Best Air Condition Poems
Everyone in the soup chant my name, because I'm bringing another poetic attack.
Ryan, you've had your 5 minutes of fame, now I'm breaking your poetic back!
So you need to be realistic, read your slam, then read mine.
I'm what people call "futuristic," because I'm a poetic Einstein!
I told you in a soup mail, when it comes to slamming, there's no competition!
P.D. has you under her spell, like she's programming an air=condition!
See I know why you stepped to the plate, you were looking for some recognition.
So your poetry I'll gladly annihilate, with your mother P.D.'s permission.
Why bother to even retaliate after my slam's left you in such a condition?
With your poetry you can't intimidate, because you haven't enough ammunition!
I hate a poet who thinks they're good when they really could use some practice.
If I could, I would beat you silly with a Texas cactus!
This isn't right of me, but Ryan you must not have had a clue,
That my slam poetry will utterally consume you....
Engulf you in a poetic inferno, and leave you a smoldering heap!
What-do-you-know!? It's a T.K.O.! And I've put Ryan to sleep!!!!
Note: This is why I don't want to slam with you, No offense, but I have to focus on your idol
P.D. So run back to her with your tail between your legs and tell her my filing cabinet is full
and ready;)

im livin in a world, where all eyes on me.
trying to curve my own route.
but route 66 keeps finding its way to me.
ive been plenty sick, in all the events layed before me.
even when i reflect to my lowest points
i dont regret any of the choices
That I’ve deployed in my era
A lot of it by error, but hey
We live in hell conditions and there ain’t no air condition
Or any guidelines when life throws you in the sidelines
But when hindsight twenty twenty hits
You’ll begin to understand life’s a bunch of equations and you in the mix of it
An you’ll have to think twice, before running into a situation and becoming the best of it
Situations
it’s what got me here, it’s what got us here
Ran with my thoughts blazing up to her place and
Guess what happened next
She opened up heaven’s gate
And just before late I slipped out
Simply put
I’m a Grown ass man
Doin his thing, waitin to blow up like an old land mine
In doin what he drools over
But time after time
Something decides to creep up and cover the light
Lost my way
Then I revoked to ever know, I ever thought that way
But in the in between time, that in the mean time
Spent a lot of time
Gettin pissed off just to medicate and lift off
Don’t need Don Perion to sip off
Already had my way with the bottle
Even thought to get back with the trouble and rejoin the hustle
That’s just what happens to a man who really knows his old ways
Whos tired of making ends meet and ponders getting back to the streets.
Memory sets in and he remembers an O.G. saying
No matter how tall your pockets stand when you ball
Eventually times gonna make you fall
Fall
And I as I pull myself together
I don’t wanna end up like the twin towers rubble
I mean no offence to nine eleven but at that time I probably could have used a reverend
But all that’s irrelevant now
because i live with a different perspective now
there you go you made it to the end :-) comment if you like, constructive criticism wanted as well.

Ageism
Summer is always hot in the valley the sea breeze does not reach here.
I have a fan blowing shifting the air giving the impression of cooling the air.
By all means we are prosperous people we do have an air condition,
bought before the price of electricity went through the roof.
We tell ourselves that heat is good for our arthritis when driving and
arriving across the road I’m able to turn my head and see what coming,
in winters I do that by feeling of danger or ease.
So many names of soft drinks in the summer they all tell us they are full
of vitamins added and sugar.
I read the job section in the paper, many jobs going I can get well paid
and I would not have to worry about electricity bills and other grating bills.
I do many things if only in my mind, I have written to seek
a job, there has been interests but, when I fill in the form about my age
I hear no more. Once I got a job as a supply officer on a ship, it didn’t last
when it was discovered I wore a false moustache, a wig and was telling lies
about my age. And I was helped down the steep gangway her captain said:
I would have hired you if you had been 30 years younger it is not company
policy to hire anyone over eighty.

