Mulberry B

At Arromanches Les Baines, the British used a massive artificial harbour, known as Mulberry Harbour( specifically Mulberry B) to facilitate the landing of troops and supplies after D Day. It was ingenious.

Mulberry B

They lie half buried in the sand
Parked like huge metal flat beds
Under heavy weather barrages
Once they ebbed and flowed with the tide
That now washes over them
a stark reminder of sufferings
bravery and sacrifices
Invaded by moss,
they rust together
Undefeated in their history
yet their freedom doomed
There are no gravestones
at Arromanches Les Baines
Just revered metal allies

Never Again

The cacophony of headlines spills into homes.
Living rooms swell with images of death.
Horror hails against insulated windows...
A fusillade of destruction and trauma
Resonating in a global conscience.
Barrages of how's and why's rally...
...between...
brothers, sisters;
wives, husbands;
fathers, mothers;
sons, daughters.
All comsuming blitz of bewilderment.
Disbelief pierced by shrapnal of reality.
Darkness, without peace, smothers Europe
again

Indus River Dolphins

Indus River Dolphins are listed as, endangered
and are only found in the lower parts of Indus River, Pakistan
They are believed to have originated, in the ancient Tethys Sea
when it dried up, about 50 million years ago, an antient discovery

They are one of four, river dolphin species and sub-species
and they spend all their lives, in fresh water rivers
They use echolocation to navigate, hunt and communicate
as they’re functionally blind, and adapted to muddy waters

Numbers have declined, because of human encroachment
destroying their habitat, with all this human development
building dams and barrages, that degrades their migration
and other threats are, bycatch, poaching and pollution

Premium MemberFractured Canterbury Tales

For the benefit of any non-Middle-English
speakers, a literal, word-for-word translation
has been provided beneath each line of
the original:

Whan that Aprille with his shoures soote!
When we've already had enough! of April showers

Whan priketh hem Governeur in oure corages
Our prick of a governor locks us down in our garages

Than longen folk to goon on pilgrimages
Ha, ha! Our goon squads are itching to go on barrages

And smale fowles maken melodye
And assault thine ears with foul-mouthed serenades

That slepen al the night with open ye
'Twill fershloft three far aye with mnemonic charades

Brave Only With Hope

As i say a man may not cry i truly wish to cry.... I must say that Bravery lays in me... A Man Suited in armor taking barrages of arrows is brave.... A man charging into a barrage of cannon and musket fire is Brave.... A man Crawling through Holes in Vietnam is brave... A man in Kevlar Charging into a city full of Insurgents is Brave..... A man supporting his family is Brave.... But may i let you in on a secret? A Fine line divides a Hero and a common middle class worker... The hero is only Braver a minute longer... Yet we tell ourselves that minute means More.... Well i Must say Its true That minute means 1 more life is saved....

The Retelling of the Myth of the Legend of the Mythical Icaphus

"MY ARMS ARE SORE!"
*silence*
"HEY!! DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ROCKS?!?!"
*silence*
"FINALLY. I DID IT! *HEAVES* "
"CA-CAAW!"
"No. You have to be kidding me. This absolutely sucks."

Legendary Icaphus then forged a knife from a broken bone,
And legendary Icaphus slayed the bloodthirsty raven!

The wings of the bird still intact, she sewed them into her spine
and she ascended - the boulder became a pebble.

Through the clouds she rose, around cascades of lighting, barrages of ice,
Massive black storm fronts became little grey plumes.

The sun, though, grew more and more.

The winds grew thin and cold and her ravenous wings began to shudder,
The sun's glowing heat simply too marvelous.

The gasping sun pulled poor Icaphus into a brilliant oblivion.

Her soul was not effaced, but released from her gaseous corpse,
And it grew and it still grows infinitely larger,
Touching every star and all the planets and their moons.

The twinkling night - this is where it gets its light.

Teething Tigers

Western wars brought to foreign fields
Bullet barrages blocked by grim guillotines
Petulant petrol fans the flickering flames
Courageous captains solder soldiers together
Teething tigers ripped from mad mothers to
Carry demented decisions from bribed bullies
All hail the casket caravans of yesterday's youth

Why

Why
I query my inner soul
Is it an abomination
To cherish a tender
And loving partner
In an amorous
relationship?

