Premium Member Better Days

The sun will break again for you, my friend
From out of darkness into light, you’ll tread
Your grief, it will subside and may soon end
And I’ll be with you on the road ahead

Recovery’s road goes both up and down
These months without your mate have left you frail
But cast away the tears; you will not drown
It’s time that you remove your mourning veil

Look up to see the friends who stand by you
We know your loss, but struggle to express
And still, we’re standing by till you pull through
So when grief calls, don’t fret or acquiesce

You will not have to make this trip alone
A new start waits till past this grief you’ve grown

Your Better End

YOUR BETTER END

To be
To stare
To contemplate
To risk
To dare
Once and again
To trust
To leap
A Jump of faith
To fall
To land
No one can say
To forgive
To forget
Or try again
To breathe
To love
Feel whole and place
The fears
The doubts
To rest and then
To grow
To become
Your better end

Dipping toes
feel the softness
The warm breeze of the summer joys tempts me
Crystallized sand like feathers on the toes
Gold in my eyes
Breathe taking
and pure

No Better Feeling

~

Cool autumn nights
and warm sweater wishes
Sunset desires
in apricot kisses

November eyes
as sapphires glisten
Echoes of love,
melodic we listen

Shadowy bliss,
neath maple trees swaying
Soft fallen leaves
together we’re laying

Shooting star dreams,
moonlight revealing
You in my arms
there’s no better feeling

~

Better Days

Better days
Is all good
To hope for
 The better days
But is there
Actually better days
Without making today
The best

Oh better days
Can't be without
The best of today

Better days
Too many knees on the
Ground
Too many heads kissing
The floor
Too many hands
with ten fingers
Together straight up
Like a triangle
In deferent pulpits
Deferent temples
All to one just
Praying and hoping
To god
For only the
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be without
The best of today

Better days
Too many questions
I ask myself
Too many places I
Go
Like I see life's
As they live in darkness
While they keep
Hoping for the
 Better Days
Some believe
The better days only
Exist After life
With their religion
While a kind
Like me live
the better days
Now with love

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Better days
What make a day
Better than another
How can we hope
For tomorrow
While we waste today
Away with our ignorance
Oh live every day with
Love and you will
Always have the best of
The day
With love
each day is better and
Better
Here you will always have
A
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Better days
Love yourself
As you love another
Love what you do
Do what you love
Believe in yourself
For you and your image
Is god
Their is no god but you
And all around you
Love nature respect
Humanity
Live not with greed
For your soul not
To be lost to vanity
On and on
Above all
Love life for
Life is love
Love is life
As you live with
This principles
You always live
Now as each
New day comes a
Better days

Oh better days
Can't be with out
The best of today

Premium Member Our World Changing, Not For the Better - Potd

It's not hard to see or tell this world of ours
Isn't the same as it used to be. Granted, it has
Never been perfect, but I've seen better days
I've become numb to a cavalcade of bad news
That saturate the television, social media
The radio, the newspapers.

I see our world changing with my own eyes
Every day, and not for the better. Sometimes I feel
As if I'm dreaming, but it's not a dream. It's reality
It's like I went to sleep one fine day, and woke up
To a world gone mad. A world, like crumbs
Falling off bread being sliced

What happened to the state of civility? What happened
To the nature of our social fabric? What is happening
To our country?

I'm so sick of Liar-In-Chief Donald Trump spewing
Hundreds of lies every day, further breaking
His unbreakable record of falsehoods. But why stop there?
Since his presidency, racism, xenophobia
Fear-mongering, corruption, foreign and domestic
Terrorism all surged exponentially

Under his watch, police brutality is at an all-time high
What is the world coming to when our "President"
Sides with foreign cold-blooded dictators
Over America's intelligence agencies?
What is wrong with that picture? This nation, this world
We're living in just isn't the same as it used to be

More and more African-Americans are ending up
Dead at the hands of trigger-happy police officers
More and more celebrities are falling from grace
Many emerging as sexual predators since
The inception of the "MeToo Movement"
Oh, and let's not forget about the Catholic priests!

The never-ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
Continue to claim the lives of American soldiers
Needlessly. When will our heroes finally come home?
What happened to the political climate?
It has grown so toxic. Washington politicians
Are failing to do the job the American people
Elected them to do.

The GOP has become the party of Trump
A so-called leader who stays up all night
Tweeting more nonsensical lies, who continually fan
The flames of division, continually assault
Freedom of the press, calling a legitimate investigation
Of Russia's meddling in America's election process
A "Hoax" and "Witch Hunt." But we all know better, don't we?

I wish I could go back to sleep and wake up
To the way the world used to be...

Premium Member Fake Me Is Better Than Real Me

It’s odd how we all have a persona,
An image we’d like others to see.
My emotional clothing, my charm and charisma,
It’s nice but it’s not really me.

The real me, my hinterland, the me of me, the “who” that I am,
Isn’t defined by any professions.
I’m not defined by my job, nor my house, nor my clothes.
I’m not defined by any possessions.