Car Trouble
The car started slow to go as cars go
Silent on the ride it motioned down the road
Leaves could be counted on the trees as I passed by
I counted every one just for fun
The pace picked up and time stood still
There was nothing to be done
It seemed a little odd at first
When the car traveled in reverse
And headed off the cliff into the universe
Falling off I screamed and cursed
Maybe the brakes gave out
Way beyond our system solar making many lefts
And when the auto made a sharp turn right
Exceeding light speed passing planets
I realized there were no street signs or people or roads
Everything was calm and normal in the void
A pleasant voyage but I had to wonder why
The Earth removed itself from sight
From my rear view mirror speeding out
I only paid five dollars’ worth of gas
Screaming past the universe unfolding
Collapsing there in front of me and dads jalopy
It seemed curious indeed
Will I make it home for dinner
Will I be late to the dance this evening
And will my parents be angry at me
The air condition stopped working hours ago
There are only foreign stations on the radio
Space ships pulled up next to me
Orange beings questioned why I drive so slow
Creatures with five eyes laughed at me as they rolled by
Silver androids stopped me for conversation
Space police pulled me over for speeding in wrong directions
For going ten thousand miles per second
In a three thousand speeding zone
They issued tickets for space ship violations
For speaking in a foreign tongue
And chewing gum without a license
And for being an alien without alien registration
Also for Improper lights in a speed of light designated zone
They sent me home with just a warning this time
I told them time had stopped
They wrote me up again for that and driving backwards
As I arrived back in time
Mom and pop stopped me on the spot
I forgot to take the trash out so I’m grounded
No more car or dancing with the stars

THE PASSION OF CHRIST
A Confrontational Poem by Atsu Adaletey
The Passion
Of Christ
Is a Mission
With Thirst
The Passion
Of Christ
Is a Vision
With a firm Decision
The passion of Christ
Is faith in Action
Not a Risk
For Experimentation
Is not to take pride in church mansion with air condition
It is to step out, reach out to those poor souls in a hopeless condition
It is not to take pride in your smartphones during church service
It is to fear the Lord for his greatness and to revere Him with some level of discipline
It is not for church sitters
But for church workers
It is not for crowd-driven souls
But for kingdom-driven souls
The passion for Christ
Now replaced with the passion for lust
That which ignores the essence of the Trinity
The passion for Christ is not for high hills who are reluctant to jump in His praise
The passion for Christ is for flat feet that humble their reputation and position for His praise
The passion for Christ is not for make-ups that fake His praise
The passion for Christ is not for make-ups that denies
the soul from true worship
It is for souls who truly understand what it means to worship Him in truth and in spirit
It is for those whose skin deserves some whip
It is for those whose palms receives some nailing, embracing the pain of sacrifice in worship
The passion for Christ is for “wanna dos”
Not for “wanna sees”
Show me your phone and let Jehovah show me how much time He spends watching over you
Show me your expenses and let the creator who gives you life showcase your offerings and tithes
Tell me how old you are
And let Him tell you how many “minutes” you are left with
Tell me how busy you are
And let Him tell you how free He is
The Passion
Of Christ
Is a Mission
With Thirst
The Passion
Of Christ
Is a Vision
With a firm Decision
The passion of Christ
Is faith in Action
Not a Risk
For Experimentation
It is not for church sitters
But for church workers
It is not for crowd-driven souls
But for kingdom-driven souls
Where is your passion?
In Christianity
or Vanity
?

Sixty-four Forevermore
By Franklin Price
6/4/2018
Sixty-four forevermore
This month it has been fifty-four
In cap and gown walked down the aisle
The memories still make me smile
Many together all the years
From one through twelve from milk to beers
Sometimes bad but mostly good
Day to day lived as we should
No air condition in the school
To skip a day was sometimes cool
The beach was calling out our name
To not be caught part of the game
On week-end nights a drive-in show
To watch or not you never know
With luck a date to share the scene
Sometimes distracted from the screen
We also met at the tastee-freeze
Or the A&W to shoot the breeze
To see each other and be seen
The dining drive-in had no screen
Spoke to each other face to face
While snacking at a drive-in place
No cell phones then to help our fate
We did not text to find a date
Those were the days at least I think
To friends from then I raise my drink
I toast you all to end this rhyme
Those days I think a better time

