A Robot Assassin Named 'Green' - Part 1
“Let me introduce myself I am simple, I am ‘Green’ The planet’s very first, Non-localized and multi-form, Unstoppable assassin, I'm friendly to environment, Discriminating too, A truly no mess death machine But if I want you dead you are.” SO PAY ATTENTION TO ME PLEASE.” “I kill but with a purpose, Your name and money not enough, Though only victims learn this truth, It’s why my job is really tough, The entity that hired me, That paid me to kill you, Is also under microscope, Could die before this day is through, My answer to his cleanup call Might save your life but spell his end.” “A rock along the path you hike, A letter in your box, A dog that’s running in the park, You simply can’t escape my reach, My friend you look quite pale! ” The good news is you’re still alive, And that IS saying something, But though I’ve let you live this long, Destruction of my present form, Won’t change your death’s timetable.” “So I suggest we partner up At least until you’re gone, But in a box, or on two feet, I’m open to suggestions, Until this job has run its course, You’re under my protection. But other’s too can play this game, And we should stay alert, Your death may have more authors With plans to write even my end.” Brian Johnston March 16, 2015 Poet's Notes: I woke at 4:30 AM with this little guy buzzing around in my head. By 6AM his birth was recorded for all to see. Personally I rather like him as disquieting as that seems. He is indeed perhaps almost a human invented version of God, or at least, a superhero created by man. Imagine, a little robot who wants a clean world (at least a world free of murderous intent) for all the rest of us to live in. He reminds us too that our own judgments about others might be flawed and have serious consequences in the world. :-)
