Behind the Sun
The faces of the tom-toms were sallow,
So was the face of the sun, dark-visaged,
Red, and starved through a pogrom
That assaulted the peace of the beasts.
Darkness spelt the names of diseases,
Each pronounced through stiffened tongues,
Whited by the scourge of hate – a common
Figure, cadaverous and laconic, but incestuous.
Grieving rivers sought ways to be rechristened
Or rebaptized by

The Face Behind The Mask
What hides behind your painted smile?
A gentle soul, or a storm in waiting?
Do your eyes speak truth,
or are they windows with curtains drawn?
When you laugh among the crowd,
is it joy that dances,
or loneliness in disguise?
How many words are spoken
not from the heart,
but from a script carefully written?
How many hands are shaken
while the mind whispers something

What Do Women Like To Read
I love to know the books you keep,
Where silence gathers, dark and deep,
And stories bloom like summer rain,
To wash away the heart’s old pain.
Your favorite place—the darkened hall,
Where moving shadows rise and fall,
A movie theater, hushed and still,
Where dreams are kindled by your will.
The pages whisper more of her
Than him—soft words that always win.
For women’s

All those hours he won’t get back
All these hours he won’t get back
A clock on the wall, a heart with a crack
He watches the hours and how they pass by
Did you steal the stars from the midnight sky?
Long Hello’s but quicker goodbyes,
He carries them all, in his tears and his sighs
He runs from the light, he jumps at the noise
Of

just a feeling
while it seemed all the words in the world
could not appease her fears
and yet a single look of tenderness
was all it took to make her whole again

Animal behind the disguise
They’re killing innocence because that’s what they do. Bullets are made to fly and bombs to fall too. The animal is alive and disguised by a soft smile. But it will rip out and eat your heart and then politely say thank you.
The animal lives a cultured life, educated and true. The animal exists in

Behind her eyes
Scratches all over my body,
Pouring into the glass of wine that spilled over my wound,
Counting on my fingers, the night terrors,
Scrambling to find the door where my heart belongs.

Why we need to leave left behind letters to our loved ones
There are many Christians today, that are advocating always,
That we leave 'left behind letters,' to be read latter on, after
The harpazo of the church has both come and also gone.
Instructing our left behind loves ones they can still become
Saved during the earlier portions of the tribulation days.
And they won't be on their own, but

Get Thee Behind Me
Speak of the devil incarnate
to give the devil his due
not to play devil's advocate
tho' devil-may-care
the devil is in the details
and while we're there
to state so now would be opportune
he who sups devil's food cake
or devilled eggs with the devil
should have a very long spoon
but if we don't the devil you say
better the silver-tongued devil you

What are the reasons behind mine and your's mental confusion's lately commentary
1st Corn 15:4 according to the Scriptures. All of my battles and yours as well really
do originate in our minds 'cause our minds are the windows to the world.' As we
think, therefore, we become. All of our sins, first originate in our minds prior to
actually being fulfilled in our various earthly lusts.

What the Morning Leaves Behind
I woke this morning
to the thick breath of heat,
a humid Sunday rising slow as regret.
The tulip tree leaves hung there,
backlit like stained glass in a forgotten chapel,
and beneath the sagging feeder,
a ragged pile of feathers—gray, white, brown—
strewn across the grass,
as though something holy had been torn apart
in the night.
Fox, coyote, hawk—
it hardly matters.
Something lived, and

Q What evil forces are really behind my mental confusion?
