In the dune-field of the deserted scorched life,
clutching my desiccated desires I chase mundane mirage,
walk listless on the tormenting trail of strife.
Suffering to the core, I’m submerged in sordid mire.

Under the multi-layered receptive mind,
the soul resides at the inner meditative depth,
where awareness is the light of the eternal truth,
enduringly reflecting the sensitivity of the divine glow.

Trying to be released from the clasp of karmic destiny,
I transcend the expanding limits of heart-head linkage.
From the closet of mortal being I strive to set my soul free,
the patina of perpetual peace I yearn to flourish.

In the devout sanctum of heavenly freedom
my soul aims to attain the timeless euphoria of nirvana.
The beauty of the ultimate oneness it beholds,
vibrating with the rhythm of supreme elegance.

The darkness of the pasture of suffering gets illumined
with aura of the absolute, having thousand sun’s shine.
I find the lotus bloom beguilingly bright in the soul,
discover the enlivened constellation of innate bliss,

Premium MemberA Garden Mom

A myriad of enchanting flowers
at grandma's grandiose garden
that bloomed like perennial wildflowers
used to fascinate a multitude of people
who entered the porch
of our century-old ancestral abode.

A kid at seven I wondered
when i heard her every morning
whilst sprinkling them with rice water;
She spoke to each plant in nicknames
like her own children~
Chrysanthemum she called, Chrissy
her ravishing rose as Rossy
her dazzling dahlia as Dolly
her bushy bougainvillae as Bougy~
They smiled and danced during roll call;
And when the evening came,
in magical moonlit milieu
like children at play I heard them
singing sublime symphonies
only for me and for grandma.

My grandma was a great mom~
not only to her children
not only to me
but to all the flowers naive and wild
beguilingly blossoming in her gracious garish garden.

Alas, the garden is gone~
and so my grandma~
I hear the old porch
calling me~
"Come back, my beloved child!".

Carrie-Ellen

Conjured by gravity,
she shape-shifts in adventitious magic
Apprehensive of resistance,
she folds, bent into his charisma

Rough rocks spiny are smoothed to bubbling baubles rounder
Rough rocks silent are cajoled to gush repartees that thunder

Inside their walls they shine beguilingly,
holding her in radii, even as she spreads,
spilling her misty veils on them to escape-

Ellen first, she gliding-sways,
serpentine-sculpting with ease,
longing for the deep stillness of his pull
where she can pool
Long her limbs grow,
as she turns into Carrie under control...

Ellen or Carrie, autonomy of form’s forever beyond her scope

Never was a fate more apparent –

to flexibly flow and drown

Cosmic Masquerade

Starry night sky above

--- starry night sky below ---

reflected in a restless sea:

twin nocturnal profiles face off,

touch nose to nose

--- share stars for eyes ---

the wind that meets the water.

Floating in darkness

the silvery moon rises -

intriguingly, inscrutably

--- dark side, light side

hidden from each other,

man in the moon ghastly.

Baleful lunar eyes hover,

looming mirrored,

awash in inky waves.

Glorious morning yawns.

Hidden somewhere in the firmament

she waits, and she waits some more,

leaning against the wings.

Beguilingly draped, she anticipates -

her next sweeping entrance.

...

All Creation

--- benign yet indifferent ---

gathers Her own,

draws them ever closer,

--- finely tuned, outrageously only approximate --- ,

the union of yin and yang.

Both tumble along as one,

--- celestial dice rolling ---

swept bobbing w/ the tide,

transcendence disguised,

transcendence revealed.

Kevina

Behind the elaborate mask I wear
You are a tempting sample of wine
Beauty to behold, your face serious
With a dazzling smile, girlish delight,
With the most enchanting looks
that would melt the coldest of hearts
You are exquisite, warm, beguilingly innocent
The list is endless...
When I see you now,my heart flitters
and now more than ever,
I crave for your glowing angelic presence
Happy Birthday!!

Country Road, Travel Me To My Humble Abode

The wheel twirls on the carpet of dusty gold;
Caressing a story yet untold...
The paddock filled with dancing green Mermaids;
The gaze in to eternal beauty fades...
Peaks Joyous of the breeze;
A kiss or two? What a tease...
The blazing golden ball high above;
Mellows down for a striking white dove...
Singing Nymphs luring with devotion;
beguilingly the hands set to motion...
Country road travel me to my humble adobe
Set me free of this grave load...

