,
some view they wish to teach,
they're no poet,
and they're not original,
they have nothing of their own to say,
they're not even an individual,
they think they're connected to the spiritual,
so it's their duty to also brainwash you.

There's wisdom in the bible, valuable and true,
but if you stop turning to the bible you'll find a wisdom in you,
because your god gave you the tools needed to guide you,
but when training these raw senses you face uncertainty,
and when unsure you turned to the religious community,
and with that you seek wisdom from them and not your own faculties,
so you become distant from what god gave you,
and become part of something that says do as WE do.
God gave you tools and in doing so you're blessed,
so do as YOU do, stay true, and the spirtual will shine through you.

One Little Blue-Haired Lady

I saw her today.
With her vanity blue wispy gray,
That smile that never goes away.
And she prays.

When God has forgotten to answer your prayers,
And suddenly a solution is there,
While you are standing mystified,
Did you see her today?

Frail and retired she asked God to serve,
Her faculties failing and un-scuffed shoes,
He heard her desire to be used,
Answering with a vision to pray.

So should you see her pass your way,
Or cross your mind most fleetingly,
Suddenly finding you know just what to do,
A little blue-haired lady prayed for you.

DREAM VISITOR

DREAM VISITOR
Welcome intruder of my private world
visiting me at the twilight of my sleep
finishing with me into the deep slumber.

Satisfying me into completeness
dream visitor, you have come again
to ravish me and to make me shy.

I see your shadow, I feel your presence
about me, you live inside me, lay atop of
my nudity, arousing sensuous stimuli,
causing spontaneous imploding- and tremors.!

My senses go haywire, starting a-fire, I am now lit.
You then let me shoulder in all that you have
induced. I lie there, desire-ring nothing-
squirming in tranquility.

Upon awakening I am shy, As I appear
to you in reality, somehow you have to know.
My brain has scattered as I fold-up like a
Chinese-fan before your very eyes

I run away when I see you in the day.
Afraid that my eyes may reveal, or betray me;
You must know, you were there in spirit and it seems.
In daylight you mock me.

When your spirit visits my dreams, it is impossible
that we are not both inclined, to have arrive at this apex
same time; Are you my coitus ghost?
fulfilling me to the utmost.?

In reality, when I see you, I lose all my of my faculties.
I avoid you in the daytime too; Upon laying eyes on you.
I forget what I came to say or do. If I look at you;
Immediately sensations rush through.

The fact of the matter is, like a school-girl I am flattered
At the twilight of my sleep you enter. As you ignite and
quell fires in me, ecstatically overwhelmed- You finish me.
leaving me conquered by your rapture' visitor.

O' intruder of my slumber- O' Dream visitor of mine.
I gain control by staying busy all the day;
wanting to exhaust myself - Thus the only way to
prevent your visit, I must, and keep you beyond
the barriers of my deep slumber.

Tonight, I deeply sleep, becoming totally
in-cognizant; You will need consent.
I must not lose control of my dreams.
I cannot lose control of my dreams to
this ravenous intruder who satisfies me beyond reality.!

Tonight, your spirit will not demand my flesh-
I wild hide behind the sound wall of exhaustion.
Even though I have never known such contentment,
O’ prowess of Morpheus. O' dream intruder-
the morning after is too confounding!
