One Flew Over

I knew an old buffoon
quite the gloomy poltroon
who through a stormy monsoon
flew his hot air balloon
and among the Walloon
and Flemish
much to their surprise
did not meet his demise
but with neither a blot
not a jot
nor blemish
at all
on hand
in the small
6-Government
densely populated
parliamentary constitutional monarchy
3-language country of Belgium
safely did crash land

The Rose of Belgium

My heart yearns to rise early
to have you in company;
Your dazzling native beauty
attracts the crowd at Tiffany.

Even the birds of Rome
come on their way to roam,
for, your smile is like a home;
A cozy shelter against the storm.

Shining hair of ebony,
cheeks that bury deeply,
voice that sings a rhapsody,
brings to life a fantasy.

Rose that is pure divine
when you are near, I feel so fine;
Let the morning sunshine
tell the rore to shine.

Moon river I shall venture
on the fair sands of your shore;
May the lash of your nature
rope the heart that I adore.

Premium MemberWise Chocolatiers In Belgium

Jean Neuhaus had an apothecary store in Brussels.
He started covering medicines with chocolate, to make it more palatable.
His grandson replaced the medicine with praline.
“a spoonful of sugar”

Belgium All Star Festival
Variety of languages are being spoken
Church of Our Lady of Laeken smiles as she sees them gather
Across from her boats are being decorated for the festivities
We have the best festivals in the world, she thinks

Grand Palace would disagree.
She was haughty, and stuck up, thinking her festival was the top of the mark.
Flower Carpet Festival was fine but not held yearly, so Lady of Laeken discounted it.

We also have the Belgian Pride Festival every May, the bakery down the street
mentioned to her, so she knew she had been think aloud.
It was a fantastic festival too and well attended.

At least we do not live in Ypres the two landmarks said to each other, laughing.
That is where Festival of the Cats is held, honoring gruesome stories of throwing cats.
Church of Our Lady of Laeken felt sorry for her cousin St. Peter’s, for he lived in Ypres.
It was something he had to endure every year.

Premium MemberBelgium Waffles

Belgium Waffles at Tim's are amazing
Too bad they're loaded with stuff causing weight gain
They have a winner
Breakfast or dinner
This seems like an ad, but stop your complaining

 BORERUST DEAL GO
PEACE TO THE LOVERS
MIGHT THOSE DISENFRANCHISED
FIND WAY TO ADAPT
LOVE BEYOND YOUR LOVEBOUDERS
LOVE IN ALL DEMITIONS
TURN YOUR UNEAGERNESS INTO THAT
WHAT'S, THAT YOU MUST ASK
THAT IS LOVE
I STAND PROUD TO SAY
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Terror In Belgium, a Pantoum

Again violence shakes our earth
Takes the colours off the light
Dogma and blind faith in no dearth
Floating clouds of born disquiet

Takes the colours off the light
Serial bombs at Brussels airport
Floating clouds of born disquiet
Their suicide bomber’s brutal assault

Serial bombs at Brussels airport
Belgium capital goes into lockdown
Their suicide bomber’s brutal assault
At the headquarter of European Union

Belgium capital goes into lockdown
A repetition of November 13 in Paris
At the headquarter of European Union
All around confusion nightmarish

A repetition of November 13 in Paris
Somewhere a rot in social constitution
All around confusion nightmarish
Puzzled and shocked we cry for solution

Somewhere a rot in social constitution
Won’t we live in peace and mirth
Puzzled and shocked we cry for solution
In danger is our home and hearth

Won’t we live in peace and mirth
Dogma and blind faith in no dearth
In danger is our home and hearth
Again violence shakes our earth

Fly Me To Belgium

fly me to belgium
for i want to meet the queen
and get a glimpse of
the man who is the reigning king

fly me to belgium
for the festivals and things
i'd run with the hip
and ageless in the cool streets

fly me to belgium
for i want to see dinant
hear those saxophones
and get lost in all that jazz