Possessions show that I’m cool, calm, I’m collected.
Always seeking a classy sort of style,
But on the inside the thoughts in my head go crazy,
Like an untamed deranged juvenile.

Always overthinking random stuff of conversations I’ve had.
Had years ago with my peers.
Thinking the best, then contemplating the worst,
Battering myself with debilitating fears.

I hide these fears behind fake actions, fake clothes,
Fake talk and a fake phrase.
Convinced that a fake me is better than me,
For now and the rest of always.

Premium Member Rarely Met a Better Man

We communicate without language,
Gestures,symbols,motions of a hand.
He understands my language.
I struggle with his.
But somehow we make it work.
We've lived together 14 years now,
Never thought to make it legal.
Our love could not be
More committed with a license .
He likes his hair long,
I prefer him less tousled
Though he does look appealing
When the hair fall in his eyes.

To find a partner like him is rare,
Although he has wandered on brief occasions.
I close the door behind him, but never turn the lock.
He always manages to find his way home,
With downtrodden posture and liquid eyes.
I allow him to share my bed again,
After he grovels at my feet.
My heart has grown soft for him over time.
I overlook his laziness and graying hair.
Smitten by his warm body and childlike ways.
Oh Theo, life at times is so unfair.
Though only a dog, I've rarely met a better man.

The Evening Could Not Be Better

I fork my medium rare steak
And put it into my mouth
Everything is settled and nice
The evening could not be better
My husband insists I say the prayer
After all, he hasn’t the tongue to speak
I whisper, “God was never there”
And I listen for the slightest shriek
But like God, they are all silent
In unison of emptiness
The little ones eat so little these days, dear
With their silly ipods and cellphones
Daddy will agree in drones
They’re useless little pigs…
All of my children are so quiet
So well behaved—SILENT

You are so well behaved tonight…
I eat them all raw and stare
Daddy always wanted me to say the prayer
But without you…without you there
The evening could not be better
You useless Pig…

Premium Member Better Than This

let me absorb the teasing sensation of your incredible warmth
you lure me in so easily with your temptation,
and hold me captive, within your inspiring dedication
. . it is so hard to resist you . .
and i dare not even try
to end our sweet rendezvous
of such titillating magic
 -- because nothing is --
better than
this

PRAY THAT SOON WILL COME BETTER DAYS

Soldiers on patrol-
drones on radio control…
They gain ground…as walls come crumbling down

Fire streaks through the night-
embers burn in daylight…
They all lose their minds… watching innocents die

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done,
and the sand’s blown away
(You’ve got to) pray ...
there will soon come better days

See the mothers weep-
their dead strewn on the street
They mourn so forlorn, the day they were born

The tears not only flow-
but, they just grow and grow
Where hope’s an absurd word that is rarely heard

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for!
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done…
and the sand’s blown away…
(You’ve got to) pray ...
there will soon come better days

Running through their veins,
ecstasy and cocaine,
Thugs are so smug, selling them their drugs

The mirror speaks so clear-
the enemy’s still here
Survivals chance is slim, as he looks back at him

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for!
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done…
and the sand’s blown away…

(You’ve got to) pray...
there will soon come better days
(You’ve got to) pray...
there will soon come better days

Dr Ram - For the Better Than Gold Contest

He says the nicest, kindest things
And doesn’t know the joy he brings;
A friend to all, the young and old:
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold.

I hope this doesn’t make him blush,
To hear his fellow poets gush;
A comp on him is rather bold:
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold.

His comments brighten any day -
As with you all, I have to say -
When they made you they broke the mould:
All your words are better than gold.

Premium Member There Is No Better Time Than Now

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Live your life every day to the best of your knowledge
and remember to climb the ladder of reason,
without leaving behind intuition or emotion.

Make smart choices that align with your values and goals
and don't be afraid to take a detour
when obstacles stand in your way

When you have a dream grab it with both hands
don't wait until its too late,
Its never to late to be what you should have been

Live your life with no regrets,
and always do your very best
know there is no better time to start
than now !

Premium Member Is Your Today, Better Than Yesterday?

#2 Rumi Quote:
If you are irritated by every rub,
How will your mirror be polished?
________________________________________

Be not perturbed when life presents hurdles,
Nothing worthwhile comes sans struggle;
Do not tag every challenge unjust or unfair,
Blemish on your mirror, not a reason to despair.

Read not a rub, always, as a rub of critique,
If it’s uninformed, there isn’t much to heed;
Stay the course, amity speaks for your deeds,
Judge not harshly when repentance pleads.

Endeavor mindfully, to learn from mistakes,
Sow in every failure, seeds of sweet success,
Find your happiness on other side of regrets,
Be not irritated by life’s every give-and-take.

Reject ego and pride; introspect, reflect,
Mend your ways, adapt to realms of change,
Look in the mirror, measure your progress:
Is your today, better than your yesterday?

A Better Place

"A Better Place"

il reste un trou où la
vie a été ressentie;

où êtes-vous allé -
pour suivre vos rêves?

Un meilleur endroit
sans aucun doute.

l'amour.

toujours l'amour -
c'est tout ce qui compte, ici et pour toujours.

l'amour.
