ALEXANDRIA
I came late to Jesus,
Got cancer before my time,
Watched my husband die,
Found my baby drowned.
What did I do wrong?
Followed His church’s way,
Never missed a Sunday mass,
Confessed my sins religiously.
Refused to hear the call
For contraception—
That was not God’s way.
I made Him a dozen babies.
Why’d he punish me?
My faith wasn’t always strong.
Still, I never strayed,
Took communion regularly.
I prepare myself to meet my Maker.
Doctor says I only have a day or two.
Jesus, come to me—
Save me from eternal void.
Upon the shores of Alexandria’s gleam,
A Library rose, ambition’s dream,
Where scrolls amassed like autumn leaves,
And scholars spun what mind achieves.
Muse-haunted halls, papyrus gold,
Ptolemaic hands, ambitions bold,
Zenodotus and Eratosthenes,
Measured Homer, measured seas.
Callimachus penned the Pinakes’ art,
Cataloging wisdom, knowledge’s chart.
Hero taught as numbers demand,
While diacritics shaped the poetic land.
Yet history’s tide began its turn,
With exiles forced and scrolls to burn.
Caesar’s fire, a shadow cast,
Yet stubbornly, the Library lasts.
Through Roman years, the dust grew deep,
Support grew thin, the scholars weep.
War and wrath swept ancient halls,
Until silence claimed the marble walls.
Serapeum’s shadow lingered on,
A haven for minds, though nearly gone.
Swept away by decree and strife,
Lost forever, Alexandria’s life.
So knowledge bloomed and knowledge waned,
In Alexandria, wisdom reigned
Until the world forgot its name,
But I'm here to bring back it's fame.
Alexandria is very great chief sea port
it is very nice in summer time city coast
Matches lit the floor
The library set ablaze
Words melted like ice
Basilides preached Matthias
In the fortress of the white lighthouse
My daughters, I’m so very proud of you.
You have grown to become, fine young women.
Let not your hearts or lives be ruled by men.
Stand fast, and to your own desires be true.
Take what you need, but no more than your due.
Act cautiously, you are noblewomen.
Speak softly for, you are gentlewomen.
Let integrity shine, in all you do.
Know this my daughters, I've always loved you.
Every day, you are in my thoughts, my prayers.
That God grant you wisdom, in all affairs.
May your strength and your courage be renewed.
For every challenge in life you pursue.
How I wish I were there to ease your cares.
And to mend your hearts, from life's little tears.
Remember this, I will always love you.
Lately I have been thinking about the future and,
Last night I saw a bird fly through a broken window,
No sad song, no lullaby, just simply moving,
The other day I watch the stars and I question,
Between goals and success what make a man stand,
Far apart is it he name or the place he came from?,
Last week I went to the post office and thought,
If every fine art was stamp we would be out I of ,
Characters,
The week before I saw river cry out and rock thunder,
In ruins and I question why is it in till danger occur,
People communication or reach out,
Today I saw a tree breath in life and chop of wood,
Was of fire,
Words broke barrels and it was call,
Mother Earth,
Who is to question such phenomenon when to,,
Late just answer are we Human or unemotional,
To one another and if eyes tell true of a being,
What is it of the origin of,
ALEXANDRIA’S GENESIS,
Life simply to not get old for some people,
But the lesson are infinity.
Oh, when will be Spring in Alexandria,
The Chrysanths crave for company
The sea breeze brings a melody,
The day that will be spring in Alexandria.
The flowers are going to bloom,
Proud like the star-dressed Daffodil
Dancing on the windy top of the hill,
The day the flowers will bloom.
Their scent will be carried away,
with the Cherry-pie giggling jingle
covering all paths with a lilac glow,
the day the scent will be carried away.
The bumblebee will stop her dance,
On the Everlasting tiny yellow petal
Dreaming memoirs of the coming Fall,
The day the bumblebee will not dance.
There is a secret Garden in Alexandria,
Not in the deep sea, or in the library
And no other town can be as flowery
As the secret garden of Alexandria.
They saw its light far out to sea;
An earthquake brought it down.
I wonder what the sailors did -
I hope they didn’t drown.
Lighthouse of Alexandria for PD’s Seven Wonders of the Ancient World contest
I had a lekker time in Egypt
even though I didn’t visit a crypt
I drank, smoked, had fun with friends
later back on board someone stole my tens
still had fun on the last night there
and the cab ride was quite a scare
that was one of the ports I have seen
as a young sailor at age nineteen
Do you recall when we saw together the sea
On the ancient city of Alexandria?
Which light we saw in the sky? Dusk or Dawn?
There was a nest hidden in the green lawn
With a single egg with white shell?
Loud or soft were the waves continual roar,
As we saw the albatross soar?
Did we together call it an angel of luck?
And from your lips, a kiss did I pluck?
On the ancient city of Alexandria,
There is a realm under the heavenly blessed sea
Where the angels do dwell?
This day I fancy but in my mind cannot foretell:
I just want to never forget,
The first time we faced heaven from near
the cymbals and harps playing so we could hear,
passion dissolved as the waves white crest
washed us in our wedding rest.
City built on Sin
City of Light
City that never forgets
--- never can forget ---
Walls are meant to Defend
But where are the Guards?
I watched two people sitting side by side
In an old Parisian style café
Eating croissants, sipping cappuccino and sharing
Glimpses of the past, present and future
With one another.
So completely mesmerized with their deep - space eyes,
The thought of me, anyone or anything else
Could not have been more than a fleeting speck
Of sand across the corridors of their timeless time.
Such is the mutual attraction of those in love,
No less than the allurement of
Planets, stars and galaxies
Swirling all around and high above.
Ultimately causing me
To stop and wonder how
Long, this ethereal dance of cosmology and biology
Has been in motion.
While it’s nothing but a notion
concerning coffee shop masquerades,
These lovers left me stirring
A fresh cup of curiosity
Along with my
latte’.
Already 2 years old
Your getting so big and learning so much
Many memories I will never forget
Watching you learn to crawl and walk
Hearing you say "mama" and "dada"
Sweet and adorable, yet at times...
Very stubborn and difficult.
But in mommy's eyes you're perfect.
Cleopatra , Queen of Egypt , feasting on Quails
and honeycakes,dressed in glorious splendour.
She minted new coins with her picture on them
"Mark them Cleopatra Philopater, after the King!"
Garlands of flowers , decorated in gold ,luxurious
purple silk, rooms perfumed in roses, celebrates
her victory with the Roman leader , Julius Caesar.
Bald as an egg and old enough to be her father.
Few women could resist his sexiness + charms.
Her brother ,Ptolemy thought not and surrounded
Alexandria with a sqad of twenty thousand troops.
Months went by ,Caesars Roman army re-gained
control........Ptolemy Xlll , weighed down by his suit
of golden armour drowned in the waters of the Nile.
In Alexandria she put his golden armour on display.
