Premium Member The Daughter of the North Wind Sings In Soprano

In riming realms
of crystal contemplations -
frozen water-vapor meditations
and chilled flutes
filled with zodiacal-light musings
of ancient cosmic dust
dancing in the arms of Sol..

windswept operatic reveries
rise and fall
as her stirring soprano
tickled by the chanting of icicle chimes
gathers momentum
in strengthening sprays
of frosted musical notes adrift in broken chords

she bestrides
a clouded steed colored mother-of-pearl
flowing with fury
within which beats a blustery heart
surging at jet stream speeds
on the clattering beat of hailstorm hooves
from streamer-skies of the northern dancers

they fly aloft
on arctic gales of lyrical laughter
igniting the imagination
of her freezing fire
burning now with a blistering whip
and a frostbite nip
that sinks its tingling teeth deep

sailing
a supernatural stage
amplifying—
her aerated soprano soars
in polar vortex arias
as an avalanche of glazed trinkets
—descendants of her fertile femininity
skydive
in shivering sixfold symmetry
falling
in fierce flights of fancy
as she cyclones on consecrated currents
with wild abandon
escalating
in twirling trills
of glass beaded squalls
swirling her iced eiderdown skirts aflare
baring tempest thighs
storming with a Siberian sting!

..and as her electric eyes spark
luminous with lightning
she buries you in a blizzard
of opalescent mistletoe berries
and wanton whims.

So close to death in Winter's cold embrace
Within a frozen dream I lie below
A pristine eiderdown of fallen snow
Where ice has formed in patterns of white lace
That hold me now suspended in this place
Until again I hear the water flow
When dawn is broken by a Rooster's crow
As your warm breath is felt upon my face

When you dear Spring arrive on Angel's wings
And melt this spell that Winter has on me
Than I, your Mother Earth, will rise again
Revitalized by all the love you bring
To bloom in all the glory I can be
A sea of blossoms drenched in heaven's rain

Premium Member Autumn Meadow

Dogwood leaves in shades of rust and Merlot
quiver in the first glow of morning light
A squirrel dances with it’s own shadow
under a veil of Oak leaves in mid flight
Trees dance with the magic of a Twelfth Night
Crisp air fills with sounds of Autumn birdsong
blue sky and stillness sunlit days prolong
Suddenly leaves are whirling, raining down
an orange afternoon sings a torch song
Still meadow rests in rustic eiderdown.

Sensual Fantasy

When the rain pours I think of sex
Under the duvet
Getting wet
Starting as a whisper
Say things to make me weak
Imagine your breath caressing my neck
From the erotic words you speak
Thunderous banging
Outside the storm begins
Inside my head imagination springs
Thoughts of hungry kisses
Hard and fast, passion ignites
Tongues like serpents find their way
Sliding over our bodies delights
Feelings of indulgence, lets rip
Skin upon skin, mmmm
Going deeper entering in
Ever tighter sensual grip
Pulling closer then pushing away
Harder and harder
The pleasure will pay
Moans of rapture, loves crescendo
Incredible to resist
Just let go
Intense desire
Juices flow
Taken to the point of no return
Yielded to the craving
Burning, ecstasy, carnal yearn
Gasping for air,
In the heady sensual scent
Collapse in lustful secretions
All energy's spent
The rain is slowing down
Reality or fantasy
My head under the eiderdown.

Premium Member Ivory Flakes

Pearlescent specks were sprinkles in a sky
that would have been dark but for the white
of those ivory flakes I saw
twirling so tranquilly down.
Swirls of serenity  -
those pearls of the night
filled me sweetly
with delight
before
bed.
When
I woke,
I looked out
my window to
see what night had brought.
While I had been buried
in dreams gone unremembered,
dull barren land of December
lay enfolded pristinely beneath
a beautiful argent eiderdown quilt.

