Premium Member A Humbugger's Bah's

This time of year inspires oohs and ahs
Waltzing dreams in the snow's camouflage
There seems to be some flaws
In this legendary cause
To many-a humbugger's bah's

And through winter thoughts meander
And we ask others in candor
Do you believe in [I pause]
This elusive Santa Claus
Sorry if I am raising your dander

Shopping

We used to go shopping, you and I.
Dressing room privacy, Mom corner-facing
Then turn, you turn, front and back,
A view from every side.
Ooos and ahs . . .
So pretty, Mom’s pretty daughter.
What fun we had, you and I,
When we used to go shopping.
“Put this one in the MAYBE pile,” you said,
“But, oh, it’s so pretty,” said I.
“Does it make my butt look big?”
“Not at all,” I replied.
“Oh, crap! I’ll have to pass on it then.”
Giggle Giggle Chuckle
There was room for Laughter,
Room for Fun,
Before HEALTH turned her back on you.
And egg shells filled the space between you and me,
I’ve never been a careful stepper.
It’s best, I’m told, if I stay out of the nest.
But once upon a time
In the not so distant past
We enjoyed retail excursions
My beautiful daughter and I
When we used to go shopping.

Tangy, sweet, or “just right”
Ohs and ahs of sheer delight
Makes mouths water at the sight
Attacks the tongue with spirit bright
Takes a palate to heaven's height
Olfactory senses come alight
Essentially stirs the appetite
Savor the flavor in each bite

Premium Member In Blooming Fields

There flows in the blooming fields of Master, Claude Monet
a tulip river that springs to life with each impassioned stroke
A painting into which butterflies would be tempted to stray
where flowers waft in currents, making oohs and ahs evoke.

A Don Quixotic windmill and an old farmhouse in succession
short strokes of crimson, muted greens and boldest yellow
blended on canvas, the artist's Impressionistic expression.
Landscapes in natural light was the genius of this fellow.

I would snip a fresh bouquet of tulips to adorn a crystal vase
and capture their scent from the canvas for perfumed potpourri.
If I could climb inside a Monet painting, in my arms I'd embrace
you beside his tulip river and then sip a glass of crisp Chablis.

The Holiday

I looked on the net for a holiday
To visit somewhere picturesque
And escape the mundaneness of life
Just me, the car, and the wife.

We priced up guest houses, hotels
Would it be the lakes, mountains or fells?
A cheap, luxurious getaway, of four days
However far you run, your baggage stays

After hours of pondering ums and ahs
We couldn’t decide, which hotel’s spa
Then we realised, me and the wife
A pretence doesn’t change your life

So, we are staying home, our own bed
Who really needs a holiday? she said.

Sooth Songs and Grooves

Where do we began
Since this is beginning
How does it end
To show it's meaning
What to write
To convey my frustration
I like the chorus
But it sounds like
a beginning
Put sum ooh ahs in
A harmonic melody
Some strings and
Bassy grooves
Let the music beg
Me to sing
First verse is missing
Something it lacks
Something
Maybe it needs me
Sweet talking people
to see if there care
The oohs and the ahs
aren't that, repeatives
When we sing it onstage
I'm gonna need
Some strong voices there
Song love me
I think I'm in love with you
Say you need me
Like I need you
Get us where
We gotta be
It's a chart topper
Gone take the hook
Make it a real show stoppa
Alright now
Sweetie do your thing
Fellas tell the ladies
they can really sang
Voice under
Put me over
Right in the middle
Like what I feeling
Mix that lone
guitar with the
Fiddle.

Fried garlic cabbage
With peppers and onions

Lime ,olive oil, fish stock
Dressing
On a cucumber onion salad

Medium rare roasted
Lamb chops
Bread and bacon crust

Premium Member Loving Heart So Fond-

Loving the heart so fond
of love beats on
the travels of those the distance
yet in a trance eyes captures ahs!
reaching inside ones self
even loving ones self
I stand in awe
as I reach up and onto
the tower of my faith
so desolate encapsulating
anticipating I adhere to this present sphere
hating still my sinful self
I ask God to yet keep my breath
for I am yet a broken vessel
a clay pot needing to be remolded
emplace in me Lord God a new soft beating fleshy heart
a loving heart so fond fill with love and repentance and beats on
forever, and ever and ever more

Children squealed as others cried and grown ups simply clapped.
A giant Catherine wheel spiralled up and burst in flares.
Most colored pyrotechnics beneath the clouds got wrapped.
The ohs and ahs were heard as the sight dispelled all fears.

A giant Catherine wheel spiralled up and burst in flares.
The smell of gun powder filled the air, but no one cared.
The ohs and ahs were heard as the sight dispelled all fears.
It was a time to feast and cakes and iced beers were shared.

The smell of gun powder filled the air, but no one cared.
Most colored pyrotechnics beneath the clouds got wrapped.
It was a time to feast and cakes and iced beers were shared.
Children squealed as others cried and grown ups simply clapped.

The Four Seasons

All the world has four seasons,
why do some think they don't?
They all present differently,
no matter where you are on earth.

We don't need to think we are supreme
beings because we have snowfall.
Nor should we down our sisters and
brothers who choose a sunny climate
other than ours as brainless, dull fuzzballs.

I don't know much, but I know
this.
I will hear complaints from all
when it snows.
At first it will be all ooos and ahs!
But after weeks of shoveling
and unworkable cars,oh my!
They wail for the next season.

If one is lucky enough to be at
home, snowfall is a delight!
But for those who have to work
daily or walk or fall in freezing cold.
This whooping over snow gets
pretty old!

Notes:
*Poet once lived in Chicago
almost half her existence in
the Windy City.
But once she touched the fine
joys of the state of California
life, fell in love with it.
I do mean,hopelessly.*

pearl-like
     but not of the sea
               pregnant with opalescence

magic rainbows
          depths you cannot plunge
                     mesmerizing many

At nape of my neck
          in pendant form, drawing
                    oohs and ahs from strangers

Moonstone, shining my truth
         and my essence
                 Announcing me seconds before arrival

IN MEMPHIS

In Memphis, a stage delivers Elvis.
Excitement for girls - thundering pelvis.
They throw panties and bras,
Plenty of oohs and ahs.
In Memphis, the girls, hopelessly zealous.