Forever Fragile Flower

Lay softly still my forever fragile flower
For the wind will swiftly surely come
And sway you back and forth on the hour
Before the coming calming summer sun

Your bashful beauty beguilingly beckons
Within the subtle skies of bathing blue
For one day you’ll be gone in seconds
And that is the day I shall miss you

Your petals perched like a quixotic queen
Your saintly strength shining through
Your pain pours down the evergreen
Your sacred selfless smile bids adieu

Gently blooming in heavens diamond dome
Where birds and butterflies romantically roam.

He Was

HE WAS

He was one of those Splendor In The Grass
  Forgetless- heart filled days of glory;
His spirit on white puffy cloud-
Sun- cloned Lewisburg, WV, fast water

Heaven skipped the top rocks as surely,
As never had my heart longed so deeply,
Nor spirit wind felt so beguilingly sweet,
     Whipping the earth's face clearer-dearer

His arms bound our soul-gathered beings'
  Invisible cry;
Whilst the brilliant sky so high
        TOLD THIS STORY: YEP,

THIS GIRLS IN LOVE WITH THE BOY!

 bettyburdette 2016

The first time I knew I loved my husband, we were
up on Greenbrier River across Low Water Bridge, WV.
He was so silently intent on the river, sky, and the
beautiful clearer than clear water. His spirit was
sculpting while I fell through space as only a teen can.
That is what the poem is about, AND

To You, My Only Love --- Gone to Be With THE LOVER OF
OUR SOULS, on this 2016 EASTER---HAPPY EASTER TO YOU..

WANDERLUST

A subtle dab of perfume on the wind
autumn siren whispering
her song amid the trees.
Beguilingly peeking
from behind
leafs blushing fan.

The taste of salt upon the air
seasoning to tempt
adventures palate,
salivation at the ringing
of Pavlovian bells.

Imagination in the dust of vision
oasis in the sight of closing eyes,
unreachable horizons
barely touching
the edges of the wander lust.

~observation Through False Dawn~

Candid beliefs of grief,
where notion belays birth
beneath serfdom.
Once spread, collecting counterfeit
additions, superstitions
like hived honey,
neatly packed to feed
imature illusions;

devoured now.

Nothing to wear or bear,
just fading echoes
fighting to remain coherent,
but the pain of severed ties
beguilingly lies like sirens wind whisper.

Does decay not dally,
vaporising vitality, whittling away
the concrete colours
neat in their display,
so only spider sucked husk
plays memories against the dawn,

awaiting death of a new day,

and all returns
labelled yesterday
making way, creating spaces
for promises to fill
or kill.

~the Man In the Mirror~

With straight laced back to bolster attention
pseudo reflection beguilingly displayed,
silica compressed, provokes recollection

of journey within when the truth was betrayed.
Like frost on the window defeat was coated
In faux sparkling gaiety, in sham masquerade.

That negative twin arrogantly gloated,
as sure as the master controlling the slave.
Reality buried like day demoted

beneath darkness’s oppressive tidal wave,
left to cower, like cur in submissive grave.

With defiance ascending from spark to flame,
to shatter this nightmare before damned defeat,
with a fist turned dentist to fracture this shame,

the remnants of memory lay at my feet.
In sea of slivers my soul still not unbound,
my counterfeit brother in painful retreat,

yet still I am hazy, in mist that confounds,
struggling for release from enigma rhymes
my senses recoiling to the laughter’s sound

and as eyes are cast upon pieces of crime,
each reflection reflected a hundred times.

Beneath the Smiles

Does this divine deliverance delve deep
beneath shackled truths. Hidden behind words
was honesty, expensive deceit so cheap
like an orchid amongst dandelion herds.
Arrogance betrayed behind tears you weep,
snuffed sensibility beguilingly girds.
Friendship accords toasted with tainted drink,
forced to drown in soliloquies ink.

Captured the wisps of fuelled ego retorts,
derisory spouting’s like hammer falls
smelting meaning so it twists and distorts,
locked in the prison of abusive calls
while tittle-tattle tales bolster support,
like temporary struts to stop falling walls,
but cracks are many, so inside we can view
the putrid poison, reality of you.