Awaking from Stupor 1-16-24

It's not desire per say but the clinging
That stifles soul and stops heart from singing
Enlivening silence sets our souls free
Vibrant in the now, joyful and carefree.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Awaking from Stupor
Winter haze beats upon the door,
Drunken dreams cling to bitter cherries of midnight,
Before night sashays into white flurries of dawn
When dull eyes wrestle out of binding yesterdays,
 And pink-purple pussywillow hallucinations,
Provoked
Awakened to dream
Throwing off phantoms of eiderdown illusions,
Dawning redeemed from the clutch of midnight shrouds,
Nascent emerges sipping sweet soul sunrises
Coaxed from aromas of grace,
From holographic hollow mazes,
While pale sleepwalking staggers into real
Returning with a rosy heartbeat flush
To leave in shadows lethargy of ragged pastels
Numb shades to retreat like useless ghosts
And cower in new auroras of primed breathless light,
Neon insights flash electric incentive,
 Sparks ignite fertile tinder stored in silence,
Sentient eyes step into the womb reserved
 For every new second purified
  In percolation of harmonic animas –
Conscious and unconscious
 Awake emergent -
Bliss consummated!
Halcyon – 10-6-23
Halcyon
Across the still and placid lake
Halcyon drifts
 In misty cloaks of tranquility
   Stitched with twilight patches of contentment,
Bits of unbound moonlight
Bow
      In courtly minuets
           On adagio waves
Then lightly skim the face of the shore
 With twilight fragments
   Of fading mauve
As velvet vespers of soft chimes
Calm the ghostly wraiths of torrid afternoons
           With dusky balms,
To slowly stumble into mantles of lavender’s eiderdown
  Wrapped in shawls of gently rocking barcaroles
As doves and nightingales
 	Sing remnants of dawn and dusk
                 Into lyric seams of rounded swells
Capturing serenity in the cloth of fading light
 Shedding calm shadows on untroubled waters.
Deciduous
Artic flares beat upon my dark cocoon
I come in silence to hide from the dark
To bind my wounds with sunlit afternoons
Wrapping my pain with loneliness, so stark,
In isolation like a sinful moon
Spinning silken petals, a newborn ark
Whiplashed by regret’s compulsive rune
And bear the weight of fear - forever marked.
From a single thread my world hangs upside down,
A maze of anguish, labyrinth of tears,
Fluttering in restless desolation,
When a song of grace like softest eiderdown
Peels away each petal from nascent spheres
To fall away from a new creation.
Sun Dance
My husband and I were newly wed and cash poor. It was Easter weekend and the weather unusually fine for the time of year. Both loving the outdoors, we decided to cycle, circumnavigating our county over three nights. We traversed hill and dale, intoxicated by the beauty of the landscape. But late on the Saturday evening, just as Joseph and Mary had found on Christmas eve, every lodging was booked out for the festival. Locals eventually directed us to the abode of two elderly sisters, long retired from running a boarding house. As darkness was falling, they took us in. So weary was I, the bed felt as soft as eiderdown. A blessed sleep descended immediately. Before retiring, the sisters mentioned they would both be up at dawn, as always on Easter Sunday, to watch the sun dance with joy to see Our Lord rise again.
rising with the sun
   those wishing to see it dance
         on easter morn
Limerick : Once Hillbilly Bumpkin came to town
Once Hillbilly Bumpkin came to town
Citizens mocked this no-make-up clown
She hitched ride on red bus
To Piqued-Silly-Circus
And there let drop (her) feathered eiderdown.
Confidence
Confidence
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire
A waste of wonder time
In camouflage
Will wear you down.
No pace , less value
It does not comfort you
Like a warm eiderdown.
Time waste
You drown standing.
Rapid roots grow
In your boots.
In a worthless place
Where it is only space
Here .. there .. everywhere.
You are at sea
Confused and smoked
And can't swim.
You scratch a leaf
And puff in an ashtray
And call it achieve?
Scared you want
The phone to ring
Your ambitions are
Now detained.
No confidence
And the lack
Will break you down.
A rattlesnake calls
And say
Time for change !
The decoy
Means no blessing
It's repulsion ..
The snake
Will try grace
And waste your ear space.
Then slither back
To it's cave
After burying you under
Once upon
In womb time