Let there be light
Today October 1st 2014
Nigeria celebrate 54year of
Independent
Let there be light
Now To the men on the hills
We are tired of darkness
We are feed up of heat
Our light builds are tired to sleep
The wires are whiling to catch life
Our food cry for preservation
The fan can't help the air
Our tv are tired of no touch
Our phone batteries need to be charge
Our cloths need to be strengthen
Despite all
Every month end we get bills
For what we never enjoyed
A scam
With no explanation
Let there be light
Nigeria is the biggest
Economy of Africa
Yet we lake constant electricity
the common man no not
The meaning of electricity
All day we burn fuel
With a power generator
Where some die from it pollution
Let there be light
Light up the land
And watch growth
Flow like a tap without
A head
The people are in need of life
How do you keep
Calm while we suffer
To nothing
Let there be light
On your hills
In our hot weather
You sleep with an
Air condition
Hello sir I wonder
How your head
Keep cool if you
Lack electricity
In that mansion of yours
I wonder how you enjoy
Your luxurious properties
With out the light
Yet you fail to provide
It to your people
Let there be light
Only a fool enjoys
To allow poverty
To live among his own
Community
Only a cowards live to
Only show up his hight of
No knowledge nor wisdom
The light is a necessity
Darkness is evil
Like is obvious
We pledge to you sir's
On the hill
Let there be light

Not socially inclined
We drove to Cascais for two days holiday at
a posh hotel and I promptly fell ill a sort of fever
I do not travel well.
My wife and her extended family had a swell
time, while I shivered under three blankets and
claimed the air condition was sat to freezing.
On the third day I arose, had solid breakfast
no had seen anyone recover so quickly, it is
I said because I’m a Norwegian
After breakfast and packed suitcases time for
goodbyes, lots of kissing and hugs
and they all hoped I would be better next year.

The cold, is here again.
Our lips, are getting dried again.
Lip gloss sellers, are inflating its price again
Men will bear this brunt, all again.
The leaves are littering the ground again.
Late student will have to pick again and again.
Sweaters would be in vogue again.
The rich won’t boast to us again.
Cos the natural cool air condition is here again.
The lotion cream has no effects again.
B’cos it’s the Vaseline’s time again.
It’s Harmattan again.
The farewell to ember months is here again.
Let’s play safe, perhaps to witness another one again!

Suppose there is no life in space, just us. And we inhabit Mars,
air condition Venus. Hold family barbecues, national holidays
on Mercury. Fly to Jupiter for spas of ammonium nitrate.
And go farther afield in the galaxy and on to other galaxies
leaving behind map-faced men, crow-like women and open gates.
Who will be the first-born human on the moon? News
from the moon colony! And so on, on every planet where
we've visited and established dusty villages or vast cities
over thousands of centuries. Then, will we not have somewhere,
somehow, under some sun's rays become another species?

The big cat
It was a brilliant day, summer lasted long
in the rustic landscape, I lived, when I saw a cat
in the yellowing grass, no it was not an ordinary cat,
but a cheetah, it had been running after cars not
quite catching any, and now it was tired.
The car had no air condition all windows were open
the cat vanished from view when there was
a commotion in the back, the cheetah had grabbed
my old dog and run away, into the bushes.
I was consoled by the thought my dog had put up a heroic
Fight before the cat ate it.
My neighbour gave me whelp this helped me, dazed
as I was by my grief.

Ships of Poverty
Going through the Suez Canal in the fifties was
fraught every porthole and doors had to be
locked or we were robbed.
The ship swarmed with carpet sellers, thieves
and people selling dubious alcohol and
*********** that even looked old fashioned
and they were not shy touching up a young
sailor. And for us who had no education we
thought this was Egypt a country of robbers
and shameless perverts.
The Red Sea, Persian Gulf another nightmare
on ships that had no air condition. We slept
on deck to catch the cooling morning breeze.
Our suffering made ship owners very rich.

The Invader
August night, air condition off no electricity, dying in my
own “sweat,” a word I wasn’t going to use again. A sudden
gush of hot air makes the curtain move, in a surprised way
like an English castle ghost caught unaware in the armoury.
The gush is full of crematorium ashes, cling to my face
won’t come off; I’m tired have no strength, when I finally
get to the bathroom, my face is clean, ash has gone through
my skin followed the blood stream to my heart and brain.
I know share my body with someone else; a soul that didn’t
want to leave, but demanded more time. There have been
subtle changes I have a hankering for tea, no milk and two
lumps of sugar, I leave the loo lid down and keep bathroom
clean. The feminine side of me keeps my coarse ego at bay;
I do not sweat anymore but transpire.
