Barefaced Poems

The road to love

Hi,
Do you remember,
I love you,
We ran and play together,
Fearless and barefaced and free.
Still carried away by the earthly sticky social masses.
Living by the truth and love.
Devoted to one another.
But it was for short.
They took us away from each other.
Such is the earthly material low.
Destruct and control.
And we lived. Divided.
Each in a new matrix corridor.
Seeking the deceptive happiness of abundance.
And the corrupt contrived earthly love.
But time passed.
And they failed to contain the treason.
And we found each other again.

A pose in meditation

I hold the stem of a wineglass, a pose in meditation,
cradling the glass as if it were an injured bird.
This is my moment of peace, my mind at ease
in stillness I peer at images and visions
tease my heart to recall my journey through life.

I need the grace to have clarity of thought,
an unclouded focus, an ungrudging acceptance
for moments of bliss, of loves possessed and gone,
of choices forged, rejected, and discarded-
I wish no barefaced cynicism, no conscience accuser.

Absolution is my own private, solitary affair
with unquenchable flair I will face life
in all of its stages in unfaltering whimsy -
not wither like a blossom in drought,
not a weather vane in a shifting wind.

The Promoted Versus the Demoted

Underrated Basil got a promotion
And it caused a commotion
Among luckless names for demotion
All of them restive and voicing the notion
Of An Elevation fathered by emotion…
They shall for the two wrongs raise a motion
Before the cause of their commotion:
A man you could enrapture with perfumed lotion,
That Bribery be distanced from Promotion
And Barefaced Trickery from Demotion.

Also, wages that should all please
And not a single soul displease.

Porcelain Face

The man with a porcelain face,
wore a smile for many days,
He didn't take it off not once,
wearing it for months and months.

One day he looked in the mirror,
and let himself snicker,
He took of the smile,
and pondered for a while,
What would they think if they saw his face?
would it be disgrace?
As tears flew swiftly down his cheek,
He thought himself a freak.

The man with a porcelain face,
somewhat of a disgrace,
No longer wanted to be pretending,
and just like a painting,
washed the mistake away,
to make himself feel okay.

He drew a new masterpiece,
A brand new face,
That he kept for centuries.

The man with a porcelain face,
walked out of the house barefaced,
Ignoring all the whispers,
That left his ugly face blisters,
The man decided to never again hide,
To help others by his side,
So they don't ever have to hide away,
To make themselves feel okay.

Magic

Genuine dollars from just shredded papers!
Risked bloodless jumps from sky scrapers!
A repeated mad stabbing of one’s bowel with a dagger,
one amusedly looking back at the waiters for a stagger;
All, a seeming control of Autonomous Nature,
To the mightily attracted, an enough mental torture.
His bamboozled face sometimes worshipfully handsome
Over a barefaced holding of Nature to ransom…
This, though, a piteous misconstruction of Reality,
As magic remains miles away from Actuality;
Just as Scheming, Ingenious Devil is from God
And a gestured ‘nay’ from ‘a nod’…
In theatres commercially displayed
And in open squares freely replayed,
Faultless jobs that are but a trick,
Disparaging Laws strong like Brick;
Undeserving pockets with money stashing
And deceiving graceful necks garlanding…
If magical powers be Satan’s invention
Then one is a professing achiever of his invention,
At once, his minister
With clearly missions sinister.
Settling for a tomorrow wearing a puncture
And unthinking forfeiture of a happy future.

To the Non-Helmeted Cyclist

Your helmet on holiday
While on a highway
Will make Accident Demons busier
And a lot to the Devil easier,
Either party to fracture your skull
For man’s most feared call.

Blame-worthy of you confronting a bike’s gear
Without donning its defensive head gear,
Suicidal, your cycling round the urban
While choosing to not turban!

Helmet dangling on a bike’s handle
Makes same its unlawful wearer:
Some silly, unlawful death nearer…
A barefaced lighting of the Wrong Candle!

A Brief Prologue To Doomsday

No more civility! For now, before that historic doom,
To fathomless, dark perdition let’s hurl their big-assed b.i.t.c.h.e.s.*
For such filthy creatures on earth there ought to be left no room.

These shameless global terrorists that in quest of dream riches
Have settled in the Middle East for almost a hundred years
Now with Heaven’s sure assistance we shall cast into ditches.