You wore the crown.
With faith and confidence
A bountiful reminder
You all you have.
It is you have.
Confidence..
Now try
There is still flesh
On your bone
It's up to you.
It is on you
It's all about you.
The Burial, Translation of Paul Verlaine’s sonnet : L’Enterrement
I know nothing as gay as a burial !
The grave-digger who sings with his pickaxe in bright thrill
The church bells from afar reverberating with their svelte trille
The priest in a white surplice whose joyous prayers hardly in denial
The chorus boy with his voice fresh as a girl’s,
And when at the bottom of the hole, all warm and snug,
The coffin nestles in with the tumbling in soft tug
Of earth making the corpse’s eiderdown, the lucky devil’s
All this looks to me quite charming forsooth !
And then, all those, stuffed plump in tail coats’ sheath,
Mourners whose noses redden while receiving tips
And then, the proper concise speeches stuffed with advice rare
And then, with bulging hearts and glorious foreheads glistening
	Hail ! The sparkling heirs !
Premium Member My Bonnie Wee Babe
My bonnie wee babe hush hush now your cries
For darkness has come and cool is the night
White stars of heaven shine bright in the skies
And moonbeams glow soft with pure golden light
A butterfly kiss on your sleepy eyes
To sooth from your face that tight little frown
Will wash away tears and calm melting sighs
So snuggle up close neath soft eiderdown.
Fat little sparrows are warm in their nest
And fluffy young ducks hide under soft wings
The kitten’s curled up on old Papa’s chest
And off in the wood a lone songbird sings
Asleep is the sun in the western seas
Tomorrow she’ll rise and shine through the trees
I Unchained My Heart
Rainy days gone and summer too
Since long my heart was kept
In chain on eiderdown bed
Feared of getting wet or
sunburn.
I let it fly now.
Like a parrot uncaged
I eject my heart.
This autumn,I unchained my
heart.
Embellished with the colors of
Blue sky and white clouds ;
Embossed with the petals of
Sunflowers and Marigolds ;
Painted with the colors of Green
leaves,
Like an Elf, my heart,
I let it fly now. I free my heart.
This autumn,I unchained my
heart.
Fly with the fluffy clouds
Like a moon, smile gailey.
Suffocated you were
Freely now roam the valley,
Foreshadowing tomorrow’s
uncertainties,
Warning of tomorrow’s
complexities
And bring forth to me
The stories of far-off folks,
The melodies of joys and griefs,
And tell this autumn
To stay for a while
To walk with me
For some unknown mile.
This autumn,
I unchained my chained heart.
For till another season.
I unchained my heart.
Bush(It)!
This one goes out to you, Mr. President
This one goes out to you, and your wonderful regime of terror spread
enthusiastically around the world. Policing the entire planet is a tough job,
Mistah
President,
and there is no doubt in my mind that you enjoy your job and the
rewards of virtue you receive after killing millions of innocent civilians.  Bursting
with honor at the tax breaks to the top
 2%
 of the richest and plunging the poverty
stricken into darkness. Oh, the integrity of looking the other way while your friends
eradicate the true meaning of Global Warming.
 It must be hard on the conscience to profiteer off your nation, Mr. President, you
have such an
admirable, strong resolve.
I especially enjoy your philosophy of treating your administration like a blanket.
Soothing the world to a vegetable like drone, oblivious to the surroundings. Like
an eiderdown quilt, don’t forget to tuck in the corners, for fear that Israel might
catch a cold. Singing Saddam lullabies and then smothering Iraqi babies in their
sleep.
Like a petroleum induced  reverie, you spill
 America’s blood for oil, dousing the infidels.
Slicing freedom of speech to slivers and hiding the dirty laundry. Fighting
off hate with more hate and thus utterly eliminating any source of salvation to our
state and situation.  What a wonderful world you have created. And for your hard
work and determination to drive America to it’s knees, I dedicate this one to you.
To you and your determination to infiltrate America's existance with blunders,
corruption, and deceit.
To you and your serial betrayals of the people hand in hand with credit card, drug,
banking, and energy industries.
To you and your cynical manipulation of all that is American, to your lacking
administration, to you and your Big Companies.
This one, goes out to you, Mr. President.
God Bless America.
