(A) Optimist (B) Pessimist, or (C) Realist
These labels that get tossed about are far too cut-and-dried,
and when we fail to act in keeping with the one applied
to us—perhaps since we were kids—we cause close scrutiny.
If “Optimist” feels sad, he is accused of mutiny.
I’m often A, I have been B, but basically I’m a C!

Have you ever questioned why;
a sad movie makes you cry?
Have you ever died inside;
contemplating suicide?
Have you ever been let down;
or faced a nervous breakdown?
Have you ever wept a tear;
spilled entirely out of fear?
Have you ever felt cheated,
despondent or defeated?
Have you ever felt alone;
constantly checking your phone?
Have you ever lied to win;
aware that it is a sin?
Have you ever doubted God,
believing He was a fraud?
Have you ever lost your pain;
only to find it again?
Have you ever blamed someone,
for something that you had done?
Have you ever snuck away;
after promising to stay?
Have you ever been in love
and done all of the above?
All of the Above
As a sister, you taught me hope indeed
As a sister, you blessed me with dignity,
As a sister, you taught me how to succeed
As a sister, you followed me above and beyond to exceed.
As a soulmate, you taught me nurturance
As a soulmate, you taught me friendship,
As a soulmate, you taught me reverence
As a soulmate, you taught me no perseverance.
As a friend, you consoled me
As a friend, you bestow me,
As a friend, you hold my heart
As a friend, we renew a new start.
Hopefully we may follow our paths to our future ahead
And I’ll always remember those important things you’ve said,
As a sister, confidante and friend of love
Thank-you for teaching me all of the above.
All of the above
Waiting for you is painful
Waiting for you and your kiss
Waiting for my special someone
Waiting for someone I miss
Loving you is my gift
Loving you is my passion
Loving your certain smell
Loving your sense of fashion
Needing you very badly
Needing you everyday
Needing your love and compassion
Needing your hand on my face
Thinking about you daily
Thinking about you every minute
Thinking that I should be with you
Thinking “how am I going to make it ?”
Missing your beauty and character
Missing everything that you are
Missing your humor and stunning smile
Missing you constantly from afar
Having you in my life
Having someone I truly love
Having a happy ending
Having all of the above
