FRAGILITY
Poem written for Body Possession Horror Poetry contest, Micheal Fulkerson, sponsor, 7/22/2025

Locusts serenade me as I rock, 
suspended, in the soft embrace of my hammock.
The air is lovely and eerie, 
heavy with the ghost of jasmine.

But then—a change, 
a shudder in the atmosphere,
a flicker, a spark, a pulse of light, getting brighter, 
a fiery arc

Dropping a line to aliens out there

Hello, out there!
Earth here,
how'd you be?
Just dropping a line
to tell you about
us earthlings,
I guess that's what
you'd call us,
if your telescope
things could see us standing here
looking up at you.
We're the Blue Planet, one of eight,
orbiting our yellow-dwarf star in
the milky way, sending all sorts
of electronic beams out 
that you can probably hear and get annoyed by.

Blinded by the light
Riding my bike in the middle of the night
Pity my plight
I ran over the foot of a runner in the night

I admitted my flaw, but then we both saw
a UFO with 2 diplomats
the runner he said "oy"
And in a ploy to annoy
A tractor beam pulled my bike and our hats.

an E.T. worshipped
by an ancient native tribe
who witnessed unknown aliens

Aliens on the Park

With skateboard tight in hand, his hair cut to the skull, 
he takes long drags on cigarettes, flinging each butt 
with an easy flick of fingers.

At five feet, slim, in sockless sneakers large for a boy 
his size and age, lost in oversized cloths new to his 
adolescence, his trousers barely hang on his half

Hallmark

Hallmark?

sappy stories of rich or
upper middle-class people
starting businesses or
trying to save existing ones

handsome men and
beautiful women
newly divorced
or never married

modern versions of
daytime soap operas
you may not watch for a month
and not miss anything

good thing my wife has
a television in the guest room
downstairs I can watch
ANCIENT ALIENS!!!!!

Aliens Confused by English Gibberish

What is that gizmo on your head?
Little doodad his son quickly said
Is it a whatchamacallit or a rinky dink?
Whatever you want Daddy, whatever you think.

The pool-side aliens who had been listening were trying to decipher
Words that made no sense, like vacuum, dust, and diaper
Gizmo? Doodad? Rinky Dink?
Do we have the right planet, do you think?

The Day The Aliens Came

It started as a quiet day..
The sun was bright, the sky was gray.
Then shadows stretched across the ground..
A humming noise, a buzzing sound.

The TV flickered, phones went dead..
A chilling static filled our heads.
The air grew thick, the winds stood still..
A silver light danced on the hill.

From metal ships so vast and tall..
They hovered low above

The Democratic Party really only cares about illegal aliens Q and A part one

Q: Why did the Democrat's under the Biden/Harris administration have an "open boarder
     policy in the first place?

A:  They wanted to retain permanent control over the government by allowing illegal
      aliens to be able to vote in our USA's elections as voters which is against

Fruits and mind

Delicious green and red apples,
Grow in the farm by hard working people.
Carefully transported to the fruit stores,
Displayed for the shoppers to adore.
Then they were in my possession,
Planned to give them to a dear friend,
Who used to love and enjoy them,
But all of a sudden, the fruits and me, 
We, to the recipient, became aliens and

Please rescue us from this godforsaken place
veritable hellscape, where angels fear ingress.

Just then an unexpected pleasant distraction
woke me from induced stupor linkedin to Los
Angeles fires jump/kick starting telepathic wife
high connection between yours truly husband
to a righteous leftist extraterrestrial establishing
an immediate cove Van Halen brotherly bond.

Here and now

The aliens with purple hair
are invading from another world
even though their hair might be
        fluorescence 
                   deep
their ideology is
           

A Dream of Higher Powers

The other night
Visiting in a dream a foreign land
We waited in expectation
The arrival of a group of alien dignitaries 
Somehow involved in guiding the culture.

When they approached across the sound
In a dark and rough hand-hewn canoe
I ran out to take pictures
Only to find a half dozen or so headless chickens
Standing patiently in their effortlessly gliding

my aliens actions

Mary’s behavior is bizarre to most
not to me, her favorite earthly host
bread on your nose is what aliens do
as is painting dark elm tree limbs light blue

her planet is seen at two a.m.
She likes to watch it from my son’s playpen
her actions might seem odd to little old you
but she does what all good aliens
