Atop Holy Hill

Atop thy holy hill,
Thy pine – so banished – weeps.
It reaches high for clouds of rye
But falters incomplete.

Atop thy holy hill,
Thy servants kneel and pray.
In holy stone thy bell atones
And beckons forth the day.

Atop the Sapphire Bus

Perched on a sapphire bus, its curves agleam,
In a painted glade where wildflowers teem,
A young man and lady, entwined in a glow,
Bask in love’s fervor, where soft breezes flow.

No tangled forest, but a sketch of delight,
Where a stream’s silver ripples catch dawn’s tender light.

Their petals like whispers, adrift

ATOP THE BLEACHERS

We watched our neighbor, Ollie, play in his first official ’T’ ball game
from our seats atop the bleachers…in the shade.
It was a treat watching the innocent exuberance of children…
before they have a clue as to how the game is played.

With little heads swimming in big helmets they’d approach the ’T’

I am sitting on
 the mountaintop 
looking at the terrain

 the clouds are moving
 and the wind is blowing
 it seems dense covering terrain 

 it never stops wind blows
 the tree waving sources
 cascading clouds
 manipulating humidity turn to rain

In tuned to my surroundings

Spying the terrain

Why should I try to make sense of it all
when thus far all endeavors have failed?
Why should I struggle to win in this world
when each chance that I’ve had I’ve assailed?

What can I make of the pieces that lie
broke and scattered in front of my view?
What is the purpose of picking them up

With this
Vale of Belvoir
And solitude
I sit upon
A lonely mountains top
Looking in the direction
Of a distant
Ice land
Felling its weather
Push

And deep blue sky

Before clouds drop
To wipe