They ascribe to us their own name and the sleeping world that hears
Approves of their barefaced slaughters — regrettably — and terrors.
No more tolerance! Let’s show them what then in both hemispheres

Real terror is! Cows of the world do not see the grave errors
In the nuclear conventions. They have lost a dearest horse
But ignore the beast and look for its saddle. What peace-carers!

Arms are deemed bad but who on earth has ever exerted force
Against the red-handed butchers who possess them and use them?
No more delay! Mercy on them shall surely lead to remorse.

When I'M Still - Embed Free Verse

when
 I still myself
   and just be...
    an overwhelming
        sadness swells
         seemingly from
           an endless cistern of grief
             It wells and billows
               I accept it
                  not fully understanding
                    but knowing this sorrow
                         must have a voice
                             be heard
                                embraced
                                  I am "barefaced"

Quote me Rumi

Lost in realm of darkness,
as my raw hurts bled lavishly,
Stripped off all the poultice,
I hanged onto for my last breath,
As lashes on the subtle soul
barefaced his malignance,
Little did I know of mends
until the divine light showed in,
With utmost caress on the wounds,
Kindling the whole of me aglow !!

Optional Titles

how do you feel
lost and alone at the end of your dime
someplace on the road between the here and the now
out of smokes and outa luck
barefaced to the carnival of night
the day passes slowly into the vastness of the past
hungry eyes puddled with traces of regret
for all the places you've been and think you belong
for all the treasures of the past yet to be plundered
and all the sweetness to which your heart has succumb
convinced of the need to find a home
a place to breath easy
you take a few tentative steps to the road
in hopes of finding its easier than it seems
to kickstart your old bones
and write a new tale for you to sing
how do you feel down here at the end of your last dime
finger-licking good or foretastes of gloom
waiting here for the prize you know aint comin'
waiting here for the explanation you aint buyin'
thin and looking a little like a ghost
see you on the other side

And I Am

vulnerable & helpless
weak & powerless
defenseless & exposed
open to attack

and i am..

flagarant & blatant
barefaced & overt
brazen & brash
audacious & outrageous
undisguised & unconcealed
transparent & immodest
indecorous & unabashed
unashamed & unblushing
unrepentant & unforgiving

and i am..

bold & brave
courageous & intrepid
valiant & valorous
gallant & plucky
heroic & daring
audacious & indomitable
doughty & unafraid
undaunted & unflinching
lionhearted

and i am..

unnamed & unidentified
anonymous & incognito
unspecified & unsourced
unknown & unsung
uncelebrated & uncredited
unacknowledged

but most of all i am..

finally free

free of captivity
free of interrogation
free of misery

and i am..

free of all the things
you put me through

and i am..

assured
the quickest path to heaven
was straight through hell

Barren land of illiteracy ,
Soil never having been loosened,
Not fertilized by education !

Prejudice from heart difficult to eradicate,
Aspirations vacilitate, soon disheartened,
Barren land of illiteracy !

Comforts and bad money marionette ,
End of the day, lie disillusioned,
Not fertilised by education !

Howsoever doodads may shipshape,
Barefaced soul eventually feels threatened,
Barren land of illiteracy !

Eyes riveted at the door go grave,
Impecunious mason carving in house darkened,
Not fertilised by education !

Succor will soon arrive I hypothecate,
A town feared seized will stand fortified,
Barren land of illiteracy,
Not fertilised by education !!

My Play, Poverty's Play

And if poverty whips,
largely, torments
In her barefaced snort of
withering grievance.
I shall be the one,
mannered by Earth's dog-
wetness,
To garner my broken
possession, murk and bins,
Writhe, clamber steep nigh
moister Earth

From foot of lazy deities,
pick the sacred mound,
Muzzle it deep against my
leaking dereliction birthed
From a heightened
helplessness of obligation
And speak the words of
preserving ardour
From deities' bossom

As trambled Kola lobe and
marooned salt
Earthed for no sprouting in
rushing footfalls,
Prickled, insatiate in the
belly of oblivion
I shall be the praying yam
wholly unearthed
To the feet of a roasting
'adogan'

I shall be the racketeering
prey, jostled
Endlessly in poverty's
meaning play,
Washed- out by riches'
maze
I shall be the mocking
haunt lack tugs
In steep eaves of perceived
redemption.
