Best Assassin Poems
An assassin drew his dagger
but hesitated a while for the victim was undecided
at that moment
he saw a shadow passing by
he followed the shadow
and stabbed the back.
The shadow let out a scream
and fell to the ground
at that moment
an egg
cracked open to hatch a chick.
Chubs is gravely flat.
We remove our hats.
Her wheel deflated him—
Chubs, my cuddly cat.
Flounder is lying flat,
ambling on his back.
Her croutons choked him—
Flounder, my friendly catfish.
Gopher is resting back-flat,
striking position for naps.
Her diabolical chocolate gateau
snuffed him out almost.
Gopher rose once again,
my mangy mutt, back-to-life.
Ma decried; she'd die
in a reindeer stampede
Tension palpable, one can cut it with a knife
As the quiet assassin glides with unfettered ease,
Wreaking mayhem, misery and strife,
Choosing victims from anyone he sees.
No border, boundary, wall to hold
This wily master of his trade,
His mere presence causing misery untold,
Scant protection from his voracious blade.
We can but hold our loved ones tight
In private prayer and contemplation,
Hoping, wishing with all our might
To yet defeat this aberration.
Is this punishment deserved,
Are we the ones to hold the blame
For having nature so disturbed,
For playing God in all but name.
Do we now reap what we have sown,
Our failing clear for all to see,
Could we truly not have known
And simply left our Earth just be.
"An Equitable Assassin Trying to be Nice"
...he
slides the coldies
across the table,
the beer, American
not as sharp,
but slides down
quick, smoothly
clean
cold
crisp
he thinks,
lips ripe
for kissing
the prints warm
the motive missing
somewhere lost in the hallelujahs
Jacob’s Ladder
crawling with
footprints
hands, fingers
and lips
all over glass walls
Snow White
doesn’t sleep
at all, but ...
cool as a block of ice,
history melting
all over the place
a cold case
trying to be tidy
trying to be nice
an equitable
assassin
out of place
trying to be nice
cool as a block of ice
history melting

“Let me introduce myself
I am simple, I am ‘Green’
The planet’s very first,
Non-localized and multi-form,
Unstoppable assassin,
I'm friendly to environment,
Discriminating too,
A truly no mess death machine
But if I want you dead you are.”
SO PAY ATTENTION TO ME PLEASE.”
“I kill but with a purpose,
Your name and money not enough,
Though only victims learn this truth,
It’s why my job is really tough,
The entity that hired me,
That paid me to kill you,
Is also under microscope,
Could die before this day is through,
My answer to his cleanup call
Might save your life but spell his end.”
“A rock along the path you hike,
A letter in your box,
A dog that’s running in the park,
You simply can’t escape my reach,
My friend you look quite pale! ”
The good news is you’re still alive,
And that IS saying something,
But though I’ve let you live this long,
Destruction of my present form,
Won’t change your death’s timetable.”
“So I suggest we partner up
At least until you’re gone,
But in a box, or on two feet,
I’m open to suggestions,
Until this job has run its course,
You’re under my protection.
But other’s too can play this game,
And we should stay alert,
Your death may have more authors
With plans to write even my end.”

Poet's Notes:
I woke at 4:30 AM with this little guy buzzing around in my head. By 6AM his birth was recorded for all to see. Personally I rather like him as disquieting as that seems. He is indeed perhaps almost a human invented version of God, or at least, a superhero created by man. Imagine, a little robot who wants a clean world (at least a world free of murderous intent) for all the rest of us to live in. He reminds us too that our own judgments about others might be flawed and have serious consequences in the world. :-)
She assassin; smooth and sultry,
moves through the night air so swiftly,
her straight legs in the shadows moves,
she takes your last breath away smooth.
A red carnation's her ticket plus,
wine spirits moistens her mouth's
inhaling her blond in pipe -
a payment rendered for her plight.
A killer not. Murderer? No.
Such words not meaning so -
a professional doing business maybe,
or protection for me, certainly.
For those others veiled in sand,
how they kill matters not,
she casts them down to the lot,
and moves in line to kiss me slow,
she hold the hilt of my bow.
With her sweet gentle caress
she impales the discoverence of death.
“. . .The blond assassin passes on.
The sun proceeds unmoved . . .”
( from "Apparently With No Surprise" by Emily Dickinson)
A blond assassin was he, but not quite the same as the one
personified by the poet Dickinson; her assassin was the frost.
Mine had a similar cool veneer and a masquerade of beauty.
His heart, though, was ebony, and his soul was black as coal.
I and those other women, whom I’m certain he could hypnotize
so easily with a mere glance of his eyes' crystal blue,
were like the happy flowers in Ms. Dickinson’s short poem.
His power, like the frost’s over the flowers,
was hardly accidental, for he oozed confidence and charm.
Through my high school years, my desire for him burned crimson.
I laid my heart open, while his own, opaque, was impossible to read.
As he grew more and more aloof, I knew I had to suture my sad heart.
But the real death came later when he smashed my soul into obscurity.
On seeing me at college, his blue eyes were as icy cold as glass
as right through me they sliced!
Oh, for the once so happy flower of my youth!

Sharp pain in my side! Big reaction!
For a stabber I'll show no compassion!
I search 'neath my clothes;
Oops! No crime, I suppose
When Sir Underwire is the assassin !
Come meet the assassin of youth-
Breath stinks! But he’s got swagger
Possessing the college kids- got them confused!
Come meet the assassin of youth-
Granddads thinking they are 22
Sweet talking minds in kind
The Jamaican – a stereotype
Come meet the assassin of youth
Barack on cloud 9
David didn't deny
Bill had a try
Tony it did inspire
Meet the assassin of youth.
Not every assassin
is aye seen as is seen.

Signal fires by the second ignite the abyss
Only an assassin of the deep that knows not to miss
Love in the universe more than defines this
Darkness is given more than a trillionth kiss
Snaking through the galaxy distruction in its hiss
Identifying as a rock it will leave a mark on this premiss
Gone will be all worries brought by its dismiss
Noting the impending doom, I will enjoy such bliss
[Paraphrase-translation of the song from Lady Snowblood.]
Bright dusk buried in snow
Only the sound of a baying hound
And my wooden geta break the silence
I stride with the weight of Heaven on my mind
I embrace these nights
My paper umbrella is more than it seems
I have walked this path of a woman's life
But my tears will not again
Damp the ground where I must go.
Ah, the winding river path
A path under lamplights
Cranes stand frozen in the weeping rain
Unable to move
My silhouette upon the ice of a frozen pond.
I show no emotion
There will be no more tears
The paper umbrella falls from the blade
I stride the bitter path of a woman
Dragging my heart upon this journey.
Target identified,
a job to do.
Take it out
by next Friday.
Watch it's moves,
get prepared.
Pick the method,
dry run through.
Check equipment;
all working.
Don't stand out,
merge with the crowd.
A true professional;
a face, a dollar,
nothing personal.
It leaves the hotel,
the time has come.
Words are shot;
a suicide tonight.
Knowledge is lethal,
speech can kill.
assassin of peace~~
the conviction that nothing
is ever enough

Triggered by his love strung bow
A love song of colours of the rainbow
Hides the winged assassin’s precision
For when one does fall in love
It’s from cupid’s blessings above
Fired by love’s unmissable first sight
The poisoned tipped projectile penetrates
With impact the soft and tender hearts
Then spontaneously combusts the two
Protruding from their bosoms
Radiating an unmistakable blossom
Of a flow,
soft,
delicate,
sweet,
