BRIDGE TOO FAR

ALEX FORMENTON

BRIDGE TOO FAR MAYBE THIS ONE

SOME FANS SAY ARE DONE

A Message From the Past

I want this message from the past
When things like you're hearing now are illegal
When it's totally clear what you face
I want you to know if you don't resist
It will get worse
It's not going to get better
You will realize that you're the leaders
You will realize that it's up to you to act
This is my message to the future.
You don't have a choice
The attacks they launched against you
Herding you into the cities
Every few years a more horrific event
You have got to spread the word
Everyone will see the truth
You're in lock down prison cities
I'm speaking to the secret police of the future
Your families are dying from the bio weapons
You're dying from the engineered cancers
That information is restricted to you now
In our time we were able to access that information
Before it had been erased

"I know many of you in the future will be emotionless
Because of the vaccines
They attacked the areas of your brain
Associated with endorphin absorption"

Many of you have been lobotomized
I'm sorry that we didn't fight hard enough
I'm sorry that we didn't do everything we could
I want you to know we tried...

Psych Patients: Alex

Off to my shift at the mirage
Its feigned oasis has been dry since my arrival
And looks like it always was
The thirsty come to drink
Fistfuls of sand falling from cupped hands

Some think it a ruse
That we hoard what’s left for ourselves
Behind locked doors and hidden closets
That a lack of persuasion is all that bars them from paradise

Others trudge along, futility in their steps
Aware that if paradise existed
It has been scorched irreparably
Yet we continue

Premium Member Then They Killed Alex

They shoved Lady Justice to the ground.
He tried to help her up.
He warned them not to touch her.
And in his last breath,
he asked her if she was okay.

How should we remember Alex Jeffrey Pretti?
They said he brandished a gun,
but everyone could see it was a phone.
They said he was a violent terrorist.
officers attempted to disarm him.
Why won’t they release that video?

How should we remember Alex Jeffrey Pretti?
His extrajudicial execution?
The way they pinned him to the ground?
The way they pumped ten bullets
into his mortal form even after he lay lifeless?

How should we remember Alex Jeffrey Pretti?
An American intensive care nurse,
working for the Dept of Veterans Affairs,
living a life devoted to the care of others.
or a friendly neighbor always helping
those in need?

How should we remember him?
I will remember how he gave his life to help
                                                                                 Lady Justice to her feet.

This is You

Wolves
Tell the sheep:

You don’t see us
Our teeth our hunger our own pain

You won’t see what we must do
To you

You see life and love through the lense
Of human beings

Oh how sweet
How touching
Friends and neighbors

We see you
Through what we want

Your wool your blurry vision
Your care for the Lamb

It’d be best if the world went dark
The last light
Doused

By us for you

Make you blind and bleating
Then what will you do

But worship us?

ICED For Alex Jeffery Pretti

Situation climaxed for Pretti, bad
Worse day the poor guy ever had
Murdered in the street
ICE turned up the heat
Now America is Pretti got-damn mad

Tribute To Alex Honnold

By courting with death
we validate life

The deeper the fall
— the sweeter the height

(El Capitan, Yosemite: June 2017)

eleven eleven

Horses gallop through my mind
They don't stop they just rewind
Piano keys play lullabies in my dreams

Logic’s tossed into the bin
Love's a game I’ll never win
But I’m diving headfirst in
Or so it seems

I wait for eleven eleven
To whisper wishes to the sky

Love's made me crazy
Can’t you see
She’s the only equation I believe
If she were math
I’d beat a calculator
She’s the answer I’ll solve sooner or later

My little heart
It sparkles bright
Like city lights in the dead of night
Thinking of her makes my thoughts combust

I’m not the same
I’ve lost control
She’s the melody that fills my soul
Love’s a mess but trust me
It’s a must

Roots - For Alex Haley

Pensile clouds of a new Truth loom.
With them are selected versions of
Extinct grief.

Looking through the yellowness of a
Dog’s eyes, this aura of Truth, pervasive,
Sours my palate.

What say the bulletins and tabloids
In their speech potency?

Have they recoiled on the sudden encroachment
Of stale seas
Or have they rolled out drums for Haley’s ROOTS?

Between Kamby Bolongo of watery essence
And the forested, warm plains of Juffure, ROOTS!

And drums fashion themselves out for Kinte,
Who must tap gently the face of the drum
For earthly summons.

From sinuous, valleysome frontiers backward,
We yodel loud,
Fronting bands of ROOTS.

Premium Member Alice, Alex; Amber

It’s not often we’re together
you and I
within this unconscious soul,
drugs;
alcohol last time we met.
And, as before,
always,
we’ll fight
the two of us
like squirming ferrets
in this gray sack
she calls her mind.
Who will prevail before she wakes?
The one that doesn’t
recognize
the child she bore?
The one that spits and shouts
at everyone comes near?
There was a third,
we buried it some time ago;
we together,
in some forsaken corner.
Yet still;
it appears
in some dreams she has.

Premium Member A Poet Tree

Eye candy of literacy
Sit with me under the poet tree
It's colorful leaves with windy wet dreams
Glowing growing holy wise sandy seas
Raining sonnets psalms songs of gold
Beige yesterday, neon now, future silver soul
Of foreign of home
Of saint sinner some other zone
This black leaf is Emily
So dark smart sharply bleak
The red leaf rouge and profound
As Alice Walker's words painting nouns
The blue leaf a jazzy ballet
Of sonnets haikus John Lennon's yesterday
The green leaf with promises of now
From music the ears of poetry sound
Alex Haley, Dr Seus, ancient poets and the new
Prophetic stars of heart and writer monsoon
Romantic rage roulette of moon
All are priceless jewels alone or in unity
All behold gifts of God, heart, soul, poet tree.

Premium Member Smart Alex

Alex Smart was no fool.
He knew he was smart and cool.
He had deep dimples,
And not a trace of a pimple,
Because it was his first day at school