Why
I query me
Is it that life
Is but a home
Of struggle unending
For the faithful
lovers?

Why
Again I query me
Is it that lovers can't
But face unending
Yearnings and
yellings
In the face of selfish
taste and passion?

Why
Me I query once
again
Do we attempt
ceaselessly
To quench the
undying flame
Of lasting affection
amorous
Between celestially
joined lovers?

Why
I query me once more
Can't we replace
The scorn we have
for love
With flowers that
bloom
All year and season
round?

Why
I query me again
Do lovers bamboozle
each other
With barrages of lies.
And not straight
And truths unending?

To Leave the Ground Unbroken

Want to know who I am?
Ask me, here I am.
My door is open,
 for a small token,
of a borrowed ear.
Hearts made clear,
in a stolen moment,
left unspent.
 Hidden messages,
constant barrages,
soils the future,
family culture.
Tarnishes the view,
from me to you.
Acceptance,
Or repentance;
The choice is up to you,
whether you walk the road of few.
My book is open,
my heart has spoken,
the critics paid for one last token,
to leave the ground unbroken.

-long Before Time Ago-

WORLDS AND WORLDS OF TIME AGO AND BEFORE

IN EONS AND EONS OF MOMENTS OF LIVES

HAVE INHABITED, ON AND IN WORLDS OF WORLDS AROUND,

RESIDED IN WORLDS OF SEAS IN EMBRYONIC STATE

COMPLETED AND VIED WITH CRUSTACEOUS OBSCURITIES

DID DINE AND WAS CONSUMED IN BONELESS APPETITIVE ZEST

ROMPED AND CAJOLED AT PALAELITHICAL STAGES

ABIDED WITH THE GODS IN SPACES OF YORE

AND SOARED AS ETHEREAL BEING'S WITH WINGS OF ETHER

DONNED SUITS OF ROBOTIC CLOAKS OF ARMOUR

SURVIVED ELECTRICAL BARRAGES OF PERSECUTING CONTROL

DELVED IN SUBTERRANEAN HEWED CAVERNOUS CHAMBERS

AS ASTUTE EGOISTICAL TERRIFIED SCIOPHOBICAL MORTALS

TRUDGED VAST GLACIAL AND TURBULENT TORRID MORIBUND PLACES

   COPULATED WITH ABORIGINAL NATURED SOULS

ROMPED WITH FREE ABANDON O'ER ALPINE HEIGHTS

THOUGHT POSTULATED, THOUGHT MADE ALL POSSIBLE

LONG BEFORE THIS WORLD WAS CREATED, I WAS.

~DAMAGED~

TAUNTING OF YOUR SADIST WHISPERS, ECHO IN MY HEAD
CONSTANTLY REMINDING ME, OF YOUR DESECRATION INFUSED
MY SELF~ESTEEM RENDERED UNTO ME, IN RATIONS FOR OBEDIENCE
NUMBLY, I ENVISIONED A CHANGE...THAT WOULD NEVER COME

WHELPS 'PON MY SOUL, DEEPER THAN THOSE MY SKIN
YOUR MANIACAL BARRAGES, VIRTIGUOUSLY PERVADE MY SLUMBER
FOR WANT OF MY TEARS, YOU...CAUSED MY RETREAT OF LIFE'S LIVING
THOUGH I STILL TRY TO CLEAVE, FOR WANT OF AN ENDING MORE ELATIVE

FOR ALL TREASURE OF TH' EARTH, I WOULD NOT SUFFER YE 'GAIN
I USED TO BELIEVE TH' PAST, WOULD NOT DETERMINE MY TOMORROWS
BUT JADED I'VE BECOME, MY TRUST NOW OPPRESSED IN CONTEMPT
FOR THAT WHICH DIDN'T KILL ME, YOU...MADE ME HUNGER

BELITTLED N' BROKEN, I NOW STAND ALONE...
MY EMPATHY FOR YOUR NEXT PREY, I OFFER AS SACRIFICE FOR YOUR DEMISE
WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF, AMONGST TH' DEMONS OF YOUR IMPIETY...
FOR AS LONG AS I'M ALLOWED, I WILL SMILE INTO YOUR EYES...

...DAMAGED
